In a recent address in Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar highlighted India's impressive developmental strides over the past decade. He emphasized that every day, the country constructs 30 km of highways and 14 km of railway tracks, along with building 8 new airports and 2 metro rail systems annually. This remarkable progress has significantly enhanced India's global image. Jaishankar pointed out that the number of income tax payers has more than doubled, from 3.5 crore to over 8 crore, and Provident Fund subscribers have increased by 6 crore. Additionally, the number of colleges and universities has doubled, underscoring the comprehensive growth fueling a "Viksit Bharat".
