Ben is actually kind of charming isn't he? Came away from this with a whole new opinion of the guy. He's not mean or cruel at all. If anything, the ideas he lays out all seem to come from a place of deep compassion. It's too bad people can't recognize that by not placating folks, he's really treating his audience with the utmost respect.
I've even seen clips of talks he's given in which he's been questioned by a guy who identified himself as a socialist, and Ben made a point of saying the guy would be treated with respect during his talk even despite the guy making an uncalled for jab at the audience of Ben's fans. This, despite the fact that there have been huge campaigns to shut Ben out by members of the hard left who disagree with them. It really gave me new respect for Ben, while distancing me a bit further from the left I once identified so strongly with. Afterall, here Ben was, showing kindness and compassion to a member of the very group that has tried to shut Ben down so many times, and even despite the guy himself being rude at Ben's talk. He really does come from a place of compassion, and that has helped me to be far more open to listening to his views, and even realizing that I actually agree with him on some points, when I never would have been open to listening had it not been for his compassion.
@@ravenestrella2310 I highly recommend listening to his daily podcast to hear another POV on the current news. He often calls out Trump for the stupid stuff he says/does. It's refreshing to listen to someone who isn't held down by a party, but instead by the constitution. I consider myself a conservative-libertarian, and I think Ben does as well for the most part.
@@traviswieser Travis Wieser The first time I ever heard Ben Shapiro speak on anything, it was when I caught a segment of him on Joe's show that had been uploaded to RUclips. I was shocked to find myself laughing out loud as Ben called Trump out for pandering to his voters by waving a Bible around and pretending to be such a strong believer in the sanctity of marriage, when in reality Trump's had so many affairs that even Trump's lost count of how many he's had! Shocked the hell out of me, because there Ben was, calling Trump out on his BS in the exact same way I've been calling Trump out on his BS when it comes to claims about how he's such a strong believer in the sanctity of marriage, when he clearly isn't! So there I was, actually agreeing on something with the very same guy so many of the hard leftists I know had deemed the Anti-Christ incarnate! He also stated that he believes that drugs should be legalized, thus making that twice in only a 30 minute segment that he surprised me by showing me that there was yet another topic he and I agree on. It showed me that he really isn't the terrible guy he's sadly been painted as being by a lot of leftists. While I don't agree on a lot of what I've heard since first catching him on here, he comes from a place of compassion, and he's far more reasonable than he's been made out to be. You are right BTW--he stated on Joe's show that he's a Libertarian, just as you are. I will say, I think he has a blind spot when he claims to stick to the Constitution. He said on Joe's show that he wants us to stay true to the beliefs of our founding fathers, and that that's what he means when he says we need to stay true to the Constitution. But our founding fathers didn't believe that Black people deserved any rights at all, and that women didn't deserve the right to vote. As decent of a guy as he is, though, I seriously doubt he wants to see either Black people or women robbed of their rights, in which case, he has to admit that he doesn't really want to return to the exact beliefs of our founders like he claims, but to stay true to the spirit of the Constitution, while keeping with the beliefs of our times--which is exactly what people on the left want to do. It's just that the left's interpretation of what it means to stay true to the spirit of the Constitution differs significantly from his interpretation. But for Ben to claim to want to stick to the beliefs of our founding fathers is to turn a blind eye to his own biases. I mean, he's stated that gay people aren't a protected group under the Constitution because our founders didn't see them as a protected group. Well, our founders didn't see Black people as a group protected under the Constitution either, yet I'm sure Ben believes Black people deserve Constitutional rights. So, then, why don't gay people? In reality, it's his prejudices showing through. He no more truly wants to adhere 100% to our founders. beliefs than anyone else. That said, he views certainly are free of a great deal of the biases of the groupthink that dominates both the right and the left. And, he is an incredibly intelligent guy who challenges my views and makes me think, which is always appreciated! So, yeah I really appreciate your recommending his podcast, and will definitely check it out!

@bowskiblog Joe kept pushing the subject when it was clear Ben either agreed with him, or didn't know enough to talk about it. Don't bring Ben on your show to talk about weed.

I disagree with Ben on some of the topics discussed and I disagree with Joe some of his too. But these two showed and taught me an enormous amount in the way they behaved and communicated throughout this whole discussion. Well done, fucking excellent podcast, both of you.
One important behavior is missing though. Ben should represent Sam's arguments accurately. For example Ben proposed deism ("something may exist") and questioned whether Sam's believes are so different, when in reality, Sam is arguing against theism and religion at large, not some ideology that is carefully constructed not to be falsifiable. Ben's comments on free will are also deeply misleading. Sam has explicitly stated that he acts as if he had free will and he'd even teach his kids the same, despite not believing in free will.
@@MisterFerjo Joe directly asked about topics he disagrees with. But they're both aware they probably can't change the others mind. Bring the counter argument into light and let the viewer decide. Buckling down trying to convince the other isn't a good way to debate.

