The D-Pad control's odd config is because the settings are for a wiimote vertically, but NSMB plays sideways but to where the DPad is on the LEFT side of the wiimote, so it has to use the down button to go to the right and so on
There’s a setting in the Dolphin controller setup which allows you to emulate a WiiMote in a sideways configuration. This will fix your “button reverse” issue. Settings / Controllers / Wii Remote 1 / Configure / Options / tap the Sideways Wii Remote slider
if fps high but still lagging...you need to change quality to high...if 2x 60fps lagging so change to 3x 4x or above..just playing with quality until you get good result.. it work for me...

I have a concern, I've got that "fancy" grip for my DS4 it really changes the experience, but can you please briefly explain to me how to configure motion so that dolphin reacts to my phone's movement or DS4 movement? or how to emulate ir pointer without touching the screen? at least with DS4 touchpad. I would really like to play mario galaxy without constantly switching between controller emulation modes. Even new super mario sucks when it comes to tilt those "seesaw" things, they will only tilt to one side. Thanks in advance man.

When checking the button mapping it's still all set up but like I say the controller doesn't work in game. Any idea what I'm doing wrong? P.S. The controller doesn't work for the game controls but it still let's me select games in the menu and the circle button brings up the settings menu in game. Also I'm playing (or trying to) on a Samsung tab.

I assume it would be the exact same process except at Settings > Wii Remote chose the Wii Remote 2 option (rather than Wii Remote 1 which is what you just set up in this tutorial), select "Emulted" when the radio button options come up and then configure the buttons in the same way.
@@TwinCherryStudio was playing sonic and the secret rings The weird part is, is that even when I didn't have any controls set up and first tested the game out to see if it I downloaded the right version I started out moving the right. Even when messing with the controls somehow I started moving the left instead of the right for some odd reason. Another guy had the same issue in 2015 and still hasn't gotten an answer. The game isn't unplayable since the game doesn't allow to stop moving forward (unless you brake) so it's possible to just suck it up and play with this minor issue but if I could fix it that would be great. (Just realized how long this was my bad LOL)

Try making a hotkey for sideways toggle, doing that helped me.
