I really enjoy when you commentate your own competative matches. It has all of the polish of an excellent cast with the additional insights that are only possible because you were the one actually playing the game.
@@CSHummerWhat? Artosis is definitely a pro and pro level. Yeah, he gets bullied by the likes of Snow, but then so do pro's on ASL. He's really turned down the whine on his own channel, and there's less of this "oh yea, this game is so over" five times in a single game with twists and turns - check it out, see if it's not a lot better than his GSL casts.
Doing all those cannon rush, 1 base all in all those winning with stupid stuff, well i feel it paid of, you are more agressive, blood in the water shark. I think it made you more decisive and confident. Well played sir, stronger the older you get imagine how strong you ll be at 80 years old
Saw the second game live - during the game it felt like such a hard shut down that there was no sense for how dangerous his play was and how much trouble you were in, thanks for explaining it!
I watched game 2 live as well. Harstem made it look so easy I assumed that was a standard and easy defense. Congrats on the win, Harstem! Good luck in the next round!
@@samueltemple9113yeah as a diamond toss, I've never held a 12 pool playing nexus first. You're supposed to do a very specific response to survive. (Harstem has a guide). You build a 2nd gate and a core to wall off, and an extra pylon to avoid a supply block. You are building a zealot during this time and chronoing it when it's about 70% done (not immediately, otherwise you get supply blocked), then queue a zealot behind it, and have a probe hold position at the opening of the wall to prevent lings from getting in.
15:20 Nice win! I can see you were really pleased with that one, you absolute booorglar! XD He must have been kicking himself that 12-pool lings traded so poorly against probes, LOL
Love your style, reminds me so much of why I loved GSL so much more than other tournaments in the early days (and was willing to watch in 320p) But the way you study your opponents and adjust your play to the player is really fascinating and fun to watch. Ive always found the "meta" game between specific players to be super interesting, especially when they have a week or more to prepare for a specific set
That's something you might want to work on, Not looking at the time as much, feeling it instead. Just knowing it, and let your subconscious figure it out. Then when delayed, u instinctively are way more accurate, and smooth. 13:07
Wrt the last game, I feel like some more defensive stasis would have been good ahead or during the roach bane push- might have been easier to make the rotation w/o losing templar for example. And you gotta shift click the oracle away after making it, seeing an oracle hanging out inactivated is a blaring warning that a stasis could be underneath! Excellent, top-tier play overall
From the second game, you should do beating grandmasters with stupid stuff. Early oracle harrass with a pyrlon near enemies base with a battery or 2 and just endless worker harrass.
Love the content. Also I have a question: Is it viable for zerg to block protoss gases at the start of the game with 2 drones. Thus delaying any tech by repeatedly canceling/starting extractors?
Low elo player here so i am probably wrong but wouldn't that be so bad on eco side from zerg that the protoss could just 3/4 gate with zealots and win?
In the last game, is there any reason to not get void rays? You have stargate from making oracles. 1-2 voids could be good no? Or was templar highest prio. With no anti air feel like 1-2 void could get lots of dmg out. Also maybe force his ravager to waste shots on your voids.
You should pull a Jynxzi, and VS every rank from bronze to GM. (or up to someone like Maru, Dark or Serral I would cream) Throw on a twist like every game you have to do a different strat if you want to make it more you. Hey bro, I know you read this so don't sweat replying you good homie.
I don't understand your choice of build order in game one. You said yourself that ravagers and queens attack ks are very strong on this map. Yet you play glaives. Seems counterintuitive. Why not play robo or blonk or charge or storm or stargate
Moreover, the only use for those adept is to make time for immortals, which you wouldn't have to do if you just build immortals. You make a counter attack against a zerg that is all inning you and get a third quite quick
Ok they are still good against zealots. I almost think the bane nerf was a buff, because zerg shouldn't have been building them anyway, in either matchup.
I really enjoy when you commentate your own competative matches. It has all of the polish of an excellent cast with the additional insights that are only possible because you were the one actually playing the game.
Tbf pros casting games is always better imo as they just have a deeper understanding overall.
@@speedfastman You mean artosis complaining about protoss constantly isn't peak casting?
@@CSHummer It's 100% peak casting, but he should really be complaining more about defilers

This is the most dramatic villain lighting imaginable. You look like you're about to kill James Bond
I think it might be more appropriate to say he's going to kill Batman in this case

yeah, the "eye of the tiger" stuff XD
so you're telling me he beat Wayne with stupid stuff? What a plot twist
The two plotlines merging
Year of Harstem!!!
He lost already 3-0 against clem
IMO we are seeing the best Harstem ever. And it's not only this tournament, it's the whole year already.
Congratz!

