KLAY IS DEF THE 1ST PERSON I SEEN JUS CATCH && PULL IN 1 MOTION💯
Nah it was Anthony Morrow
@@lildizzy52it was a lot of people. Not just one person
Bro you everywhere 😂
@@lildizzy52emphasis on the pronoun I 😏😏😏
@@Soopology I SEE EVERYTHING👁️
Man Klay is cool as a fan, man. How can anyone hate on this dude at all?
If you hate klay you are literally the devils brother cause only a person like that could hate a guy like klay
@@Fam1stCEOSo a man utd fan
If ur a Cavs fan☠️ or a warriors hater like Charles Barkley and KP
Idk ask Brooks
Didn’t like him bc of the antics until he manned up in this interview about how he can be insecure at times.
“Oh, thank you bro” 😂
Klay seem like such a chill, humble guy
Klay is TOOOO chill
And too cute 🥰
@@zayteer1657im gonna touch u
Klay has the best form of any shooter
Its close between him and Ray, I'll go with Ray
Idk about that top 5 forms for sure tho I’ve always felt Melo had the best form personally
Steph thinks so
he has the most generically perfect form
@@214silk2he shoots unorthodox, as bad of a tale as it gets
Curry’s shooting aspect: It all starts with your feet balanced
Thompson’s shooting aspect: don’t matter where your feet are!
Whos greater though?
They are different type of shooters though
@@EdwardWindhowl Ben simmons
I'd say they are both right but it's more about the skill of adapting your shot and being good at finding angles and power in any situation you find yourself while shooting. It's a fact that there is always an arc that sends the ball cleanly through the hoop and it is determined by your body's position and momentum. That's why you see both of them splash the most ridiculous off balance shots consistently. Adaptation and highly developed instinct is their true power.
@@EdwardWindhowlthere both great shooters shi they probably olmost the same on how klay beat curry’s record but there also different style of game clay a spot up shooter and curry be running with the ball
Dunno if Klay started it but he sure made it a thing. The flow from catch to release is so smooth.
Kawhi is really good at keeping the ball high too
milkal bridges too
And then there’s kd lol
@@Prabhbhole74447 KD releases high but likes to pull it from his left hip upwards. I'm honestly shocked he doesn't get stripped more.
He ain’t runnin tho
@@Prabhbhole74447he dips also but he 7ft so he can really get away w it
There were so many gems in this conversation! Keep rocking guys!🙏✌🏿🤗🙌
Hes so hot 🔥
10 years ago I was a die hard OKC fan, nowadays I still support. Moral of the story, respect Klay Thompson 😅
Definitely one of the best guest they had you could tell pg really appreciates klay and respects him a lot 🔥🔥🔥💯
These podcasts making it a better league they exposing skillsets
Those some sweet shooting mechanics from the goat shooter 🔥
They will always find reference on MJ! Respect man
Id actually say Kevin love pioneered that type of catch and shoot. He’s always keep the ball high and sometimes rarely dipped on his shot
Fun fact Kevin love and klay grew up playing together.
yep saw Bojan Bogdanovic doing those real fast recently
Anthony Morrow too, he’s an underrated shooter with a great form
Morrow one of the first@@themanwlthoutfear
I have seen a lot of Kevin Love highlights from his days in Cleveland, and I would say he does have a dip on most of his catch and shoot shots, albeit a small one and sometimes when the ball is passed right in his shooting pocket you'd see no dip at all. Often when he would shoot from the wing or corner as the ball would come from cross-court he'd dip the ball just to control it a little bit (LeBron can throw hard and fast passes).
steph even said if you want to make your shots its more about balance than your wrist
Steph also said it starts with your feet though 😅
@@tetrain2048 but he has a diffrent motion. Steph is also more adept then Klay at creating his own shot.
more for off the bounce than catch and shoot
One is also 6’3 the other 6’7 so on top of different style and form there’s a difference in strength and angle they can shoot at to make ball go in
@@defu8592also depends on what type of shooter you are, shooters like klay usually stay really close to the line so he doesn’t need much leg power but for shooters like steph u gotta generate power from your legs to launch that shit from 30 feet out
Klay referencing MJ is dope 🔥
Old coaches always used to say that dipping the ball is bad. Not true cause the vast majority of shooters dip, but Klay is one of the few that made the no-dip shot work for him
and giving props to the goat, man klay is such a great person srsly!
