Thank you for sharing those pics. I especially liked the one at the end of your baby dreads. They look just like mine and it was reassuring to see a visual like that.
Amber Daily same here I've had mine for a month and seeing those pics set me at ease! my dreads are fine and doing good thanks now my 10 year old his hair is like lazy dreads first picture it just made him feel better he gets mistaken for a girl often so hearing that he isn't the only boy who had long hair get called a girl thanks so much for this video! now I just have to find a shampoo that works
Nice. Judging by your shirts, you have nice taste in music. Also judging by that, you will probably take it as a compliment when I say that you look like a young Max Cavalera. Wonderful videos by the way. We are starting my wife's hair tonight.
I'm 14. I literally started my dreads 2 days ago and i the feeling of them even tho they're new. Although I am getting teased a bit for being "The white one with dreadlocks".. XD
Even if you're White it doesn't matter the Picts of Scotland had Dreadlocks, Women in ancient China had dreadlocks, Egyptians had dreadlocks, Africans had dreadlocks.
Cute young dreadhead 😍 I had my dreads done when i was 15 so i feel very identified! first year with my pointy baby dreads at high school was weird but cool 😂 i loved wearing them for more than 10 years until they weighted too much and started partially combing/cutting them. Now 35 years old i've started again (or rejoined the journey😬) and still learning, and you are helping a lot!! Thanks 💜
Awwww you looked so young! Awww. It must have been cool to have parents support you when doing that to your hair though. I know my mum would have killed me if i got dreads as a teen. I got a large tattoo on my stomach instead at 15 🤣 i could hind that lol. Thanks for showing this.
1:31 lol thats exactly how my hair looks and im 13. I am starting dreadlocks today and i got some in. Thats why i am confident with getting dreadlocks. They can look bad through the progression but i dont really care about what people think.
Thank you Chris for that post. My hair was like yours and I hope mine will mature as yours have. You give grate information and inspiration for what I have to come. My RnT with crochet will be 6 months 12/18/14 that are 3/4 x 3/4 to equals 70 sections. I have gone natural and will post a picture on my 1 year anniversary and maybe get on your dreads of the month. Thanks again for the information to help me
i'm excited to start mine, i have the same hair type pretty much. it's very thick and straight and flips on the ends when it gets so long. my hair is pretty short now but i'm in the process of growing it out. I'm 22 also :)
what did your family think of you getting dreads? i recently started mine and my mum keeps telling that they are feral and that i should just be happy with normal hair
So funny first Guns'n Roses to Slayer t-shirts when you where a youngster, now a GTA shirt when growing up,you become softer when aging, but your hair is harder ;)
what method did u use like twist and rip or Backcomb? Im thinking about getting some lol my hair is way too short however I want dreads down to like my shoulders, how long would my hair have to be before I would start the dreads to have them at the length down to my shoulders. thanks!
wow I have of those shirts you were wearing. You looked so unhappy when you first had your dreads....I was nicked named fragle rock so don't feel bad lol
DUDE! THAT GNR SHIRT! FUCK YEA! Guns N Roses is part of the reason why I want dreads. Izzy Stradlin (gnr rhythm guitarist) played five shows in 1993 with dreadlocks and he looked like a complete badass. Plus they're my favorite band to exist hah
lol you were such a cute little teenager. I was really looking into dreads when I was 13-14. I did like 6 months research, I was genuinely dedicated to the idea. I had hair down to the middle of my back that I always kept tied up, simply because I didn't really like my hair. And then, spur of the moment, I decided to saw off a good 8 inches. With a pocket knife. Without a mirror. In the dark. It didn't look really bad... but the next day my mom took me to the salon to fix the so called 'damage', and I decided I wanted it really short. So bye-bye another heck-a-lotta-hair and the longest section was maybe two inches. A year later, its back down past my shoulders and I'm finding myself in the same situation. Its always up and I hate it. So here I am, rewatching all your videos, trying to reestablish what I knew, and staring in the mirror wondering what the heck this is gonna look like. Let's do this.
I see you were/are into metal. Are you still into metal and would you make a top ten or 15 or 20 favorite bands video (I know what it's like to like bands and ten isn't enough a lot of the time)
awww adorable, my son went from shoulder length long curly at that age to short spike gel now at 22 LOL.....im the one that wants dreads! its very thick a little course and down to my waist if I stand tall...oh you see me in my thumb nail pic lol, I need to know what you do with the new growth? my hair grows like 6 or 7 inches a year. One last BIG question, how would you feel at your current age feel about your mom getting new dreads? Honest!
