- This was NOT a pleasant experience. Colette's artes have so many delays in them. Virtually none of them are true for combos. Torrential Para Ball is probably her best physical arte. A lot of her artes have nice knockback, but either the startup or endlag are too extreme for them to be useful, even after a normal attack. It's best to keep your distance when using Collete, and use her Angelic Spells. Don't even get me started on how dumb the whole Holy Judgment mechanic works. Randomness? When I want to use Holy Judgment, I don't want it to be luck based. I need to be able to rely on it for damage. Whose idea...? Wait, this is Symphonia after all. They probably didn't come to this conclusion at that point, right? Colette Solos? I don't know about that. Her Physical Defence is abysmal. Maybe Spell Cancelling will help, but I wouldn't count on it.(Unless you have the enemy in a corner with it's back facing you for guard breaks or something, idk)
Some of those projectile based artes are cool too. Only on manual though.

I remember I made Colette my main character for a majority of my first playthrough when I was a kid. I just loved how she had angel powers. Course now i see that she is probably the worst controlled character in the game lol.
Funny thing about that. I've been told the best way to play a game is to simply play the way you enjoy yourself the most. Like playing sith your favorite character.
I have passed a lot of games that and the funny thing is that way and I later find out that it was either the weakest, hardest to use or useless.
It's not like this game is hard.

Hammer Rain is so hilarious. I love that they made it a linked arte in the Xillias.
Hammer Rain is an awesome arte, as you can either use it to hit multiple enemies using it's AoE effect, or if the enemy is big enough, it can get all 10 hammers to connect and deal a ton of damage. Then again, her artes that can be learned from Pow Hammer are good in general, with Para Ball in particular being surprisingly powerful for a mid level arte

i laughed so hard with Hammer Rain
Basing on fighting game experience here, but something tells me she’s supposed to be a mid-ranged keepaway character like Dhalsim, Amane or Axl, but...
anyone who’s more experienced in fighting games, let me know.
Wolfedge75 She's more of a mixed attacker. Some of her artes can only be used from a distance, while others only inflict maximum damage up close. It's all up to the user's playstyle. Most would indeed go the mid-range route, and go for a stun, then use magic in the meantime. Torrential Para-ball, among other artes, is such a good arte to keep away as well, so you're spot on.
@@imackshungames4304 she is actually the best at beating large enemies and crowds, triple ray satellite shreds the final boss and dragons she was a lot better in GC version since you could tech glitch hammer rain and para ball which are her best artes and her holy judgement was easier to find as well since back then the select character courser was on holy song and if it didnt show up holy judgement was coming. usually all her S-side artes are best her only good combo is 2 neutral attacks- para ball - then any of her tier 3 artes. I main her when im not using presea
@@lilharper17 2 years late... but you use anyone other than Lloyd? I'm at Asgard for the first time and while I tried using others, Lloyd feels like the most fun and optimiced for Manual control.

For someone with light or divine power, it is actually a relief that her weakness or flaw is being a clutz.
There are already quite a few characters that are light or divine based, yet bad or evil.
It's been a while since I played Symphonia but there was this part where Colette had to play along as being 'evil' but it still comes of as being a klutz and cute.
