Absolutely breathtaking - you did an incredible job here, especially given the lack of replay feature in the sim. This must have taken a lot of time and effort to make.
Fun fact: The A320 (as most jets) is not authorized to operate in London City, the reason being that the steep approach would require the engines to be set at a very low thrust setting (low RPM) which would compromise the safety of a go-around since the engines would take too long to spool up. Now the A318 is approved because it has a special "steep approach" mode where the speedbrakes partially extend to add drag and hence require to keep the engines at a higher setting, the speedbrakes retract automatically during flare or in the event of a go around.

Great video! And hugely impressive detail in the game. Pre lockdown I worked in on of those Canary Wharf buildings and the in-game scenery is picture perfect. Having planes fly so close to the buildings is pretty disconcerting IRL, particularly when they're taking-off westbound.
I landed at city airport last weekend (but from the other direction) from Italy on BA. It was interesting approach because of the use of speed breaks to keep the speed under control whilst on the steeper than usual descent. Might be useful for others to know for use in the sim. I bought the Orbx City airport earlier today, after watching this Innsbruck and the London city pack are def on my list. Great video!
I've flown into and out of City airport a few times. My favourite was when we approached from the east, but landed on 09 - the turn to base and then final was amazing - felt like I was in a fighter jet - they have to crank it right over before they get to the tall buildings at Canary Wharf, and then nose down massively. Was so much fun! Also, taking off on 27 is fun - holds at max power on the brakes and then you catapult off with an incredibly steep climb out. Great airport!
Great write up, Brazil83. I’ve flown into City Airport once, on a KLM Avro RJ85 from Amsterdam. Not as dramatic a landing as yours, but I was astonished at our steep nose down approach to the runway, and the last minute flare, air braking upon touch down and the powerful brakes that brought the airliner to a very quick halt - and all without reverse thrust! That steep nose down was almost like coming in on the now retired Space Shuttle!
The ultra-high resolution of the ground scenery and aircraft fuselage detail, is absolutely mind-blowing, in comparison to any other flight simulator ever created by the hand of man in the past. Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020, with its three-dimensional, true-to-life real-world GLOBAL ground scenery downloaded on the fly, along with its spectacular weather and cloud formation generator, amounts to a quantum leap, and a MAJOR milestone in the genre's evolution, that knocks the ball clear out of the park. I now have a compelling reason to upgrade my computer.
As I can remember, only the A318 and A319 from the A320 Family have the permission to land in London City because these plains have a Steep approach mode. Innsbruck Airport is restricted for the smaller 318 and 319 too because of the short runway.

Gosh that was indeed the most dangerous experience I’ve ever faced landing at London City. So glad you made it. Wonder how traumatic it would have been with the prevailing westerly winds landing in the opposite direction!

Wow Amazing !! I fly into London City from Malaga on a regular basis and this is the exact flight path that aircraft arriving from the East, have to take, when lining up for a Western approach to the runway. The scenery and landmarks are so exact it is awesome, right down to individual buildings. From the English Channel in the East, fly over Kent/Essex coasts on Thames Estuary, just before Queen Elizabeth Bridge, Dartford, head SW over Bexley, Greenwich, Lewisham boroughs towards Brixton (and Oval Cricket Ground), turning N over South Bank of Thames (with the Shard 1000 feet tall, and London Eye), Parliament on N Bank, before turning E, with St Pauls Cathedral and City of London Financial District to the left, Canary Wharf Financial District ahead (Towers 850 feet tall - when flying over the Shard and then Canary Wharf for real, it feels like you could reach out and touch the buildings)). Finally you see the Excell Centre to the left and the Millenium Dome/O2 Arena, Greenwhich to the right before landing. The details in the graphics are so exact, that you can even make out Belmarsh Prison in the middle distance at 7.42.
While I admire your persistence in landing an A320 at London City, the reason why it took you 27 attempts to land an A320 Neo at that airport is because in real life no airline would land an A320 at London City. Mid-range airliners seen at London City include the ATR 42 (both −300 and −500 variants), ATR 72, Airbus A318, Bombardier Q400, BAe 146/Avro RJ, Dornier 328, Embraer ERJ 135, Embraer 170, Embraer 190 and Fokker 50. So it's not really a "dangerous" airport, I've flown in and out of there many times in the sim with no issues but then I don't use a A320 due to what I've already said (The biggest I would fly in/out of there would be a Cessna Citation Longitude). The smallest airport near London that is used by A320 Neos would be London Luton.
@@Violincase That's great but that size of aircraft were never meant to land at London City, hence why the runway is so short. Also my point about the A320 not landing at London City in real life (and the 737 for that matter) still stands. The biggest aircraft that actually lands there irl is the Airbus 318 (and there's only 1 that lands there) which will soon be replaced by the Airbus 220.
@@Violincase Of course they weren't, you the only person to land a 737 at London City WHICH DOES NOT list that aircraft as ever landing there on either it's official website or on Wikipedia. Proof or it never happened.
This truly is beautiful! Looks amazing. Would be great in the future to see train simulators using this sort of technology! This coming to Xbox in the future?
@@noaj91 it's a ptu power transfer unit. Transfers hydraulic power from one system (yellow I think) to blue (I think). Besically a turbine powered pump. The pressure from one side powers a pump which increases the pressure on the other system without either systems fluid ever going near each other. It kicks in hen there's a 500psi difference between the both systems and pressurises it back up to 4000psi
Aint no a320's landing at city airport, blew my immersion ;) Living next door to it you needn't give them ideas either lol. Nah seriously though only certain aircraft can do it anyway luckily..
Total newbie here. I was stunned that an A320 can drop down to the airport. The last I read was (and I'm not sure how old the article was) concerning the Gulfstream 650ER getting certification to land at City Airport. The G450 had been the "largest" Gulfstream approved. This article was about getting the 550 and 650 certified. I would have thought an A320 would need a vastly longer runway to sit down on. Being an old guy who started out playing video games with "pong" 50 years ago, I am gobsmacked by the level of detail in this simulator program. Even in the early 1990's, no one really could see the development of the amount of memory and the pixelation necessary to bring graphics this detailed on to a screen.
The video is amazing. Unfortunately misleading. MS should pay this guy for making it look like FS2020 isn't complete garbage. They should pay him millions to be exact because had I and I am sure many others not already wasted $120 on this junk, this video clearly would have encouraged me to do so. The actual sim runs nowhere close to this. And I have a 9900k @ 4.9 Ghz, an RTX 2080 Ti and 32 GB RAM.
Makes the sim so realistic, doesn't it? :D It's the sound of the PTU as it balances the pressure between the left and right hydraulic systems before takeoff and during taxi. If you're interested on why it happens, search for "PTU captain joe" on youtube. Well explained! Hope this helps :)

