    I want to do this to my Washburn 332 but it's signed by Dimebag and all the original members of Pantera and I don't want to screw it up and end up having to swap the neck to another body. The back of the neck and headstock are signed. From 2001. It's a guitar I paid $4500 for and means a lot to me. I'd love to find a professional like you to do it for me.

      Have you considered a Floyd Rose FRX? As long as they are set up right, they can be very good.

      @@jasonbeamon2292 I know but at the same time it just doesn't feel right without the Floyd Rose. But I'm going to have to do a little work to save the signatures anyway cuz the back of the neck has like a poly coat that has a couple small chips and when that stuff peels the signatures will go with it. I kinda wonder if I just put another coat in it if it'll save it.

    The only issue is guitars made with two piece bridge set up neck is set at an angle to allow for the string height. As can be seen at the end of this video when you see how high off the body the Floyd is to compensate this. I do like the routing jig! That was legit!!

      @@danvex_ It doesn't work that way. Putting a Floyd Rose on some guitars, (especially vintage) would devalue them substantially, and make it hard to sell. Keep in mind this is one of the few mods that is irreversible. Not much loss on a cheap guitar.

      @@qua7771 I mean, if we speak from standpoint of the maker/seller of gear that he modded - feels like it would mean somewhat value to them, hence they could try asking more, but overall I get what you mean, as modifying good ol' model would nearly ruin its authenticity

    • @MangaJosh
      @MangaJosh 10 месяцев назад

      As long as the hole is wide enough to allow for the trem block to move forward and backward yes it will allow for dumping and raising of the bar. And this guys job would allow for that. A lot of the dean USA run of dime guitars had top mount Floyd’s like this.

    • @bakalika1
      @bakalika1  10 месяцев назад

      yes, there's enough space to move in both directions.

    • @danielmonks285
      @danielmonks285 9 месяцев назад +2

      Careful with the top mounted Floyds tho if u want this, yes you can def do dime squeals on them but if you pull back too hard your locking screws for the strings on the bridge can hit your body and leave it damaged cosmetically (if u care). But if u want a better way to do it then Look for a “fully recessed” Floyd, has an area milled out behind the Floyd giving you more motion to pull back on the Floyd and raise the pitch much higher. My ML has one and it’s so killer for Dime squeals

    • @MangaJosh
      @MangaJosh 9 месяцев назад

      @@danielmonks285 idk I just got a chance to play a top mounted Floyd on a USA ml and the range of motion was noticeably further on the top mount vs my late 90’s deans. The neck angle is different on fixed bridge guitars vs recessed Floyd ones. That’s why it’s not necessary for fixed bridge guitars that are converted into Floyd’s to have a recess. The bridge will sit about a half in higher than it does on a recessed guitar because of how the neck is angled.

      Да всё там нормально, по типу установки флойдов от Caparison и Grover Jackson custom.
      Тем кто на тюноматиках привык вообще кайф
      То же самое проделал со своим Dean ml usa, всё супер.
      Есть так же второй дин с низким Флойдом, разницы нет просто берешь и играешь.

      It's actually one of the few mods that add value to your used guitar(as long as it's a real OG floyd or Schaller). As a luthier you should understand that people have different tastes in their instruments.

      If you're a luthier of 25 years and if after all that time you're a snob about some very cleanly done work on guitars that don't belong to you, you've been in the wrong line of work the entire time.
      Kirk Hammett plays Greeny on stage (gasp, I know), some people put Floyd Roses in old Dean guitars, and no one cares if you don't like it.