+Sue Sue I am a cool sixty years old and finally dreaded my shoulder length locks eight yrs ago. They are down to my waist now and I LOVE THEM TO FUCKIN BITS. My grown up kids think theyre cool and I wouldnt give a damn anyways; its MY life now and MY hair. Go for it girl. Its the most empowering thing I ever did! xxx
Planning it!!! Cant wait...got a little to excited like are youtuber man said and made a few, I combed them out because I was worried I went too hin...thinking of having my 83 year old mom section for me and we can backcomb together...ill have my hair as a rememberance of her..then again her mom didn't pass until 103 :) Guttersnipe who did yours and was it back combing or twist rip? also I haven't found how to deal with the 6 inch new growth per year
+Sue Sue Have to admit - I braided then wrapped mine to begin with and when I took the wraps off a year later (cos it took too long to dry!) theyd miraculously locked up a treat! I'd had freds for several years before that cos my hair just wouldnt dread (and I could extend and change the colour/style as I pleased) so I was well happy. Real drteads was my ultimate goal. Nowadays I do a kind of combination of backcombing and ripping (see Lazy's youtubes for creating, washing, maintaining etc)) for new ones and then you do exactly what the good man says and BE PATIENT. ONce the shape is there, the locking up process will just happen like magic. Your hair is perfect for dreading as it looks like it has some curl to it (mines silky smooth) so it should lock up all on its own; just keep the roots apart once the initial sections and dreads are in. (I suggest OCCASIONAL gentle root rubbing ) Yes; sometimes there are stray hairs which pull and hurt to start but hang in there- its SOOOoo worth it!! Your regrowth will (as Lazy says) lock into the dread all on its own. Dont fall into the trap of interlocking (like I did) or crocheting. The only reason I found this guy is cos I was looking for a way out of interlocking megalong loks and turns out I shouldnt of bin doin it AT ALL!!!! I look forward to utilising my newfound wisdom; its so true Youre never too old to learn! Best of luck with yer dreading and hope you dont fall out with yer mam; mine hated my dreads and sadly passed away still unreconciled to them. Ah well. Cant win em all!
I got mine done at the salon as well, it has been a little over a month and my hair has calmed down quite a bit but now I have a TON of loose hair and not money to get them touched up. Is there a more simple solution?
Rebecca Mckown The simplest solution would be to try and ignore the loose hair as best you can. I would, myself, recommend just trying to encourage it to lock by itself and just leaving it alone. Loose hair is always going to be around, but usually in quite significant quantities while they're so young. Getting them touched up would only be a temporary fix - they would need to be repeatedly touched up to keep them tidy at that age.
Question: Hey man, My hair is straight and I did a pretty average job of knotting up , my dread sections, I'm a bit worried that they will come undone, I have tried back combing to help but to no avail, do I just have to wait it out... (I'm 3 weeks in dreads) Cheers, Sam.
Sam Madden Wait it out - if they come undone, they'll need to be redone (in order to keep the sections). If they only come loose, but are still 'together', then leave them be.
so i wanna start dreds but i have a fade look right now i just got cut maybe a week ago taller on top short on sides how long will i have to wait before i can start dreds thankyou please answer.
ATM i have almost 8 inches of hair, but i have side cuts. Should i still go for the dreads? Will they shrink a lot? I remember you saying in your videos that yours shrank by half of the original length, and im quite scared my dreads will shrink that much aswell
I have a dread question, ah I keep pulling loose hairs from my dreads by accident when I'm rubbing product through it, is this gonna effect anything negatively with my hair short term or long term?
okay, this whole dreadlock thing just got ridiculous and confusing to me, cause I just made a comparison between your hair pre-dreadlocks and mine pre-dreadlocks and yours wasn't that much thicker. It was thicker, yes, but not "twice as much dreadlocks" thick. I have around 20 dreadlocks thick as yours, and by the looks of it, they shouldn't be this few. Is it possible to misuse hair or have terrible sections that do not use hair efficiently, or maybe having them done in such a lousy way that I lost huge amounts of hair, ending up with fewer dreadlocks than what you hair could've got? I don't know if this made sense, cause i'm really confused as to why the hell I have this few and I'm just trying to see is there's a logical explanation. Sorry for the kind of ridiculous question
NicholasWaits94 The thickness of the dreadlocks depends on how much hair you have. The number of dreadlocks you have depends on how many sections you create.
Valli Bat Yes, provided the dreadlocks are 'mature', they can be cut to shorter lengths without much issue - however if the dreadlocks are still young you can have issues with the 'new tips' fraying out after cutting.
Thank you for sharing those pics. I especially liked the one at the end of your baby dreads. They look just like mine and it was reassuring to see a visual like that.

