As a 70 yo beginner I really appreciate this video. You are easy to follow with good tips thought out. Thank you for also having the written pattern with the video
You have a very EASY voice to listen to! I like this stich alot too..I can listen to you and cochet st the same time!!!! ( and I'm OLD!) I DO like this stich and have made several. I am making a bunch of dishcloths and a matching hotpad for a summer Children's Miracle Network Fund raiser we do at the campground I stay at all summer. It is a huge success and we raise more $$$$$ every year. Last year was our best... Almost $10,000. !!!! It is a FUN weekend worthwhile!
Thank you for your style of video and making it all about the crochet pattern and project and not about you. Love this! Actually making a scarf with this stitch but lost my video and did not know the stitch name. Thank you! Lovely dishcloth!
New to your channel. I am 74 & really like the way you teach your pattern to all of us that is just learning new patterns. I am making lots of dishcloths & scrubbies to donate to donate to our local womens shelter.
Thank you for your video! I have returned to crochet after 30 years. Your pattern, instructions, hints, and camera angle were fabulous. Gave me the confidence I needed after one “meh” washcloth attempt and one “give up.” Again many thanks!
Pattern is lovely and the video tutorial is well-done. I do hate the way peaches and cream splits while working. I tried exactly one project using it and threw out the yarn afterwards because it was so hard to work with. I appreciate that it is a tough, no-nonsense cotton yarn that is economically priced, I just prefer to spend a little more and have a yarn that is more friendly to my hands and my patience :)
Just finished this pattern, using a 4.5 mm hook, and only one colour of yarn. The pattern is easy to follow. I didn’t count the rows but completed enough to make it square. Including the border it’s 8 1/2 inches square, finished size.
You are wonderful!! I have been crocheting for some time but this tutorial caught my eye and I love how you sprinkled fabulous little tricks throughout that can be used in almost any other project as well. Thank you! You have a new follower ❤
I’m glad you found it helpful! Blocking is wetting a piece down and pinning it into shape to let it dry. If I’m using acrylic yarn, I steam it, and if I’m using natural fiber (like cotton) then I spray with water. I hope that helps!
This looks like a wonderful stitch, I've tried it before but didn't know the name. I had trouble figuring out which one was the double stitch and the single stitch, I would appreciate any help you could give me.
The texture comes from bending the double crochet to the level of the sing crochets next to it, so when you’re looking at it, the bumpy part is the double crochet and the parts between bumps are single crochet. I hope this helps!
Hi Hannah, other than what’s written in the description box for this one, I don’t have a written pattern available for it at this time, just the video pattern. But if that’s something you’re interested in, I’ll work on getting one posted for you!
I don’t understand why you have all the tails to crochet around the border if they were crocheted over during the color changes? Maybe I missed something?
Hmmm not sure why it’s whited out for you. It plays fine for me. Maybe a connection issue? Maybe try closing the RUclips app and restarting it? Technology 🤷🏻♀️🤣
I used the larger hook for the base chain only, then went down a size for the rest. As a beginner, it made it much easier for me to work through the back loop of chain.

Great instructions for the Lemon Peel Stitch for a washcloth! You have a nice voice and show the stitches and how to do it, so well!

I have used this pattern on many projects. Love the texture and so easy.
That’s awesome! It’s one of my faves!
Great advice,,,, for a chain,,,,, five at a time makes fabulous sense... love the pattern. Hidden slip knot,, 😊
I’m glad you liked it!
Really appreciate the tip for weaving in ends. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
First time. I will watch again
Yay! I hope you enjoy the pattern!
Great tip on weaving the end of the contrast color on the return row! Weaving in tails is so annoying. Very pretty stitch.
In lieu of a magic wand making those tails disappear, it’s the next best thing 😄
I find the cotton speckled yarn in cotton candy colorway looks so cute with this stitch and no ends to weave in but the start and end
Yes! I bet it looks fantastic!
Love it! Totally adding to my list of things to make. Thank you for this awesome tutorial!
So glad! Have fun!
Love this stitch... so pretty! Thank you for sharing.

I totally get that! It can be a bit of an arm workout too! Softer cottons work just as well, like ILT Cotton, which is one of my faves!
Awesome video good Job I in joy it thanks for the video I Love it have a good day and Night ❤👌👍
I’m glad you liked it! 😁
I love that it’s called Lemon Peel Stitch ☕️🧶💕

Thank you so much! ♥️
Love this washcloth
🥰🥰 I’m so glad!
Thank you for explaining everything so explicitly it's a really good video . How do you block at the end since I've never heard of that lol
I’m glad you found it helpful! Blocking is wetting a piece down and pinning it into shape to let it dry. If I’m using acrylic yarn, I steam it, and if I’m using natural fiber (like cotton) then I spray with water. I hope that helps!
I will be honest and tell you that I don’t block my washcloths, since they’re a more utilitarian piece. So don’t feel like you have to :)
Love the color combinations but I like to use the verigagit color yarn less color changes same result
You can absolutely do that too! It just depends on what look you’re going for and what you want to do. 🥰
Thank you! Love this pattern!! ❤️🧶
I’m so glad!♥️
Great explanation! Thank you

Not sing crochets…single crochets, sorry for the typo!
@@HooksBooksWanderlust okay thanks 😊
Would this stitch work to make reusable makeup remover pads? Love the look. Thanks for sharing
Yes, if you make small squares instead of rounds! 😄
I do the starting chain by 5 also so I know exactly what you mean😄
@@iammeganmk it helps, doesn’t it?!
Awesome
🥰
White background, white yarn, silver hook.....so hard for some to see.
Thank you for pointing that out, I’ll keep that in mind for future tutorials
Yes yes it's hard to see ur work because the background table is white n the yarn is white also..other wise great tutorial ❤
Get the camera closer and you got this 🎉
R U sure thats a 6mm??? Love this so much Thank You!!! ;)
Yup, 6mm :) but you can size up/down as needed if your tension is different. Glad you like it! ♥️
How do you block do you have a tutorial on that
I don't, not at this time, but I have one that I like to refer people to. I hope it helps! ruclips.net/video/v0Hfu0byjxs/видео.html
How do I get a copy of the pattern
Hi Hannah, other than what’s written in the description box for this one, I don’t have a written pattern available for it at this time, just the video pattern. But if that’s something you’re interested in, I’ll work on getting one posted for you!
I don’t understand why you have all the tails to crochet around the border if they were crocheted over during the color changes? Maybe I missed something?
I only crocheted over them partially in the color changes, as I generally like to weave in a couple different directions to really secure the ends.
Sorry I cant see anything. Have I gone blind or is it a white out😂
Hmmm not sure why it’s whited out for you. It plays fine for me. Maybe a connection issue? Maybe try closing the RUclips app and restarting it? Technology 🤷🏻♀️🤣
I dont want mine that big is 22 ok to do
Absolutely! Any multiple of 2 will work!
🌷🌷🤗🤗💚💚
♥️♥️♥️
Why use such a large hook?
I like how the larger hook loosens the stitches, making the fabric less stiff. You don’t have to, it’s personal preference. 🥰
I used the larger hook for the base chain only, then went down a size for the rest. As a beginner, it made it much easier for me to work through the back loop of chain.
