I doubt the myth is meant to mean every single car is actually a real one, but there are models for traffic density that could be used in-game

Also a quick flight over for example North Korea will show pretty busy streets for a country where children are literally playing on main roads of the captiol city because it does have such low traffic irl. Not to forget that they probably wouldn't even provide car data at all and that besides such countries, that wouldn't share car information of the public there are also still a lot of cars around all over the world that would probably be way to old to be tracked without them just using external GPS devices or anything.

I still remember the first time I flew between the towers in that game, in a little Cessna, lol. Terrified that I was going to crash, I rolled over with my wing tips up and down screaming as I made it through. Super thrill! Many years before "that day". I think Flight Simulator was the best software purchase I ever made. Always something new to do.
Aaron, the 9/11 myth is only for the 2002 flight sim because it was much worse to try and recreate the events in 2002 than 2020/2024

Today, it is more for historical purposes since it has been over 20 years since it happened than in 2002 when the stigma of 9/11 was still fresh in everyone's mind, so such a ban is not far-fetched. Nowadays, it would be silly to have such a ban after all this time. When we know more about the attacks now than we did in 2002.

As someone who has done this and has flown flight sims since FS 1998. This is not true at all.
The fact people are trying so hard to get you banned from Microsoft flight simulator are probably the same people that make jokes about 9/11

I think I should really clear the air regarding the ‘September 11th ban’ myth.
It is only on the 2002 edition of Microsoft Flight Simulator, and exclusive to the VATSIM network, a group of multiplayer servers dedicated to making flight simulation as realistic as possible, by enforcing realistic pilot-ATC conversation and absolutely no goofing off (Not your PTFS ‘American 191 cleared for taxi and takeoff’ bullshit) and there is a decent chance it’s still in effect on VATSIM to this day in the later versions to safeguard against unsavoury pilots.

Still practicing full flights on FSX and soon might be able to join Vatsim, but I just don't know much. I know how to talk to the ATC, but I just don't know what format I use. Maybe 2 years later I can finally join but ehh.

People that believe in the last myth really have no idea both about game development and how msfs works at all. The time setting feature in the game doesn't affect the buildings and scenery in the Sim in any way therefore WTC doesn't exist in the vanilla game, therefore there's no reason to code a auto ban when the condition cannot be fulfilled without modding the game. Furthermore, msfs doesn't even have collision detection with scenery objects, only with the ground.
The flight simulator with the towers is more accurate than what allegedly took place.

Ok, so the thing is, I remember I was a sophomore in high school when the WTC was attacked, and even at that time I was a huge MSFS fan and I remember sometime after that with whatever version I had I think it might have been the 2004 version, someone recreated the Twin Towers in NYC and added it as a mod to pay respect to those we lost on that terrible day in history. In the description he or she wrote “and for all of you sick people out there who want to try and crash into the WTC, I’ve made it so it is impossible to recreate that by having the planes pass right thru the towers” I think this should be implemented by MSFS on any version where it is impossible for anyone to recreate the events of that day for whatever sick enjoyment they might get out of it. Just my thoughts as an American citizen.
I remember back around Christmas 2001 (2 months after the attacks) we were at my Grandpa’s house and he has MSFS2000 on his computer and my family were having a debate about various conspiracy theories about 9/11 and my one uncle said that inexperienced pilots couldn’t have accurately hit the towers only for another uncle (who is not a pilot) to pull up flight simulator and promptly and easily fly an airliner straight into one of the towers 🤷🏼♂️. He didn’t get banned, but then again it wasn’t connected to the internet and my grandpa may not have even had internet at the time and if he did it was dial-up…

That myth can only be confirmed if you have Flight Simulator 2002 (or 2000)
They recreate other events in games WW1 WW2 so I don't think this will get you banned. It's a fake plane using a Google map not like u actually stole a real plane. They recreated it in GTA V. It's a simulation a what if. It doesn't dipict current events.

imagine if microsoft turn this technology, improve it more and make a truck simulator. i dont think it will rival the hand made quality of ETS2 but its crazy if that ever happen world truck sim.
I tried visiting the DMZ in Korea and was extremely disappointed. It doesn't even resemble satellite imagery like it was purposefully scrambled, which is odd because if they don't want you seeing it in a game, why can we see detailed satellite imagery online? Lol I mean you can even fly into Pine Gap which is almost modeled perfectly and I'd argue that's more sensitive.
South Korea hate satellite imagery of their country, there's been times when it's almost completely blank on Google Maps, though I think it works normally now (and did in the past, even streetview, though has been bizarrely "censored" other times). They also photoshop trees over various buildings

Not all places are modeled into the game. I went to Móron air base in Spain for a military thing, got on flight sim to fly there and the whole base is blurred and the air field is non existent.

It's possibly a mod. I don't play MSFS but I think it's a scenery add-on from someone since the default scenery might be just the One Trade Center.

It's for monetization. While people won't actually be offended, the advertisers possibly would and if he references too many dark things in one video, he won't get ads, thus can't earn money.
Bust the myth that a MFS game player, with zero hours of real flight time, can fly an actual, real life analogue Piper Cherokee on a VFR cross country flight, without an instructor on board (ie solo), without breaking the law.
[I realise that I’ve created an impossible scenario, as a zero time pilot is not able to fly solo, let alone cross country. I’m just fed up of these armchair gamers thinking they can be pilots, without any training. That’s the equivalent of me playing Operation, whilst waiting in the hospital for the receptionist to announce over the intercom “I’m sorry, the surgeon hasn’t turned up for work today, is there anybody who can perform surgery?”].

If you tell people not to do something, that has no real consequences, they are often more inclined to do it. There is literally dozen's of examples out there, like people trying to cancel shows because they think the contents are offending to them, just for so many people to watch the shows, just because they've heard about it from scandels. People that wouldn't have watched them in the first place, because they wouldn't have otherwise heard or thought of watching it.
Also, isn't this a single player game? Why trying to limit what one does in a single player sand box game. It's not affecting others.

Am I the only one who's irritated that the F-14 is being flown with its wings in the stowed position for on the carrier deck, and don't come at me saying it can sweep its wings, I know that, but that specific setting shown in this vid, that angle is more swept back than anything it is supposed to be in flight.
