I remember the RWBY team had an event similar to VTubing years ago using the 3D models, but the tracking software was still early in development and very buggy at the time. It's nice to see them revisiting the concept years later after the software had time to develop. It sounds like they will actually continue using it for a time.

Putting aside just the writers/animators not thinking of, wanting to, or being able to do it consistently and therefore avoid it entirely, in universe it could always just be the problem with prices or Ruby not knowing how, or thinking adding it to her list of skills is unnecessary or too hard currently

The hand movements are so expressive! It’s lovely to see Models as well made as this.
To feed Ruby’s crippling weapon infatuation (I sure can’t relate) I have a whole teams worth of weapons I would love to share!
Team ODIN is stuffed full of adorable weapons!
From Ostins Duel Glaive, Gungnir! Able to be split into short spears each with their very own Flamethrower attachment! Poise and power all in one!
Then we have Inu’s claws, Bygul & Treygul! The knuckles can be loaded with vials of dust, or it can transform into a deadly marksman rifle! Swift, versatile, and surprisingly lightweight! (I even have concept art for this one!)
However my personal favorite must go to the 2nd member of Team ODIN. Drakena’s Lindwyrm. A 3 staged weapon suiting every situation for all your huntressing needs. A Warbow for extreme long ranges, splitting into duel Järvenpää style knifes for close range, and finally transforming into two individual 6 shooter revolvers complete with Dust compatible chambers, that can keep you safe in any range in between!
If you’re wondering about that 4th member, they aren’t much just a couple of shoulder length gauntlets with a Fricken mini gun and 50 caliber sniper rifle built in! These are more then a bit heavy However 😅 Only a man as capable (if slightly unhinged) as Niha can wield it safely.
There you have it! Team ODIN’s weapons in all their steely glory! I hope y’all had a bit of fun reading these, as they were incredible fun to make! I adore the Scandinavian flare they share!

I like the idea of a modular broadsword with a gun in its hilt. Being able to block an attack like it was a shield when together, break the weapon into two swords for an assault or open it up to take a shot sounds real cool.
That sounds cool. I would want dual sword combo weapon too . One would be a straight sword and the other is a dagger. The pommel of the two swords can combine to form a twin blade. I could apply dust to the weapon to deal elemental damage. If anyone has played Bloodborne I was thinking it would be similar Rakuyo from that game. How about the rest of you what would you want for one?

I like the idea of a M60 Machine Gun with an ammo box attached to it. When the gun turns into a melee weapon, the ammo box is then thrusted to the front and used as the head of a hammer, thus becoming a one handed war hammer 🔨

Ruby as a VTuber has to probably be one of the best ideas ever of all time. Can’t wait to see more, but aside from that. Actually made a weapon for my OC, well technically multiple but gonna stick with one & keep it short since there is a limit but to make it quick it’s a Sword-Scythe-Sniper combo with the sniper being bolt action & has a revolver like chamber to allow different ammunition types like Fire, Ice, Lightning, etc. Wether this will get noticed or not who knows but the rest of the comments probably have very fun weapons to post & we’ll see what happens next
I also have a team of OCs who started at Beacon the same year as Team RWBY. They're friends with the four main girls and help them on their mission.
Gonna wait for Red Team to have these types of models so I can watch Simmons and Grif bicker on a screen.
How quickly Ruby melted my heart...
This is the best idea ever!!! It’s going to be great having Ruby here on Earth and I’m hoping Yang and the others will stop by as special guests every now and then. As for a weapon I would create a pair of black and silver dagger pistols called Silent Seeker. You can coat the blades with steam dust to increase it’s sharpness to cut most things or fire steam bullets that hit the enemy and both blinds and binds them for a while.

As for my weapon. It would basically be a gravity hammer/dust railgun combo. The hammer form sorta has three sections; the head which is a cubic hunk of black metal that glows with gravity dust from within and also has a hard light axe-like blade on one side. the handle takes up the other two sections; the first being relatively thin, only thick enough to wrap a hand around while the other section is more of a big round cylinder near the head. There is also a small hard light blade on the hilt. The entire handle shifts and shortens into the railgun form that fires small metal shells that contain dust crystals that explode on impact. I hope this is enough information to go on and isn't confusing at all 😅. I hope you get to this one and am excited to see it. I'll be putting a sketch I drew on the twitter post that brought me here. Same account name: EthosTheET. Just so you don't accidentally di this twice.

