Senegal's president Bassirou Diomaye Faye recently visited Burkina Faso to meet the army junta, President Ibrahim Traore. This meeting was seen as crucial in strengthening ties between the two states. The key issues for the talks were on security, development, economy and regional integration, which was basically looking at the possibility of Burkina Faso rejoining ECOWAS. Diomaye was radical in the campaigns on fighting France but with these meetings, the gears seem to have shifted. Is Diomaye trying to be the bridge between Africa and France?

Ibrahim has also been elected president of Burkina Faso for 5 years by parliament even though the people screaming outside wanted 10 years, he was originally only gonna get 3 but the protest made the parliament give him 2 more years, he is indeed loved by our people especially the youth

    Hi,
    Interesting analysis!
Mali, Burkina and Niger are bound to continue with their new alliance. No matter with that.
However in thé future, they should not exclude to be back to Ecowas, provided that group is deeply reformed and match their main aspirations.
As for Senegal, It is about better balancing international relationships. Senegal should rebalance their interests vs France. It’s not about replacing France by Russia. They should cooperate with all countries they want, including France, but on a win- win basis. In terms of cooperation, priority should be with African continent. That’s why Diomaye first visited 10 african Neighbourg

    Hi,
    Interesting analysis!
I do think Mali, BF and Niger might be right to create their own group. Up to them.
However they should be open to be back to ECOWAS in the future, if the right reforms are implemented.
They could benefit from a reformed Ecowas in terms of security, economic cooperation, people free moving through west Africa. These 3 countries have huge diasporas in other west African countries. Not wise to cut ties with them

I appreciate your insights and agree that maintaining ties with ECOWAS could be beneficial in the long run.

As for Diomaye Faye, he visited 10 African countries, mainly neighbours since his inauguration. Priority in cooperation should hence be with African countries.
As for France, it’s more about rebalancing the relationship on a win-win basis, not about cutting all ties or replacing by Russia.
Senegal should cooperate with all countries on mutual interest basis.
However cfa franc and foreign military barracks should not be negotiable.
A part from that, I do not see any harm on visiting France or whatever country, if you are fully aware of your own country interests and determined to defend those.

Kindly note: The distinction between a revolution and a coup is not always clear however, while a coup is usually a conspiracy of a small group, a revolution or rebellion is usually started spontaneously by larger groups of uncoordinated people. Also note that sometimes, a coup is labelled as a revolution. Though the change in Senegal 🇸🇳depicted democracy, the changing of the guard can be classified as a revolution.

Ma'am it's boring what you are doing because what you do is read and don't show preparedness. I suggest you Internalise the fact then come and present, that would spark interest and eager to listen.
