Amazing work, especially considering you managed to cut the size, but introduced a very good looking UI and no functionality reduction. FM radio was one of the main space consumers in OEFW. Do you consider writing your own spectrum app? The one by fagci is good, but i'm sure an experienced developer + ham might come up with something even better. Cheers!
Yes, that's right. As someone who does not have a proper antenna, FM-Radio is one of the important functions of UV-K5. Space for spectrum, WSPR, and FT8 has been secured. Now I am creating a spectrum that can be used in practice.
@@ianlee3061 awesome, as a guy into networks, detection and signal analysis, I really enjoy the spectrum function on a handheld like this, and this makes people explore the waves visually, this will be a banger!
i ordered that model and it just arrived, and yes a simple wire will make a great job especially on short wave. but your firmware really looks refined, especially love the details on the tuner ! keep on hacking!
I´m using firmware cec_0.3VB and it looks very nice. FM radio function is so much nicer than the original FM function. I tried pressing '*scan' key + side button 1 or side button 2, to discover fm frequencies but it did not work. One thing I would like it to change is the VFO Display fonts, when A band is selected the font should be bold, and vice versa for the B band. Look the VFO Display in F4HWN 3.1 firmware for inspiration. But don´t change the size in the first line in cec_0.3VB, it is the right size.
Yes, of course. CW transmission and reception are supported in CW mode (A1A) and FM CW (F2A) mode from 16Mhz to 1200Mhz. SSB is only supported for reception. If you select the SSB filter item in the menu, you will see pretty good performance below 450Mhz. Of course, even if it is transmitted on FM, it can be heard on the SSB receiver, but it is against the band plan lol
Thank you for your opinion. There have been many negative opinions about the cat function in the small handy, so implementation has now been stopped. I'm working on a slightly simpler CAT while working on FT-8.
TX is possible through FM broadcasting, but it has not been implemented. If anyone needs it, it can be transmitted in WFM mode. This will probably be received not only by FM Radio broadcasts but also by Wireless MIC receivers. I tested it a few months ago and was quite satisfied with the results. I will think about adding a TX function.
of course, Yes, the AM Fix(Custom AGC) function is applied not only to my firmware but also to most custom firmware. Since AGC is based on FM modulation, Custom AGC is required in AM mode (called AM Fix) and is probably applied to most firmware.

I really love the broadcast radio frequency scala. 😁👍🏻
me too, It's great that FM radio can be received even with a small antenna.
The FM radio function can never be removed. lol
can this firmware for TX?
Thank you!! Will there be 23cm CW/SSB?

I would like a scan function for radio.
Can you ad RDS RADIO DATA SYSTEM NAMES STATION RT CT PTY AF TP ...?
Great job

Great work !
What about (awaited) CAT announced in earlier video ?
Thank you for your opinion.

Good work as always :D
Thanks, I listen to FM radio every day.

@@ianlee3061 thanks for the explanation... 👍
I like this firmware
Thanks