Gauntlet's definitely, strong enough of the outside to deliver a mean punch but the inside maybe have something to absorb some impact. And who knows maybe even a feature to fire out dust.

As for the weapon, well weapons. First weapon it's a sword that can use dust, like Myrtenaster! As for the second weapon, it's a bow that can create its own arrows, something similar to Velvet's weapon in terms of creating arrows.
It’s great to see Ruby getting into the Vtuber experience, even if I’m not one to talk. For my weapon, though I have a few different ones, for this one, I call it Rairyukami, which means “thunder dragon god”. It’s a type of great sword with a single edged blade. The hilt is large and has a short, rectangular shape with four blue spikes on the top and bottom of the hilt. There’s a spiked guard over the handle, which is long enough to wield with one or two hands. There are two glowing sections on the hilt and a blue lightning bolt with a dragon’s head at the end on the flat sides of the blade. The glowing sections are for what my semblance would be if I had one. Lightning. Generating lightning into the blade allows the sword to use that lightning for a variety of ranged attacks. When the first glowing section lights up, the blade gets shorter and the handle extends and it becomes a glaive-type weapon. When both glowing sections are lit up, the sword can take one of two forms. It can either have the handle pull out to reveal a smaller katana sword with a blue blade from within. Or, the spikes on the back side of the blade shrink inwards, the hilt rotated 90 degrees on the handle, which extends, and then the blade becomes segmented and curves to form a scythe. I actually used this as a weapon I a RWBY fanfiction story I write called RWBY: The Storm of KEPL, and it’s used by my main OC in the story, Khazhak Rairyu, leader of Team KEPL, who let’s just say becomes immensely loyal to Ruby. His semblance is lightning in the story. It follows the story of RWBY, but with a few changes on it.

I love Ruby so much!!! 😂 I do agree with the comment above about it is awesome to see her bubbly self again (although I can understand the NEED to be honest and just let your feelings out instead of just putting on the "always happy" facade)
For my dream weapon, I have always liked long range attacks so maybe a bow and arrow, but the quiver in which the arrows are stored becomes a gu/n, so like a crossbow but more powerful 😂
I think this idea is super fun, can't wait to see what Ruby thinks of Earth through her travels.
I think a weapon I would like to use would be something similar to Qrow's Harbinger, but simpler and less heavy. A broadsword with an integrated rifle barrel down its core and a shotgun mounted on the blade's side would be really cool. As far as weapons from Remanant go, I think Crescent Rose, Velvet's Anesidora, and Sun's Ruyi Bang/Jingu Bang are my favorites, but so many of them are incredibly cool.

Hey Ruby glad to see everything is alright on your end! Anyway for my Remnant weapon, actually I think that you’ll like it as it takes some inspiration from your teammates. A pair of gauntlets like Yang although more armored and covering the hands too. Inside to forearms are grappling lines, dust storage chambers to channel into strikes, and what you would probably like the most a hidden gun barrel in each. Not much compared to your team but is pretty cool. Anyway happy trails!

@@lfz4611no it’s definitely Lindsey doing prerecorded dialogue as Lindsey mentioned it at the recent RTX. If she sounds slightly different it’s because Lindsey attempted to make her sound like she aged a bit. Ruby was 15 and the youngest shortest one on the team. Now she’s aged to 17 and in October canonically will be 18 based on the birthdates that CRWBY provided. They even added a little more height to her to show her physical growth as she used to only come up to Yang’s chest. Now her head is slight reaching her shoulder in Volume 9.

It's a Katana-Deagle hybrid in two forms of my single weapon: Short-ranged melee, and long-ranged high-impact sidearm. (A Desert Eagle replica). Black with silver accents, and the energy and its lightings are in aqua blue (Cyan)

I was thinking a sniper-rifle staff combo. It’s pretty simple, but it’s very effective. The sniper rifle for long range, and the staff for mid to short range. The gun parts fold in to create the staff, and can come back out when necessary.
Also hearing Ruby say “It’s also a gun” was great.

Gotta go wild west with the lever-action rifle that switches into a cavalry saber. I always imagined that the lever itself would function as it would on a normal rifle while also serving as the switching mechanism to the sword
Love this as a series! As for my Remnant weapon, I’d build a set of vambraces and shin guards called Excel Gardna. I’d design each of them with gravity dust to improve knock back in my strikes, like how Jaune upgraded his shield. This would pair with my semblance Barrier, which allows me to expand and harden my aura around my body at will, though it can burn through my aura quickly if I’m not careful in my application.
This is SO CUTE!!! Love seeing Ruby enter her Vtuber phase, and I hope she enjoys exploring this little mudball humans call home!

