Hi Alan, I love your channel and find myself in agreement with most of your opinions. For what it's worth, I would really recommend looking into the Orthodox church before converting to Catholicism. Although it isn't as widely practiced here in the states it is the original church founded by our Lord Jesus Christ and remains intact to this day. I recently converted myself and truly believe that it is a gem waiting to be discovered by more Americans. Thanks for what you do!!

I don't have a PhD in history, yet I am an American history buff in a way especially the civil war and later history, and you are correct about the status of our nation... btw... years ago I had several occasions to sit and talk with Shelby Foote in his home before he passed. Mr. Foote was probably one of the most if not the most intelligent historians I have ever talked with.
Totally correct about unity. Even if unity was possible with such culturally opposed peoples, I wouldn’t even want to be united with these people. In my home state of Virginia, they were not satisfied with removing Lee’s memorials (an absolute tragedy), but they just renamed a school named after Thomas Nelson. Thomas Nelson, the patriot, war hero, signer of the Declaration of Independence and governor of Virginia. A great man whose reputation is apparently not good enough for the self-righteous imbeciles who now inhabit my once-great state. Everyone who was paying attention when they were taking down Confederate monuments knew that the founders were next on the chopping block. We are living with people who don’t have any respect for the past and they won’t stop until they’ve removed all mention of the people that built this country.