The oracle harrass on that second game was top notch
Talking about ugly walls 18:00 . Did you learn that from SkyStalker from the last IODIS episode?
😂

That smile on your face in the end man... so good. Tnx for the entertainment.
Watched the whole series. Harstem is obviously favored, but holysh`t, its an evovled harstem we see now. Hope he gets deeper in the tournament 🎉
Against Clem? Haha 😄 He's not fast and consistent enough, yet, to beat Clem.
@@ChingueSaganaki He'll be knocked down to the lower bracket then, though.

These first person analysis of serious games videos are fascinating to this long time hobbyist
Watching you beat the 12 pool no scout was quite an eye-opener. Also the dance against teh roach ravagers in teh game before. Learned a lot.
Congratulations! Love to see you cast your own games and the thought process
WOW that 12 Pool hold was INSANE Harstem!! SICK hold!!
best luck vs Clem, Captain!
I really like the thought process during the replay in first person view. I wish more zergs would do this.
One of the best series you have ever played. You looked invincible.
That 12 pool hold was art!
26:40 This moment. yeah zealots jus standing there all this time while you holding swarm at home
Great series! All the prep is really paying off. I love watching your videos.
Looked like a literal immovable object in this series cap. Good job, good luck in your next game.
Good video! Seen it already!
Workers have more attack range now, they are better than ever.
Very cool games! That 12 pool hold was nuts!
I watched this series live on rotti's channel. I was honestly shocked when you held the ravager push while sending your adepts across the map.
Congratulations!! And best of luck against Clem, I am cheering for you!!!🎉
BGMWSS idea: get an oracle, do 1 tickle to each (or almost each) workers, then storm drop.
dang... harmstem is pretty fast. Love seeing your progression and hear your though process. Let's win this tournament :)
Twitch chat was trying really hard to figure out what the purpose of that wall was xD
9:36 that zealot actually baited him so hard.
Year of harstem! Good luck vs Clem

Captain, Clem is a monster, please let The Cheesiest Man Alive take the wheel!!!
Great stuff thanks for the video Harstem!
Please do more of these kind of videos!
i love it when kevin teaches us how to think
Go, Captain!
Wishing you the best of luck against Clem, and hopefully you will make another video like this of that series.
so beautiful games, congrats!
I love that type of contentm, that is great!!!

[April 28, 2024 - 16:00 CEST --> Clem vs Harstem]
Grats, Harstem. Wish you success vs Clem, he's gonna be a real tough one to crack I presume.
Your PvZ propably has to be one of the best at the moment.
What microphone do use, harstem?
Good luck against Clem :)
Fan of clem but fan of your content also, so is gonna be a really good matchup
cheers!
Hey captain, why is templar better than switching into tempest or even throwing in a void or two?
Good games.

No, lost income in the two drones and the freedom to take the gasses in a natural just makes it more risk than reward.
Feels weird for a competitor to focus on not losing instead of focusing on winning.

Watching this game made me realise how it would be useful to have say healing units that are only good at low levels
What exactly do you mean by that?
not adding in some archons at 23-24 minutes feels wrong

Got the very rare NN.
GL with clem
What's the chance of Harstem winning against Clem?
Come on crimson court being the best map for Zerg? The captain is playing tricks
Half fake your best cheese captain, and play confident macro based on their response. They are onto you.. be careful. GGs
Harstem for the win!

Banelings suck against literally every unit
Ok they are still good against zealots. I almost think the bane nerf was a buff, because zerg shouldn't have been building them anyway, in either matchup.
The Zerg players are forced into building them, it's none-viable to play without Banelings.
I watched it. It was so impressive 🥹
