I played it after a friend's recommendation a while ago and played through Extra Mode and man....those scares are brutal and the whole ending sequence for the true ending genuinely...rage inducing like I was yelling it was...not a good scene but so much fun! So excited to watch this :D
When you said that "if you want to get into speedruns, then just do it, you will know quickly if you like it or not." Reminded me when I used to speedeun borderlands 2 new game plus I wouldn't record or anything, but I would start a stopwatch/timer just to see how quick I could do it. I need to get back into speed running. It was definitely fun even if I'm not recording and posting online, etc
I had absolutely no memory of this game until I saw the purple hair and just went "oh. OH IT'S THIS ONE". The ending sticks apparently. Also the marathon sounds fun!
i think the ending where you wait is interesting especially when you know the other endings in the game, because you're just sitting there waiting for the witch to die out, which is endlessly cruel. i wish you'd actually get some sort of ending or acknowledgement for that too, or at least some scenes in between the waiting with the cat and other such stuff, though.

There have been a few neat titles that capture some aesthetic of it like Yuppie Psycho and Faith

some RPG Maker games are really Diamonds in a Dung Heap. i gotta give props to the folks that can push the Engine further.

I love the 2010-ish era of RPG Maker horror games. Any plans on doing another Ib one? Or is routing a bit too wonky for effective running?
IB Comes up every now and again but a lot of the RPGMaker games are just play efficiently which is okay for a bit but not great for long grinds