Klay gotta give props to Shintaro Midorima for putting him onto that technique
Yo fr😂 it started remind me of midorima
I was looking for this comment. Cultured fellow 🤝🏾
Was kinda sweet the way he went "oh thanks bro" when PG said Klay pioneered that style
When klay is in the zone, he is one of the most incredible athletes you'll ever see.
Man klay is unintentionally funny and down to earth, humble too. Cool dude.
This is hilarious because recently Steph was asked what tips of being a great shooter is and his answer was make sure you’re feet are balanced
And he is right but sometimes you wont be able to perfectly set your feet so you will have to rely on your upper body by squaring your shoulders to the basket
Everyone is different, it’s just the mechanics are the same.. but shooting form is unique to every player
This is an amazing Chanel
Klay one of my favorite basketball players, but when his feet/base isn't "structured" thats when he gets into shooting slumps and when he corrects it thats when hes making his shots, not saying he doesn't make shots when his feet aren't balanced or "correct" but it does effects his shooting
Focusing on keeping shoulders square is a true gem he just dropped
Klay is great at his fundamentals and he knows his strengths 💪 great role model 👏 👍
Clay is a master at his craft
He studies the greats
Duncan Robinson and Pat Connaughton are some of the best at the ‘catch high, keep high’
Fun fact, Pat learned from Kyle Korver
And he payed tribute, class act
Klay is the 🐐 at catch and shoot.
Klay just shot a air shot thats insane.... take notes look at the form and motion my goodness this guy is special
If you noticed, Klay hasn't had that signature square shoulder & beautiful release for the past 2 seasons. His shot form and selection has changed drastically which may explain why hes so inconsistent.
That’s Klizzy Klay right there
Klay is legendary
Stay ready so you don’t have to get ready there’s a reason he stands the way he does when waiting for the ball
I hope Klay gets back some of his prime. His injuries really robbed us
As a non shooter I tried implementing this to my pick up games and it’s worked out really well 🙏🏽
I see klay did that a lot while playing Boston. The release was so freaking fast
Klay is a Bad Man he can shoot 3 pointers.
Would love to see Klay become a shooting coach one day
catch high finish high is usually a big man concept. whether its a quick post pass or an o reb, catch high finish high equals higher efficiency. Works the same for shooting too. Rasheed Wallace, Dirk, and Pau Gasol's jumpers were like that to name a few.
KLAY GO PRACTICE
Klay my boy
To be fair, the “dip” is the shooters starting position.
In baseball or quarter back throwing, you want to start your motion from the same place for consistency.
Obviously if you have consistency without having to go to the starting position then skip it for faster releases
The best version of his no dip three, was against the Lakers, this last playoffs.
Thing is, they teach you in good shooting mechanics that your jumper STARTS from your legs to put the power into the shot, THEN you release and follow through like Klay typically does…He must have some VERY strong triceps muscles to NOT dip at all!
Klay Cold
Man, PG just being modest. PG's jumper is one the better looking jumper
PG and Klay work well together
A guy on my rec team does that, he's the best shooter I've ever seen in person.. I tried it a few times, not as easy as it looks
Yeah it takes a real shooter to know how to transfer enough energy into the ball without a dip.
Arms get tired fast
You have time your knee bend and release perfectly. If you release the ball after your feet have already left the ground you'll have no power, you should be releasing the ball right when you jump
My coach taught me that one day it was just me and him in the gym. No I never mastered it but I def was told to shoot where u catch the ball from. It’s harder than what people think especially when you’re use to dipping or going through full motion of jumper
I'm telling you he has the most beautiful shooting mechanic in the history of basketball
developing that skill is really helpful especially at the high levels because you’re not always gonna have time to dip
dude from Bodied just interviewing ball players now
Klay really dropped a gem here cus i keep the ball high in the middy n its became a shot i shoot wit confidence but when i think about it i keep the ball high never knew there was a term for it lol i watch MJ,Kobe,Kawhi n steal from their game
Klay is a national treasure
As a ball player I don’t bring the ball down when I shoot either 😂
It takes less time to get off
Nico Batum has a shot like this, he pops em up so fast from the corner
Fax bro the feet thing is such cap
Results
It is NOT cap. I'll use a rifle as an allegory.
