  • An interesting variety of trains, all taken within wandering distance of our house in East Maitland, North of Sydney, from late March to Early April. Some unusual loco combinations on the Intermodals and Coalies etc. Shot while "isolating" or walking our dog, and with some good contacts, I'll be posting these every few weeks.

Hi Graeme, You've certainly got the knack for videography! That's about the best film I've seen of the contemporary era. It has given me idea's for the future. I appreciate you sharing it, thank you.

Great clip. I love the variety of locos you have captured. I think the best aspect is from the foot bridge. I'm starting to make my own clips and upload.

Certainly a variety there! I’m used to seeing the coalies when I’m driving between Scone and Newcastle for work, but these intermodals sure bring in multiple working of locos. Is this for balancing work (putting a loco in another location to avoid light engine movements), or based on load or because of the gruelling North Coast line? Or a bit of everything??!! Great posting, thanks!!

Cathy, do you mean the footbridge or the Pitnacree Rd bridge? Light is fine at the footbridge most of the day as you can change sides, of course. The Pitnacree Bridge is best until about 1 p.m. I reckon. Other shots are down the end of King St. (dead end)
