IMPORTANT- Use windows 8 to flash using this program and to bind a receiver you must use the factory menu bind command (Power up TX with both sticks down to the left). If you dont have SNR or RSSI showing then you need a telemetry receiver with newer firmware (or update it)

The main screen display is actually SNR (Signal to Noise Ratio). I didn't want to remake the vid to correct my wording :) Read the description for other important points. *Edit* As of June 2017 there have been multiple new firmwares on the RCGroups thread to fix bind issues etc. I am now using bindfix_updater_05_21_23_14.bin which works great for me. Check the thread for the newest file.
hey, in the video you say that there is a hack to show the cell voltage on the remote. you also say that you are gonna make a video about it. can you maybe explain quickly how to do it or is it not that simple? cant wait for it since it is really hard to fly with timer. really appreciate your work!
you can use an x6b receiver and get voltage with no hacks. if you use the ia6b it involves cutting a trace or two and soldering a tiny wire.
if you go x6b I recommend getting true dipoles off amazon or ebay like the ia6b antennas. ive been half mile so far on my x6b. I have my rssi in my osd of my goggles. I was at 80% at half mile. in the osd it start at 100% and goes down.
yeah the ia6b mod is really hard, best to get the turnigy iac or flysky x6b, those two just have a wire to solder onto the battery + wire, then set up in tx menus the two stage alarm. job done.. i would also point out that the beeper inside the i6 is very quiet, placing some tape over the beeper makes it louder... usually that would make it quieter.

Mine remained stored, bound and fully functional. Unless it goes sideways you should have an easy upgrade. This thing is a true champ now. Cheers

Hey can you set an alarm for voltage sensor (when using the x6b receiver) ? I think you can only go up to 10volts within the External and Internal sensors on the radio...

Thanks for doing this video, you explained the process very well. It would be great if you did a video on setting up some of these unlocked settings. Err., RSSI, SNR: which are most important? What are the appropriate ranges to set alarms for? This update also replaces the TX voltage bar with a number. Any idea what voltage is too low and should trigger an alarm? I'm sorry if these are dumb questions but I'm having a hard time finding answers.
Agreed on the above. I'm not quite sure where the external voltage is being shown on the transmitter ? I can set the alarms for it, however how do you display voltage ? does the voltage only show up when you plug in the CVT-01 ?

The FlySky FS-i6 is a wonderful TX, especially with the firmware upgrade. I use both the FS-i6 and a Taranis X9D Plus. The FS-i6 is still far from all the features offered by the Taranis.

Anybody know where to download Firmware updates for the FS-i6X everytime I try to download something from FlySky every Virus alarm on my PC goes off.
I flashed and started to look through the Rx settings. I just want to confirm that this transmitter can actually do SBUS? I have a couple of Pixhawks just sitting in the drawer because they don't support iBus. If I can communicate with a Pixhawk, using an X6B receiver and getting 10 channels, this absolutely is a dream come true. Am I understanding this correctly?
can you do a tutorial on updating the firmware on the FS - i6x and also adding new gadgets to it like you did to this FSi6? it would be great to have the following..... the timer, a LIPO recharge battery installed instead of the dreadful 4 double-AA's , telemetry and what ever other goodies you can put on the i6x. Oh and also, i have downloaded the latest firmware from FLYSKY but apparently there is a bug fix that fixes awful programming in the i6x, are you familiar with that and can you direct me where to download it? i don't want to affect my 10 channel capability however..... thanks man!!!!

I'm on a pretty tight budget, would building my own quad copter from parts as and when I get some spare cash or 3D printing the parts I can, be a good idea for a first quad copter? Or is it better to save up and buy a cheap kit and learn that way?
I'm a firm believer in starting by building, that way you understand the subject better and also making repairs are easier. So either way I'd rather build my first quad copter, but as a noob to flying them, is there too much to go wrong with a self build over a kit?

Tried on win 7 and seems these drivers get mixed that it cannot find port (created a paraller port for me)
When I set the flight timer in the extras menu do I seriously need to just hold the button down for like 2 hours just to set it to 3 minutes? I can see any other way to set it without going down in real time :/

I have a problem with patching my FS I6X. Firmware is now from 20-09-2019 and I want the 10 channels activated. The Com 3 opends with succes, Detecting I6 transmitter.. detection fail.. time out. Than closing com3.. and thats it. Can somebody help me out?

Hi i updated my radio and it works great. Just have one question, i have 2 fsi6b recivers and on one of them i get rssi and everything else but on the second fsi6b i dont. Do you have to update the firmware on the reciver as well?

Very nice update. Seems I should convince my friend to upgrade his FS-i6X if this firmware is compatible with this newer radio version. How about audible alarms on VBat and RSSI telemetry readings? Are it is possible?
But stop fooling people about Taranis killer nonsense. They are not comparable even by switch types where lesser QX7 have more switches and 3 of them are 3-position switches. Also mixers, scripts, display options, voice alarm etc. which are even in QX7 but doesn't here.

Under alarm set to < 25 SNR and tune down from there. Thats how I have mine set.
MKme Lab Thanks. Been trying to bind my tiny whoop for a day an no luck so far. It's a ppm Rx. I set tx to ibus/ppm and turned AFHDS off an no good. Any ideas?
Yes there was a bug in the firmware shown in this video regarding AFHDS off function. Go to the RCGroups thread and see what the newest one is. I used bindfix_updater_05_21_23_14.bin and that fixed it for my Woop and QX90 Flysky receivers. There might be a newer one since. This firmware also fixes the bind button back to working instead of making you have to use the factory menu.

I bricked my Transmitter following exactly what you did which is no big deal.
IF ANYONE ELSE HAS BRICKED THEIRS.
Plug in the USB cable
Go into firmware update mode with the rudder trims
Follow the MKmes' 10ch Update video and run the same 10ch programmer again.
Mine showed up as "FLY-SKY I6 0.00" when I opened the COM port
then click program and it should be alive again with the 10ch update working.
Or be boring and run some kind of official firmware update, the choice is yours.
So. In the benb0jangles github link in the 10ch video, there is an executable firmware with the hali9 software in this video. Go into Firmware Update mode with the rudder controls, run the .exe from the "10ch qba667_hali9 Updater" folder, open port, program, done.

I can't connect my transmitter to PC. Programer say device not connected (I assign PORT 2 for FTDI), I use Win 10 BTW.
My stock COM port for it was 3 on Windows 10, but I had to manually tell the device manager to find the software for it. Showed up as "Silicon Labs CP210x USB to UART Bridge (COM3)" for me, Might be the same for you.

i have the i6 with 1.2 with 10 channel mod, i would like to update to 1.5 version for rssi in osd, or to add beeper alarm for osd on my i6... so far i have clicked about 20 links and github files and i have just not got anywhere. why is github so hard to direct people to? could somebody please link the updater app thing for windows and the firmware 1.5 link, i'm losing hope here. hehehe
i think i did the 10 channel mod using a mac so the updater isnt on this machine. its two files... it shouldnt take this long to find two files, github is always a nightmare to use for us noobs, so please somebody have mercy... show me two links.

ive been a mile out with stock antennas. Ive upgraded them since, just haven't had a chance to test the range.
I've never had a problem with range with mine, never had signal loss. I now have the modded antennas and it works even better.

There are far too many variables to the USB drivers as it depends on what serial converter you are using. There are FAR too many to link them all... Blog is up just fine too.

Power up both sticks down to the left and use that bind menu- if it works- you aren't using the newest firmware that the bind function is fixed. Refer to the RCgroups thread.