Very true Airbus A220 fomerly Bombardier Cseries can also land in London City. Probably the biggest mid range that can land there
I've landed twice at London City in a Boeing 737 (can't remember which variant), which is about the same size as an A320
@@Violincase That's great but that size of aircraft were never meant to land at London City, hence why the runway is so short. Also my point about the A320 not landing at London City in real life (and the 737 for that matter) still stands. The biggest aircraft that actually lands there irl is the Airbus 318 (and there's only 1 that lands there) which will soon be replaced by the Airbus 220.
acurisur, those 737 landings were not simulations...
@@Violincase Of course they weren't, you the only person to land a 737 at London City WHICH DOES NOT list that aircraft as ever landing there on either it's official website or on Wikipedia.
Proof or it never happened.
This truly is beautiful! Looks amazing. Would be great in the future to see
train simulators using this sort of technology! This coming to Xbox in the future?
Yes
LOL. the plane's control surface mechanical systems made it sound like the plane was barking, at the end. Beautiful flight! Thanks for sharing.
I loved the intro. Top class work. It felt like watching a documentary for a moment. Landing was so smooth although the slope was steep. Well-done.
This game looks absolutely amazing. I just wish I had a computer that could handle it.
Get an xbox series s
The famous Airbus "dog barking" sfx at the end!
Good old PTU
I have always wondered what it is. Anyone?
@@palward1996 I saw a video on RUclips a few weeks ago but already forgot, I think it is a cabine air pressure pump
Aint no a320's landing at city airport, blew my immersion ;)
Living next door to it you needn't give them ideas either lol.
Amazing video I had to send this to a bunch of friends just to show it off keep up the good work
Wish this video goes trending just like the other MFS20 vids...also would love to see the circle to land RWY08 approach at LOWI
@@vasily2022 what's your point?
And a game to be called a garbage Is normal, everyone has diff opinions about games
actually it's not one of the most realistic it is the most realist flight sim
btw you blew my mind with the video also the landing was perfect
you should install liveries and the engine sound mod just a suggestion also the a32nx which is a zibo mod of it
Sound mod? ffs, THE SOUNDS ARE AMAZING AS IT IS... Who ever is making sound mods is an idiot.
Which sound mod ?
There's a sound mod already?
absolutely a huge effort and great editing!!!! man well done!
That was a very smooth landing at LCY, well done! All your attempts paid off!
When you put 144p video quality on this, it really looks realistic as its shot from a phone camera or something
“One of the most realistic flight simulators”no it IS the most realistic
Before PMDG released its planes it's not :D
Nah the physics aren’t that good even xplane p3d etc, has better physics I mean if you slam into the runway you don’t bounce
I never say this but this was FUCKING SICK!!!! 🤩
We seriously need more... :)
This channel is literally underrated such good content
This flight simulation is as real as it gets.
Can someone tell me what’s the function of the sound at 3:22 , I heard it every time when I onboard A320 , I really want to know 😂
Makes the sim so realistic, doesn't it? :D
It's the sound of the PTU as it balances the pressure between the left and right hydraulic systems before takeoff and during taxi. If you're interested on why it happens, search for "PTU captain joe" on youtube. Well explained! Hope this helps :)
Ashwin Srivastava Okay I will check it out later Thanks mate 🙏

Best Prepar3d videos : Max737Ifly.
Best X-Plane videos : Max737Ifly.
And best Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020) videos ? Max737Ifly of course !
Thanks for all the great job you did and still do !
Can someone tell me what that noise is at 3:21 I hear it the whole time when I fly and it makes me a little nervous
Its the PTU ( power transfer unit) and you hear it when Engine number 2 starts
Dude you're awesome this is nat geo quality or something you definitely get my sub keep up !
As someone who only lives 15 mins away from City airport I can safely say the game or computer whatever has captured everything to a T. From buildings to layout of roads. I’m really
Impressed.
