It's crazy how after all these years these guys have yet to release a bad song. And I mean it genuinely - every track they've put out has been quality songwriting through and through. This is sounding like In The Future...but with some The Heart is a Monster & Fantastic Planet thrown in. A perfect evolution of their sound. Dark, twisted, beautiful and melancholic. They did it again everyone. They fucking did it again.
"Fair Light Era" wasn't my cup of tea, but the consistency of their past five albums is incredible. Few bands make a reunion after 18 years and not only put forward a worthy album, but follow it up with a *better* album after that.
Nothing is ever filler with them. Even the songs I like less have things about them I think are great. I know it’s only a matter of time before I get one of those songs I “don’t like as much” stuck in my head and it becomes a new favorite.
Wow, I'm so glad I discovered this tonight. Failure once again proves that they can do no wrong and are the most consistent and urgent band I've ever heard.
I fucking love these guys. Grew up in Oregon listening to them. Remember stumbling into Ken and Failure in a drunken haze around 1996 at La Luna, Portland, OR. Upstairs in the smaller venue. I was just standing there all by myself watching this band. Hit me like a ton of bricks. Followed them ever since. Their music got me through alot of shit. La Luna is long since gone but the memories remain. Keep going guys. Never let it end. Come out to the DC area soon!
@@jimturner9199 Portland music scene was incredible. Havent been back in years. But wild times in the early mid nineties. Do you rememeber Quest Nightclub? 80s night was the best!!!!
"And I know it's been too long It goes so slow when you can't see And now I know just what you meant But whole world says you're bad for me." I felt these lines.
Once again Failure takes us to a place we didn't expect, didn't know, and unsure of if we wanted to go there in the first place, but were damn glad we were there once we got there. 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Total Fantastic Planet vibes i absolutely love this!!!. been a fan of these guys for over 25 years. They are pure talent and imagination and most importantly GENIUS.
I discovered Failure from the vampire B-Movie 'Cold Hearts' back in 2001 (Stuck On You plays over the end credits). The problem was they listed Failure later (after the other music credits) so I couldn't figure out who played the last song in the movie. I had the song 'stuck' in my head for weeks and even played the riff on my guitar constantly until I watched the credits several times to figure out the song. After the 'eureka moment' I went to Barnes & Noble to look up Failure on their headphone listening station to see what album the song was on. Not only did I find an awesome song, but I found a new favorite band as everything I heard by them (Magnified, Comfort) also blew my ears away!! What really gets me is that I showed nearly everyone I knew Failure at that time but got brushed off with 'it just sounds like 90s music'...only 8 years later the same people would tell me 'Oh, I've been listening to this band called Failure, you might like them' (SERIOUSLY???). Later in 2015 and 2016/17??...I got to see Failure at The Metro in Chicago both times and still tell everyone that they are the only band that I've ever heard that can almost perfectly replicate the sound of their recordings in a live setting. They are truly one of the best out there. Looking forward to seeing Failure again!!
i found out about them due to a perfect circle's cover of "nurse who loved me" as a song i enjoyed so much so i decided to track down the original music and here we are. i still think the failure version is the superior version
@@monstersinthecity Haha!! Yeah, I listened to that version recently... didn't really like what I heard. This new song 'Headstand' is so haunting!! It gets stuck in my head for hours!! I love it -ha!
Comes out December 3rd… I think I’m going to be jamming this album while playing Halo Infinite campaign. Seems like it might be a good combination, space rock with a somewhat space themed shooter
Forever my favorite band... you guys are absolute healers of the soul... the ultimate comfort to me, no matter what I'm going through, or gone through, your music has always helped me to get through it and make it out the other side. I can never express how much you all mean in my life, I wouldn't be here without you guys and your songs, my gratitude is infinite. You've released another masterpiece and I'm so beyond fucking stoked for the new album... Fuck yeah 🖤🤘🏼👩🏻🚀☄️🖤
I was on the bus with The Deftones in Panama City florids in 1998..... They put on Fantastic Planet and were absolutely shocked I was already a fan. Failure for Life
This must be a dream?! My favorite band of all time coming back again right when the world needs it the most!!! Thank you Ken, Greg and Kellii for still touching our souls with your insanely special music. You guys can't imagine how much you've influenced me becoming an adult and how much I've grown as a person since I found out about you a few years ago. Praise the youtube algorhythm. I'm 21 years old and I wish I could've listened to you live in the 90's. I hope that one day I can come to the US and hear you guys live. I wish you the best all the way from Germany. Hope u guys see this :)
There's something so special about the music that these guys make, Failure never ceases to amaze me. Can't wait to hear the rest of the album!! Ken, Greg, Kelli, thank you for blessing our ears once again, your music is pure bliss man
You know what: I AM GLAD THESE GUYS ARE STILL DOING MUSIC!! It is a shame how there are bands or artists like Failure that are creative and not mainstream labels.
Maybe the freshest and coolest riff by any rock band, and let's throw Distorted Fields with that as well..... Something in this is reminiscent of the 90's demo version of "I can see Houses"
Sunlight through the dust Someone to make you understand You can ask [her rust?] I've always been your headstand And I know it's been too long And I want you back again One more time in the warm jets One more time in electric light I'll get my toaster You get your shaker The simulation's 'bout to meet its maker And I know it's been too long It goes so slow when you can't see And now I know just what you meant But whole world says you're bad for me And I know it's been too long And I want you back again

not bad for a band to consistently come back many artists tend to burn out but since failure has no contractual obligations to anyone, and they make music whenever they feel like it, i think it preserves the integrity of their sound, 24k is no small feat for a cult band. failure army strong
biggest smile ever crept across my face as this song played especially the second half. cannot wait for this album. the way this band continues to develop, mature, and still maintain itself is incredible.
This is gonna be an amazing early Christmas present. Ordered the CD and get the digital on 3rd December. The greatest rock band in the world right now is back...🎸🍸

So excited for a new album from Failure! a lot of music lately seems to dissolve so quickly out of my interest. I can always count on Failure to take me on a long journey and slowly unravel an album getting more and more out of it each time. If you guys are listening (Failure) thank you for putting so much heart into your music. In a world where the industry seems so perverted by manufacturing talent through popularity contests and false idols with pretty faces who have Music written for them. you guys do it all and put your craft first. I also gotta say I love the sprinkling of remastered songs in the last couple albums. Just throwing out 2 faves “perfect prisons”and “moth”. no pressure 😉
You cant even find their last cd, so this is good. I remember seeing them live in LA with the QOTSA guitarist (troy) in 2016. Best small show I ever saw.
Its been a great day for me. And then I find out Failure is putting out a new album in less than a month! Day just turned epic....already Pre ordered the album

yep one of my very favourite moments musically.. ever.. dont get much heavier than that
