"this is wild" ... BOOOM! Yes mate. Great work from Corry and Ess on the collab. Lot of time for those guys and looking forward to trying out Osiris in the future too.
I've been waiting for this one (and your jams) to drop. It sounds fucking huge and gnarly and wonderful. I'm super excited to get my hands on one. The fact that the sub is effectively a completely separate voice if you want it to be -- along with the built in VCA for the primary voice makes this huge for folks building smaller systems. Modbap coming in HOT with this one.
What really blows me away with your videos is your consummate mastery of the equipment. I wonder how much time you spend practising and perfecting your muscle memory with these modules so you can navigate them so flawlessly. It's amazing to see that and it means your creativity isn't crippled by fiddle farting about with controls. Super fun to watch.
I am so intrigued by the combo of Osiris, Maestro (and O'Tool for the visuals). It looks absurdly fun. The walkthrough and performances were fantastic.
This whole setup is absolutely enormous sounding and just has so much presence. While I'm convinced you could make an Atari Punk Console sound good, it's truly something else to hear what you've put together here.
I'm really happy and somewhat surprised about how gigantic the sound here is too. Looking at the other modular stations I have and thinking, huh, maybe I don't need all this shit. Which was always the point with this main rig.
OMG! So many 4ms pods! Your modular is made out of smaller modulars. edit: that wavetable designer looks flipping amazing, I love how the tools are getting better for mapping out textures in a usable way.
I got a fever, and the only prescription is more wavetables. Just bought myself a Piston Honda Mk III, may have to think about eyeing this little beauty up too for total wavetabletastic chaos ...
Dammit. I bought the Black Wavetable VCO. I should’ve copped this. So many more modulation options. And the sub oscillator is handled SO much better on the Osiris
I already have the Maestro and the pod case. I like this idea so much I ordered 3 Navigators and a Mult. This frees space in the main rack for my new Liquid Glitcher, and a few other tweaks. ;-) After all, what's the point in unused free HP when you have modules in a box collecting dust or getting less use. That VCO has been in and out of my wish list several times so far. I'm a sucker for stereo VCO's as a rule. The Maestro just keeps getting more and more useful. If those guys make a version 2 of Maestro I can't imagine how essential it will be.
The Osiris is a cool concept, at the same time it's based on bandlimited wavetables (WaveEdit) which are unacceptably low-quality, and has no Windows support. Great video! Thanks! EDIT: Because they both use a permutation of WaveEdit, this problem occurs in E352 Cloud Terrarium as well. No overtones above the 128th in any waveshape - meaning bass-frequency patches will have a noticeable bandlimit in the highs.
The module doesn't use bandlimited oscillators, although most of the factory tables are bandlimited on purpose to mitigate aliasing that could occur on very high frequencies. It is of course possible to import/use as sharp waveforms as you'd like, but you'd have to cut the waveforms together yourself instead of OsirisEdit. It just takes standard wav files, no proprietary format.
@@sm0hm I'm assuming you speak from experience knowing the Osiris doesn't have antialiasing filters on the output? I don't know, but IMO it's a very basic thing to properly support wavetables: they need to be high-res. If anti-aliasing is required, it needs to be there. Knowing it takes any WAV format is comforting though! Do you maybe know how it handles frames internally? I'm assuming it takes every 256 samples as a frame. In which case, I'd still be correct that it's too low-res.
the wavetable oscillator is nice and all, but i have to say the real star of the show is the maestro/navigator combo. really makes the oscillator alive.
Hi, have been following your channel with a lot of interest. Much appreciated. Question on the XAOC Minsk: any alternative? How about the Gemini's Path from Shakmat? I am already using my Analog Heat Mk2 to tune my mid-side aspect. Just would like to "recuperate" some stereo from the Osiris. Thank you
I sold my Cloud Terrarium because it was HUGE, and I found it not especially playable, though it could sound incredible. So I'm back on the hunt for a wave table Osc eventually. But I'm fairly space constrained.
Have you tried using the Maestro’s onboard attenuation with those sensitive inputs on Osiris? It’s definitely nice to have to control on attenuation of the sliders on the Navigators but I am just curious if Maestro is usable with Osiris on its own. Btw this video rules.
To bad it breaks the compatibility with the 64 waves (8x8 grid) of the original WaveEdit software. I'm almost done with my WaveEdit compatible Alternate Instrument of the Nebulae V2.

How would you compare this to the SWN? It's certainly smaller.
Can you explain your performance setup? Including non Eurorack stuff?
"this is wild" ... BOOOM! Yes mate.

It's am absolute standout module. Really fantastic.
Wow this sounds RADICALLY different than any other demo I've heard of the Osiris. Emphasis on the RAD part!

Agree. This is a standout.

Ok, this is one of the coolest combinations I have seen in a long time. Heading to the performance channel now.

Don't get rid of the piston. It's legit special.
Oh man, you are going to cost me a fortune, again! Thanks for another inspiring video!
I love this demo and I love that I can use it together with Pigments!

Cables, knobs & buttons make voltage go vrrrrmmm
Back again being sold things i REALLY don't need >:D

Maestro is love. Maestro is life.
I love your Desktop Backround 😅
Ess and Felisha killin' it again

Damn that thing sounds nice
Just got one of these. It really is amazing. Hey Modbap, Red Means sold it to me. just saying.
Batch rename is built in to macs, fyi. Just select all and rename. I believe it can also number stuff.
Nice
Killer walkthrough video, Corry going 2-for-2 on Modbap releases! Curious what mixer you've got stashed next to the Hydra desktop? Cheers.
zoom l-12. mixer and audio interface!
I literally clicked on this because I needed to hear someone say “modbap“. XD
Oh! Cyrus!!! Awesome!!
Great video! It Sounds huge! Is there any side chain or dynamic processing applied?
Lovely. Am I selling my Piston H mk3 now then? That doesn’t seem right.
This is madness! 🤘😵💫🤘
15:50 🔥🔥🔥
I like the music
just downloaded the open source version of that editor. I don't have that module, but I could load them in Vital.
ohhhhh niceeeeeeeee
Cheers!!!
This thing is a monstrosity. End of story.
Amazing that this year ended with two unreal wavetable offerings (Arturia Microbrute also).

I really need hands on control
that kick sounds great! is it coming from a module?
Samples from the vpme qd
I love Wavetable oscillators but I can't keep getting them. This demo makes me regret that deeply.
In the mail
Possibly a dumb question, does the WaveEdit program make Wavetable files that the Disting Mk4 can use?
I dunno
Q U A N T I N I Z A T I O N
@Red Means Recording What are the number of samples per single cycle waveform, 2048?
Looks like 256 samples as per the manual (the same as the original Wave Edit).
Hmm I feel the noise timbre should've been last on the knob
TAHHHM BURRRR
Yes

Wait wasn’t this thing developed by Fors, Ess Mattison and Felisha Ledesma’s company?
That sounds familiar yeah