supermoisesgonzalez but your black tho
Even if you're White it doesn't matter the Picts of Scotland had Dreadlocks, Women in ancient China had dreadlocks, Egyptians had dreadlocks, Africans had dreadlocks.
Chris Shearer lol k
@@TheChrishendrix everyone had dreadlocks and is able to lock. No culture can own it.

Omg cx your hair looked so great! But your dreads fit you best now, but Im so jealouse if how your hair had the perfect straight then curl
Awwww you looked so young! Awww. It must have been cool to have parents support you when doing that to your hair though. I know my mum would have killed me if i got dreads as a teen. I got a large tattoo on my stomach instead at 15 🤣 i could hind that lol. Thanks for showing this.

Woah...Yours were Originally Long.
I really love your early dread days
Awwwwww!!! Still a little whittle baby face
Loved this video! Great job mixing it up a bit

Aww!!! So awesome! Christian in child form. How cute! ^.^
I totally know who you remind me of now! When I watch your videos, I think of Jason Gann from Wilfred! 😂
Hey, in the clip, 1 year before the dreads, are you in Barcelona, in La Rambla? The ground looks just like that street. 2:20
Oh, that was definitly Barcelona xd
2:52 is it a Cradle of Filth Shirt?
Thumbs up for the Killswitch Engage shirt, nice!
I KNOW RIGHT
I know I'm a day late and a dollar short, but can you dye your dreads after they have been started.
I really want dreads when my hair is long again but is there anyway I could have dreads in my short hair? I mean like 2 or 3?
what did your family think of you getting dreads? i recently started mine and my mum keeps telling that they are feral and that i should just be happy with normal hair
shannon lee I think my parents were of the realisation that there are probably more important things to worry about than how their son grows his hair.
So funny first Guns'n Roses to Slayer t-shirts when you where a youngster,
now a GTA shirt when growing up,you become softer when aging, but your hair is harder ;)
wow, it looks like we have hella similar hair lol that makes me feel alot better about how i imagine my locks will turn out
how long do i need to grow my hair, to get dreads just under my eyes (sry for my bad english, i come from denmark and i love your vids)
what method did u use like twist and rip or Backcomb? Im thinking about getting some lol my hair is way too short however I want dreads down to like my shoulders, how long would my hair have to be before I would start the dreads to have them at the length down to my shoulders. thanks!

if u start the at 6 inches will they lay down
Thank you for sharing, so cute!
Hey, haha, i have the same twd shirt like that from your intro! ^^
I never noticed how much you resemble blanket jackson until i saw your hair tied back like his.
Riddim Tearout Wonk Trench The only things I know about Blanket Jackson are things I learned from from South Park. Blaaaaaaaaanket.
I love how he parts his hair still the same way from the first picture
Fantastic!
ur hair was same as mine .. except for the colour , I have natural black
My hair also starts to curl around that length
Are you Swedish? Your accent sounds Swedish but I can't find info on where you're from.
What tshirt are you wearing in 2:44 ?
Slayer

haha, that's weird, my hair looked nearly exactly the same before dreads as yours in the first picture. The only difference is I'm blonde.
awww adorable, my son went from shoulder length long curly at that age to short spike gel now at 22 LOL.....im the one that wants dreads! its very thick a little course and down to my waist if I stand tall...oh you see me in my thumb nail pic lol, I need to know what you do with the new growth? my hair grows like 6 or 7 inches a year. 2:59 is that auchwitz birkenau? just noticed....
Do you know any method to make hair grow faster i want dreadlocks but my hair is only 2 inches
Adolf Hitnerd Healthy diet and exercise... some supplements support healthy hair growth...
Can i start dreadlocks like yours ??
I have a medium sized afro
+Ashraf Gihad Each set of dreadlocks will come out different depending on many factors, but different hair textures will produce different results.
Hi, do you know what the root sizes were of your dreadlocks? thanks :)
Blake Rawson 1.5x1.5"... but not anymore - and how big the dreadlocks become from those sized sections will depend on the hair thickness.
Lazy Dreads thanks for the help! :D
can I ask u a question an get an answer from you still Lazydreadz????? jw
is the video clip of you a month after you got your dreads you rolling?
Rhada manthus Not sure what that means so I'll probably have to say no.
Lazy Dreads 4:01 is that you rolling a reefer with some clever editing to hide it
That's me playing Mario Kart on a gameboy.
I have a dread question, ah I keep pulling loose hairs from my dreads by accident when I'm rubbing product through it, is this gonna effect anything negatively with my hair short term or long term?
art by rxch If you pull more and more hairs off it could potentially lead to thinning long term.
Lazy Dreads thank you
how long did it take you to grow your hair before you got dreadlocks
Usef Cruz I didn't grow my hair out specifically for dreadlocks - I had already had long hair for a number of years.
Ooooh well that makes sense lol.
I have wavy / curly / frizzy hair Will i be able to get dread locks like you? :)
omar daly If it knots, then yes :)
Ty :D
