In America, that glue "went on" pretty much like our available Rubber Cement called *BARGE.* Yes, we do have to coat both sides for a long permanent bond, but.... in this mesh screen case, I think coating just "one side" on the Aluminum Frame then pressing down the totally porous mesh screen should achieve a super long term seal adhesion. And it will be 98% waterproof.

It's contact cement. You can buy it at any hardware store.
