Interesting concept! I like it:) I hope they bring it back! Far more interesting than just showing some drawings and sketches. Really shows how important costumes are and why the films are nominated
No kidding! So far here are my picks for best costumes so far this year; The Great Gatsby (naturally), The Iceman, Blancanieves, Lovelace, and Effie Grey (haven't seen the movie but the photos show beautiful work by Ruth Myers).
Costume Design is the one category where more often than not ALL of the nominees are at the top of their game and the ultimate choice is merely academic (though to be honest, Ms. Aldredge's costumes - for their sheer numbers and exquisite detailing - those beads! - couldn't help but win. And how many Broadway veterans alight in Hollywood and get a call from Macy's (or was it Bloomies?) for permission to do a 'Gatsby' line?
One of the best Oscar presentations I've ever seen :)
A fine woman indeed!!!! RIP Lauren Bacall!!!!! To me, this is her looking her best at any Oscars with that sexy black dress!!!!

Probably takes too much time
Lauren Bacall looks fabulous!
The humbleness in her voice is gorgeous, the performances had me clapping in my room!!
All the nominees for Best Costume Design were Paramount films!!
Love the live presentation by actual people before the days of computers and high definition! It’s a bit awkward in some parts, still very nice.
You cannot keep yoir eyes off Lauren Bacall who had just made orient express which is by far the best and it should have won costume design that year
And in six months, The Great Gatsby will win AGAIN in this category.
lauren bacall is fierce, love her
and the Oscar 2014 for Costume Design goes to: The Great Gatsby - Catherine Martin
Theoni Aldredge = pure CLASS...in every sense of the word!!
1:20 Chinatown the musical - preview!
The Great Gatsby has great costume design.
Thank you, thank you, thank you for putting up the costume design winners you totally rock!!!
This is really something special. Why don't they do this every year?
If they do it every year then it’s not special anymore

It's really cool that Theoni and Catharine both won oscars for different versions of the story.
Shirley skin look so soft and silky white pale satin skin...!!!

An interesting thing in oscar history The Great Gatsby also in 2012
Costume Design of 1974? The Great Gatsby, of course.
Oscars just isn’t the same anymore so sad .
Please upload Colleen Atwood winning for both Chicago & Memoirs of a Geshia!
“Oh so they’re all dancing”
As of now, it looks like Catherine Martin is the current frontrunner to win next year for the '13 Great Gatsby.
Costume Design for Romeo and Juliet, 1968 please.
She hostedthis category multiple times.
One more of the not-so-few Greek Hollywood Superbads.
Farrow was luminous and Redford,perfect.
Wonderful
those mics lol
WTH great Gatsby beat orient express ? No way
The black girl dancing with the Chinatown dancers was not wearing anything from the film. Why was she there?
To make the Oscars look good
Great pick up and yes you are spot on
1. Get your eyes checked; she's clearly Asian, 2. the outfit WAS in the film on an extra.
She's Asian, you moron.
An absolutely horrid film with horrid performances. It bore no relation to its source material.