He is also gay. But I mean... it is quite reasonable to call him alt right. Ben Shapiro's political opinions are very much *right*-leaning. But his lifestyle and the fact that he is jewish make him *alternative*. So he is *alternative-right* - as opposed to your typical old fashioned (probably gay hating) right winger. I once saw a version of the political compass that included a scale for traditional beliefs. And I think that might differentiate "alt-right" from "trad-right". If you look the definition up you may find that alt right can be conceptualized as "a disorganized group that broadly shares a number of goals and beliefs". "The alt-right is not an organized movement, and has no formal institutions or leading elite. "It is a predominantly online phenomenon". So it seems like all it needs is to be on far right of the political spectrum and hold some sort of rightwing anti-establishment / enough-SJW-nonsense mind set. To me it seems like it is a new word for a more contemporary version of/within the same political spectrum. In the end... since there is no precise definition of alt-right, you can pretty much group every new internet persona on the right into the category alt-right.

David Nichts That’s one of the big problems regarding dmt experiences, it’s pretty close to impossible to explain the experience to someone who hasn’t been in that state of mind. The experience in it self can’t be explained in our vocabulary, but when you’re in that mental state your mind adapts to a unfamiliar language yet so familiar. You basically think and exist within conscious geometry with the ability to grasp extra dimensional concepts like observing a point from thousand angles at ones. You have no reference of frame, you’re just aware of everything, everywhere at once from every observable point possible. You observe into the abyss while observing right back at yourself. You’re everything and everywhere at once like a singularity. You understand every cosmic geometry like it’s your mother tongue and with that ability you think outside the realm of what you can perceive normally. You observe both the beginning and the end simultaneously. It’s like reading a new book but you know the whole story as soon as you open the book. You fully grasp concepts like time, space, energy, vibration, consciousness, dimensions, harmony, chaos, order, geometry and life while you’re there. It’s less complicated than taking a breath, but as soon as you get back into yourself you forget how to surf the waves of that fundamental universal language. Ofc you’ll see see things like patterns, symbols, fractal geometry and beings etc. But what you see isn’t what’s important. The important aspect is the “thing” you can’t communicate with words. The merging with the universal consciousness, a singularity without boarders, size and space. A single point which engulfs everything that is and nothing at the same time. I know it’s complicated as fuck and this explanation doesn’t make its justice, but that’s why you have to experience it for yourself. When you’ve been there all makes sense. It’s like being blind from birth and for the first time seeing you’re like “holy fuck I never could have imagined this but ofc this is it!”. It’s like a whole new sense which you’ve never experienced but still you know the sense like you know your mother. Your sober mind isn’t designed to comprehend the higher dimension of consciousness, so even if you’ve experienced it you will forget it as soon as you leave that state of mind. The only thing you’re left with is the visuals. You still know deep down inside exactly how it is but if you try to replicate it through memory you’ll get the feeling of being inside out, observing 360 degrees while looking into the singularity at the same time you’re looking out and that will just mindfuck you. At this point I give up explaining this shit because it’s impossible. It won’t make sense, but you know even if you haven’t tried that it makes sense in a way you can’t quite put your finger on. All I can say, try it and everything will make sense. Hahaha Btw I’m describing the dmt breakthrough. You basically get the answer to everything but you don’t get to keep it.
Saying sorry is like wrapping up a wound you still intentionally stabbed them in the bank therefore the damage is done and the scar will remain too remind them of the tragedy which has them facing trauma at the same time

Yeah, a lot of ignorant people hate on Ben for absolutely no reason at all. It's annoying, but not surprising in today's world.

Sam has explicitly stated that he acts as if he had free will and he'd even teach his kids the same, despite not believing in free will.

a jew being accused of being alt right.. welcome to the 21st century.

Joe said it’s because of language
It's not minority pleasing, and its modertly conservative. It has no chance.
Court B because you’re an ass home
this is the best, most refreshing combo. 2 men that are able to understand each other’s rationale and if they lack understanding are able to rationalize a logical standpoint based on what the other person says. truly a thing of beauty when 2 differing standpoints are able to converse calmly and change each other’s minds about certain things.
Well said dude, it sure is great to see, this is how politics should be; full of rational debate and not hate spam....
I don't know man, I don't think Joe understands that Ben is ok with legalizing pot xD
I liked the fact how they kept calm the whole way that’s why I came back
I'm so glad Joe brought up cannabis. Talking about it constantly isn't enough.
That was a bit cringe
Dj13e36 he was so annoying during that part
For real man... I was like, dude, he agrees with you... Drop it. Haha.

