Ali ,another year rolled past,a new one starting ,I am full of optimism for 2025, hopefully the world calms down a bit and we can all get on with living and being gardeners again .here’s to a peaceful 2025 🎉✨🌱🇬🇧
A lovely look back on last year Ali ❤ Pretty flowers, can't wait for spring to arrive for the start of the flowering season. Happy new year to you, Gerald and family 🎉🥳💐❤ x
Great video looking back on all the lovely memories of last year. Love the crazy plant lady mug and anatomy of a snail.... So true. All the best for 2025 Ali x😊
They are a very interesting and intelligent species and we watch them do some funky stuff. Last year we had one pulling down small wasp nests and eating the larva 😱
Nice look back for the year. Happy New Year Ali. Here’s to a great 2025. Rain and floods here, with snow and ice - so a wild start to January indeed. Stay warm and safe.
Thats a lovely stroll through the year Ali, loved that car show. We have a show once a year down in a plcae called Newark which is approx 152 miles from me, i used to go every year for a weekend it was fantastic, cars for show, cars for sale, stalls selling parts, live groups etc. It was awesome, i think you and Gerald would like it but you probably have bigger and better shows over there. I would , like to start 2025 by saying " THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRIEND " 🥰
Tee Hee 😁 Happy New Year Ali and Gerald 🙂 Can I use your slug pic on the garden forum? 😁 I see you have a caravan. We have a campsite and are only 10 minutes drive from the ferry if you come over to England. Mrs Zigs wants your dog 😬
Happy New Year Ali and Gerald! Love the pictures, especially the anatomy of a slug! lol Sounds about right hey Hehe. Hope you guys had a lovely Christmas and NYE? I am going through my seed collection to make list of what needs topping up. We had our red kuri squash for Christmas, which was lovely and i washed and saved the seeds. Have loads of seeds if you want me to send you some? Sowed my onions today so finger crossed they do better this year! Need to find our small seed tray for the chilli's. Wasn't going to, with the fuss of last year and just buy starts this year, but i thought what the hell and not be too stressed if it doesn't work. Hope we all have a better growing year, with less pests and more sunshine but not too hot! Take care and have a lovely rest of the holidays! x
@@myrustygarden Yes it was good thank you. We all go up to the loft window and can just about see the fireworks in London. It looks what i can only think of what WW2 must of been like but in colour. The big ones you can see clearly but most of it that is lower is different colours lighting up the clouds. Plus we see the ones in the neighbouring streets from there. We saw a fox too in the street and i think it was all shocked and confused with the sudden bangs and pops. It ended up hiding in a hedge, bless it. (Pretty sure it's the one that poops in our garden and digs things up!) Reminds me of when i was a kid and my older sister and I would got to the top floor of the flats in our pj's, where we used to live, which was nearer to the Thames and see them more clearly. I did go to London for the Millennium fireworks, which was good until we (me and ex bf) had to go home and then ended up walking all the way home as most of the transport had stopped so we took a shortcut. Funnily enough, my future hubby was there too but didn't know it at the time. I just managed to speak to a doctor and have antibiotics now as i have had a bad sinus infection over Christmas. I always get them at the worse times. Hey ho hopefully will be sorted soon. Not that i would be doing much gardening in this cold. It's meant to be snowing here for the next 3 hours so we keep checking the windows as it doesn't snow much here any more. Will be raining later, so will make the most of it if it does and go out in our coats. lol I gave our child a haircut today ready for school next week. This Christmas has gone fast this time! Anyway, hope you have a lovely week. Take care x
@ I dislike fireworks with a passion but there is a story of course 🤣. Before I lived with Gerald I lived in a townhouse it was Halloween night and in the middle of the night I was woken by people throwing rocks at the bedroom window and screaming the building was in fire. Some idiot had been pissed at the kid next door and shot rockets into the carport, unbeknownst to him the carport was full of newspapers and our entire townhouse lost half the homes. Many years in the past but people can be so stupid with them. Luckily our dog is not bothered but them but our daughter’s dog is terrified. Hope your well soon, I’m holding off sowing much but hopefully tomorrow I’ll do chillies 🌶️ peppers 🫑 and aubergine 🍆
@@myrustygarden Holy s**t that sounds awful! Was you single at the time? Did you have kid then? I love fireworks from afar and have got better over time. Before i went into the "care system", my Dad's firm had a firework display for bon fire night. By this point, i already had undiagnosed childhood PTSD but i didn't know it as i think i was 11 at the time. There was probably 30 ppl or so, not sure as i was 11 at the time. We all gathered in this central court yard to see the display. I am wearing my new powder pink coat with white interior, with powder pink golf ball sized polka dots. It had a hood with no fur but wasn't needing to wear it. It was cold and damp but no rain. Typical Nov weather for the time. I think we went to Shoreditch? They first did a few little ones and a Catherine wheel. We had sparklers and remembered what "Charlie" said on the TV. Was my first proper firework display ever irl and also with my Dad, him now a single Dad, after my Mum had passed. There was the next firework. It went up and exploded and then exploded about 3 times before one landed on my head as it exploded! Someone, not my Dad, put it out and was in pain. My Dad took me home... What happened next was nothing. Still on laundry, cleaning duty until a "weekend" visit stay of a girlfriend comes over right? I always bring a sideboard table, collector plates, etc for a visit. I actually liked his "first post widow" gf that i am aware of. She had 4 kids 2 similar ages, one in my year. We are still friends today. We don't agree on everything but she lives around the corner from us and cares for a disabled elderly neighbour in her block. She did leave my Dad thinking it was better for her kids but her husband was still apparently not nice to her. Either way so glad i am friends with her but my social anxiety and hubby want to include her more. My sister in the Netherlands tells me she is busy all the time but my sister is very intrusive and judgemental. This is a lot of reasons why i have limited social media as it was very detrimental for anything i posted on sm. Every employer i worked for she would find my direct number. I was an IT specialist. I never gave up my number and she be calling me at work or at home. She even ruined my relationship with my late mothers family, manipulating me to ask for family inheritance, when i was grieving and having PTSD. She called me twice the then said all ok been trying to call you. Me: Yes been resting lots as on antibotics. Not Been well. Sis: "You sick again" and then talks to me about having yogurt like i haven't had them before. The ones i am talking are for soft tissue and not addressing her od on uti, multi partner infections. just saying. She has caused so much damage to my health and career over the years. Personally i think i regret not drawing the line when she dabled in the Netherlands, got rejected and when off with my bf. Would have meant i didn't need to tell a lie to her fiance of 10 years and asking my mums family about her inherence when my nan died. She made no effort but manipulated me in my grief and PTSD Anyway, Yeah fireworks trigger me. I didn't expect Battersea fireworks at the time to be that big the time over head we went pre kids as well. You are on of two ppl who know my name. I just want to start again without them following my every move. I am not hiding myself or my family from fellow YT community. I am just trying to step away from that behaviour for my mental health. They already know this channel name now. Whether i am an IT Specialist or RUclipsr i can't escape it. Hope it explains some things and being vague to some people as it isn't personal as much as i would like to reply to them. x
@ I think you have done amazing things in this life time with whatever is thrown at you, yes we sometimes just like to hide away but I think for the most part the world is worth getting out in. I was divorced from my first husband and “dating” Gerald at the time of the fire, I moved in just after as I’d lost everything But we move on ❤️💚💛💜
Hey Ali...It's crazy how quickly your temps change from one extreme to another like ours. The garden is looking great, I see you got that rain your garden needed. Raccoons don't look like the burglar for nothing. 🦝 Enjoy your weekend.
