Best 2-stroke motor on the market and out performs those Mercury 4-strokes, hands down. Better fuel economy, better emissions, better power, etc. I do understand sponsors though, so get it. P.S. Mercury supplies the parts to repair that engine.
@@BrianLatimerFishing went from Mercury to Evinrude. The 225 E-tec G2 was the best I’ve used. Now Mercury owns it/most of it and supplies the parts to fix them when broken.

A little late now but the reason you don't see many black Mercury motors on offshore boats is the black holds heat and caused issues with motor performance. Thats why they sell motors with white cowlings. That being said, when we taking that bad boy out?
Man, great advice. About 10yrs ago, I got into a whole can of worms trying to repower a 1972 Boston Whaler with a brand new Mercury Outboard. EVERYTHING went wrong and I wasn't prepared for any of it. Bottom line: it's a heck of a lot more than the cost of the engine.
the previous owner of my boat deleted the oil mix system and just used pre mixed gas directly into the tank , when I repower how do I get all that twc oil residue out of the tank ?
i have a ranger 361v i had a newer 60 horse Johnson put on the boat wiring was messed & the dealer rewired & fixed boat so it was use able to go fishing in & that all i wanted rowing sucks the boat was messed with well in storage! & people that said they help they all ran off! because they wanted it cheaper (ie they had O idea what they were doing) to me it was clear I had to wait years to get better i had a hidden in blood line cancer but it was controlled to make you recover and come back to near normal life, (oh your sick i lost 50 lb when 180 normal weight i am at 220 I am still over weight not as much ) i had diet change to fruit's all types and greens and 0 pork or pork hot dogs, its beef and turkey and chicken! i hurt my arm i a shooter the change area of holding on shoulder & coat dose help! I figured i feel better but you can not add water to the lake level!

Your a Mercury Team member, tell the truth. If you wanted reliability, you would have bought a Suzuki or Yamaha. But i had one of the 150 PROXS 4 strokes and I had no complaints.
Good information. That Pathfinder looks great for a 2002. I have a 2001 that's not as pretty but still gets the job done.

Siphon what you can and don’t worry about the rest. It’s not gonna hurt anything

Replaced a 2001 ProXS with a 2021 ProXS on my 2001 Triton TR21 and could not be happier with it.

Never heard of it.
I think if you need to fortify your transom (plate) your hull is probably not well suited for a new outboard.

I probably would not have gone with a mercury for a salt water bay boat .Yamaha are Suzuki .

That evinrude is 10 times better engine than merc and its 2 stroke, superior tech, faster, better aceleration , way more torque vs 4 stroke