Joe “ Ben you know Moses did dmt and you should too” rogan
Rogan is a dumb closed minded to facts, hack!👎🏿👎🏿
@@shreeded what?
Underland Rising he meant Benjamin
Does joe have evidence that moses used dmt?🙂
carl page I would say it’s more likely he did dmt or some sort of psychedelic than him being able to talk with burning bushes 😂
A civil conversation.
If only all sides could communicate this way
Yep But Ben shapiro insist on calling people Anti-semites
optimistically cynical . Not seen a single debate where that has been the case you prick. However, I have seen him called alt-right, Nazi, Racist and fascist by people speaking to him. Grow up.
There has been over 40 years of educated thought pushed on the Western world that makes this unwanted. Fight leftist bullshit, peacefully, wherever you see it. The last time this garbage became popular, the logical and decent people ignored them until they took to terrorism in the 60s, 70s and 80s out of desperation. It will happen again. They will ultimately be exposed as the actual radicals.
Agree
@@optimisticallycynical.814 what? Do you have a source? I've heard him call people out from the alt right for making anti semitic remarks about him, which they have, but I've never heard him use it out of context, or to aid an argument... Ever

Joe keeps trying so hard to fight the argument of the legal aspect of pot despite Ben agreeing completely.
Jux Ben agrees with the legality, the whole debate they had was a moral debate.
I think Joe prepared for a entire show where ben disagrees. a little annoying
@@mikeymiami6643
You annoyed, bitch ?
@@mikeymiami6643 Not really annoying to me; they agree on the legal aspect and got that out of the way quickly - not very interesting.

Playback speed at 0.75. Ben sounds like a normal person and Joe sounds like a drunkard who just ate at Cheesecake Factory.
Truth
And if you playback at 0,50 Joe starts to sound like Dr Phil!
🤣
Mmmmm... Cheesecake Factory...
I laughed so hard for no reason.
Weed was a gateway drug to get into discussion about other drugs.
Actually milk is to blame. Virtually everyone who has used heroin or crack started with milk. Causation is required in order to claim it’s a “gateway drug “ .
@@newclownorder that doesn't work... coz you can say "parents are to blame" coz everyone have parents. Or food is to blame, coz everyone got to eat.

I really want to see Alex jones have Ben Shapiro and Joe rogan on infowars. Ben will be ranting on judeo-christian values, Alex yelling about human-animal hybrids in china, and joe talking about taking DMT and meeting machine elves
@Mr. Derp hear, hear. Judeo-Christian values is an oxymoron.
@Mr. Derp if you were a true Christian you would understand that Jesus came to earth to DIE.
it was his intention to die here
Mr. Derp found the anti-Semite
@Mr. Derp Jews are allowed to deny that Jesus is the Messiah. It is not for you to cast stones at them. God will deal with them as he sees fit.
For you to CLAIM, that the Jews alone were responsible for Jesus' death as if it was not his choice, is just as bad as denying he is the Messiah. Leave Jews alone, besides if you want God to return, the TEMPLE MUST BE REBUILT
Jesus was Jewish and the Disciples were all Jews. Hurts, doesn't it?
Joe: "I don't want to let this Marijuana thing go just yet"
he never does

I went into this podcast with assumption that Ben Shapiro was gonna say a bunch of stuff I would dislike & disagree with. But I have to say, I came out with a lot more respect for the man. Also that impersonation of Trump was on point.
It's because Joe doesnt play left or right. He just wants to get to the bottom of things
I don’t agree with a lot of what Shapiro says, but I respect the guy
@@fastfaps I do up to a point. Joe Rogan is part of the reason i stopped listening to him.
Ben has an agenda. And he's always going to argue for that agenda whether he's right or wrong. And he'll offer stats and facts often without context that support his belief as opposed to looking at things objectively. Joe doesnt often doesnt have a dog in the race.
the media was brainwashing you
K Dizzy that’s all it takes is to sit and talk with someone instead of listening to the bullshit media that paint a demon picture of him. Thanks for hearing him out and being civil.
I am sadly in that very small group that are addicted to weed. Been smoking since I was 16. Wish I never started.
I'm sorry to hear and I hope you'll get better 😔
Damnit I love Joe's podcast but every damn time it sounds like, "Hey, do you have a moment to talk about our lord and savior pot?"
Far more effective than prayer....
Shankabottomus you wish.
It does not matter whether it is or isn't, if it works for you awesome. All I am saying is he pushes pot conversion harder than most Christians push converts for religion.
Pffft ok then
@michaelatw86 don't let Joe see that, you'll be getting a talking to.
Hey, how about a round of applause for joe this time around. It took him 34 min before he mentioned dmt.
david ramirez If you’ve tried it you’d get why he’s so fascinated by dmt.
@@RafaelTopgunStudios nah thanks I'm good I don't need a door to an other dimension, I'm pretty happy with the dimension I'm in lmao
David Nichts I don’t think you get the idea
@@RafaelTopgunStudios that's how they described it on the podcast that's the only thing I know about it. So why don't you break it down for me?
Hahaha
Btw I’m describing the dmt breakthrough. You basically get the answer to everything but you don’t get to keep it.
Joe: "But have you ever tried being an Orthodox Jew on DMT..??"
Wow ive never seen a DMT joke nice one