Firstly, this is amazing and such a fun and cute concept. I can't wait to see more of Ruby being... well...Ruby! Anyway, I did make a weapon for my OC Lumina, which is like a glove attachment device (I don't know how to name or what it is called) with small ninja knives at the edge of them, making them look like animal claws that could be fired off of (which means the blades act like bullets), but if I were to have one for myself, I think I'd have something like two small or medium-sized blades (a.k.a dual blades) but they are connected by chain or some sort of ribbon. So in a way, the blades can act as blades, but then as nunchucks. Also, I think shooting things out of it would be similar to Weiss' use of her weapon and dust. So, not only could I fight in close combat, but then I'd be able to stay away and be an all-around fighter too.

To all Hunter Teams, Remember: Don't ever forget what being and having a team is all about. Both you and your leader must trust and believe in each other in order to overcome any obstacle. Conquer yourself and you'll become a person of better upstanding. Time and again Team RWBY had to learn this lesson the hard way and had to go through hell and back to finally understand the meaning of it. And now, hopefully, they have finally learned humility, patience, trust, honor, faith and courage. More importantly, Don't ever blame yourself for bad things that were far beyond your control and don't try to fix it alone. And definitely don't let it cloud your judgment. Or else you could end up like Penny, die and cause more grief. Ruby succeeded where Penny failed. She conquered herself and refused to allow her mistakes to overtake her. Be yourself and not somebody else, you're fine the way you are. It's a powerful lesson, people.

Edit: The weapon I would have would be a pair of twin katanas that can turn into SMGs and when put together they can either become a double-edge sword or a double barrel shotgun depending on the mode. And while we're at it, the blades can become ropes to swing across gaps or for wrangling. I dub them "Zilla Fangs"

My weapon, Riff Breaker is a pastel purple and white axe-shaped electric guitar and my character Ashe can infuse dust into her guitar strings to create sound-based elemental attracks such as creating a wave of fire.

A weapon I designed in my head..Well, it's not much...mine is just a simple yet effective pistol in close resemblance of a sword hilt. The dust crystal clip in my weapon can shoot bullets radiating each element, fire, ice, electricity, and gravity. It can also summon a blade from the gun and can take the colors of any one of these elements
A cane-sword/canegun combo.
A two handed battle axe that turns into a Grizzly Big Boar Anti-Tank rifle.
A machete that turns into a landmine.

Here’s one you might like. Luciano Samnium, resident of Vacuo. He has a pair of semi-automatic wrist mounted gauntlets. They connect to his wrist and extend over the back of his palm, most of the moving mechanisms are located on the pack mounted on the back of the weapon. Its main function is to act as protection, having multiple functions built into the weapon to offer more flexibility in what he needs. The guns are mounted on the frame, two barrels for each fun, belt fed from a box from the underside of the gauntlet. Held between and on the side of the barrels are three elongated blades that extend over the back of the palm by one and a half feet.

I would make two curved swords with hilts that fit together to make a bow. The ammo are dust arrows. But as swords, they would also be able to incorporate dust into them. The sword in my right, is FUS, the sword in my left, is DA, and as a bow it's ROH. And it's a Skyrim reference. So the blades are Force and Push. While the bow is Balance. I hope you like the idea Ruby. Because I have had this one on my mind for YEARS!
If you want some more ideas on how to expand this idea, Kid Icarus: Uprising does basically exactly this with its bows, two blades that can be formed together to make a bow

A weapon from the world of Ruby? An original design that I would call The Huntsman Driver. A belt that helps me transform into a suit of armor that enhances my combat physic, equip with different styles and moves from different various characters I can use the semblance of others who have come into contact with me via Scroll Keys which harvest and sample semblances from different huntsman and huntresses. Haha, sorry, I ramble when I talk about weapons myself. XD
Magus Manus
Bracers that hold dust like Myrtenaster, but can use the dust to create temporary dust weapons with explosive effects (or just stone weapons if they are in a prolonged fight). Very versatile.
The wielder has long sleeves so enemies dont initially realize where the dust weapons are coming from. Truly a trick up their sleeve.
Ok, thus may be pushing it, but the weilder could also have a semblance that turns aura and possibly other semblances into dust. The gauntlets would be a glutton for dust, and this could be a solution to that besides them being rich. (Also, Super sSmash Bros villager go brrrrr). Call it "Pocket Dust" or something.