Your feet = the rest you're using. So squared feet is like laying the rifle on a sturdy, unmoving rest. BUT you CAN shoot standing up, holding the rifle in your hands (= floater, feet not square to basket).
Your shoulders are the rear sights, your hands the front sights. As long as "the sights" are aligned, you'll hit the target; even if you're shooting from a standing position with no rest supporting the rifle, (= feet not squared, but shoulders are)
It's actually a post move and the player who started doing it was Jack Sikma. Catch the pass up high, keep it high, and shoot high. He also developed reverse pivots from post ups on the block. He played in the 1980s for the Supersonics and the Bucks. Signature moves.
jack sigma, what a name 😎
anthony Morrow pioneered the no dip
Study hi, take the test hi, get hi scores...Klay ain't fooln nobody
My favorite player
That's true because I've seen klay catch the ball with his feet facing away from the basket, just turn his torso and shoot.
I do that catch high shoot high thing all the time and im a freshman its helps with my consistency
Paul George gets it.
I swear to god I always said it look like he was already shooting before he even catch the ball lol I’m glad I ain’t the only one notice how fast his release is
Catch and shoot klay, what u gotta say 🤷
Klay defs said it lmaooo. Ma man
This is why I'm excited about wemby he better be snatching 3:s
I know we are in different times but, I wish there were still rivalries. If I’m Klay, I’m not hopping on Paul George’s podcast cause of the warriors/clippers rivalry
I used to coach a basketball team maybe six or seven years ago I used to train them just shoot the ball back way. It took a while for them to get used to it but once they did or once they commit to doing it correctly the one that did was Unstoppable
Yo klay practice form is so beautiful wtf
Huge problem today from young players is they start their jumper almost from the waist, then launch from the front of their face, they need to release the ball HIGH!
Klay about to having me punching air since he on the mavericks
Klay learned from the Goat
True fact Klay.
I see y’all aren’t familiar with Anthony Morrow….
I was lookin for exactly this
Exactly I just said this lol he had me practicing that shit way back I’m actually good at it now
Facts.. used to do I in OKC
Love Klay. Great shooter
Hate Klay. Terrible shooter.
Klay & Korver 🔥
This dude klay is the guy with glasses from that one anime
Honestly, first person i saw do it is Sasha Vajacic (spell check name). Watched the lakers a lot. Dude had no dip on the shot
That’s crazy because most of the time he does dip the ball lol
Klay shooting pockets are GODLY!!!
I never noticed it before but Jack Harlow and Klay have the same type cadence when they talk 😂
“niggas up here everytime, unblockable” - Klay.
Him and Tim Duncan were probably the most disciplined about keeping the ball high away from defenders it's funny how it all goes back to fundamentals 😂
That’s definitely dope
Klay already perfected is mechanics so much that he can do things that violates the fundamentals.. like not dipping the ball etc..
Catch high keep it high got it.
Anthony Morrow from OKC as well!
Klay's Daddy helped put that in him. Just like Dell put in Steph!!
We can argue about greatest shooters of all time, but there is no question in my mind that he has the most fundamental perfect textbook jumper of all time.
Facts real game 💯
Pg: “I wanna say you pioneered that”
Klay:”oh thank you man” 😂😂 klay is hilarious
Great advice
Anthony Morrow was also very good at this! Jump shot wasn’t as pretty but was butter, especially with the Thunder!
Yeah. In 2k14, I get 4 assists from him every game.
Klay can catch the ball anywhere and still shoot it in one motion. Something you dont notice that other ppl just cant or wont do. He will catch it above his head, or off centre near his shoulder and hell jus shoot
