This wolf has the coolest walk I've ever seen in a character. He has a severe case of spinal bifida, and has the coolest down south accent just cracks me up to no end!
I believe his official name is Dixie Wolf as of the recent Tom & Jerry cartoons. Fun Fact: He was voiced by Daws Butler, who would use the same voice for Huckleberry Hound.
"Jokes over", I don't think so cause till the last second of this classic cartoon it's absolutely hilarious. I love the Wolf's whistling, i'm gonna take up whistling and walk with my hands in my pockets and walk down the streets like this chill Wolf.
People only remember Droopy, but this wolf deserve the same respect and fame than Robbie Rotten: a perfect loveable villain. His attitude and sportsmanship are just enjoyable!
The late great Daws Butler as the voice of the wolf . He was “ Huckleberry Hound “ , Elroy Jetson “ , “ Jinks “ and “ Dixie “ just to name a few . Look him up , he had a prolific career.
I remember growing up watching this thanks to my dad who had many old episodes like these on a VHS, this was my first ever encounter with english. I was born in 2003 and still I consider this type of humour as undying throughout ages and tendancies, it still makes me laugh so loudly as if I am watching it for the first time. This is fine writing right here, just one of the best artworks of the humour genre. When he turns his car in Sneak Mode I just fucking lose it everytime. Brilliant. GOOD DOG MWAN
*Blows the first two houses down with ease but on the third house he tries everything to break it down* Now there's a well built doghouse man. He should've read the three little pigs. That last house isn't budging. Maybe he could call bugs bunny though XD
I like how the wolf goes from a villainous character who enjoys catching helpless dogs to a cool guy who whistles as calmly does his job.
Maybe he's a villainous character who is just doing his job.
"Break it up, son. Joke's ovah, heah?" That always makes me laugh. This whole cartoon was hilarious. "Good joke, man!"
IKR😂😂😂
I love that scene too.
Wrong short for the Good Joke Man gag. That short wasn't even directed by Tex Avery. Sheep Wrecked which Michael Lah directed had that line.
Lol great cartoon. It's the "meow man" for me lol
The part that got me was after he said break it up son joke's over hear how the dog eyes went wide when he say that
The wolf: *Goes berserk*
Also The Wolf: *Insta-Chill* Now there is a well built dog house man.
This wolf has the coolest walk I've ever seen in a character. He has a severe case of spinal bifida, and has the coolest down south accent just cracks me up to no end!
Nah that Wolf was high as fuck
He almost sound like Huckleberry Hound.
I love when he tells the dog "jokes over"
😂😂😂
And the dog's silent "Wait, what?" response was icing on that particular cake.
Not to take away from Mel Blanc, but Daws Butler deserves his due, RIP.
He left out the funniest line EVER: "Now, don't ask us how we got the television set back!"
I died when Bulldog bit the Wolf butt and he whistling with a dog on his butt. Note he closes and locks the gate behind him. The wolf got manners.
Southern hospitality. great character development from Avery. it's hilarious.
He's also the chillest villain and whistling is Northern.
I love this wolf so much, his character is just so chill
Same!
Funny thing is, he may have a Southern accent but the song he's whistling is Northern!
Good comment man..

My favorite in this was when he was using the cat puppet and when he was meowing, he popped his head up over the fence and went, "Meow, man!"
I'm reading this right now and I'm seriously cracking up laughing I can't stop laughing. Meow Man!
Yeah 😂👍👍👍👍
I remember that, Tex Avery was the man.
I seriously bust a gut when he says that
👋🤣👍👉♥️yesss
2:29 *whistling* "Okay break it up son, joke's over hear?"😒😂 Tex Avery was the BEST of cartoon makers!😃
"If this doesn't work, I'll go into television."
What a sense of humor Tex Avery had. I grew up in a wonderful time.
Okay break it up son. Joke's over now XD
That never gets old

His attitude and sportsmanship are just enjoyable!
The reason why people remember Droopy is, besides Screwy Squirrel, he was the only recurring Tex Avery character.
ikr...... man.
@George Hall It is an old (Civil War era) religious song.... (both sides sang it)
I love him is Billy the hungry baby goat.. Billy boy, boy, boy...
Bill Hanna and Joe Barbera would use a similar personality for Huckleberry Hound, and Daws Butler would reuse the voice.
Pure and simple; a Classic! I laugh to tears no matter how much I watch this!

No wonder why I recognize that voice
He also somewhat sounds like Boomhauer
Check out "Elderly Man River." Stan Freberg actually saw "Political Correctness" years ahead.
@Botardo87 Not _all_ of them.
Just the way he whistles and struts when something bad happens, like this is so frequent and routine he’s used to it, just cracks me up. 😂🤣
l love this wolf so much, his character is just so chill
This whistle song has been in my head for over 30 years
Same here
It's catchybas hell. It sound very southern. Sounds similar to that Dixie song
It's called "In The Year of Jubilo" and the lyrics are rather, ahm, racist.
"Year of Jubilo" is the tune. Although it's a catchy and upbeat tune, the lyrics are not politically correct.
Kingdom Coming is the song.
I love tex avery because he is a tension relaxer like tom and jerry
Agree
"Break it up, son. Joke's over, heah?"
I’m in my early 50s and I’m still laughing at Tex Avery cartoons
What's that song that the wolf is whistling
We still laugh because Tex Avery didn't aim his cartoons at kids, so many of the jokes we still find funny today as adults.
@@nievelatino9691 its from the american civil war

Droopy: 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10.

Okay break it up son, jokes' over ya hear?
Joke's over heya
Pity that they no longer make such good quality and funny cartoons like this anymore.😭
Granted, some jokes won't be able to be put in, but I agree.
same here there'd be protests and lawsuits from all the people too weak to understand jokes
Part of the problem is not just the times. But also Tex Avery was a genius.....irreplaceable in any era. He was one of a kind!
Only the black-face gags are an actual issue, everything else could be passed off as a Nickelodeon cartoon LuL
@@vinylscratch735 Turning red had some tame adult jokes and adults of a certain political persuasion had a bitch fit over it
the last instruction for the grenade- THROW!!! 🤣🤣🤣
Droopy dealt with wolves several times, but this one is the most mellow.
That wolf has made quite a number of appearances. But yet no matter what he always whistles that same old tune.
Kingdom Coming
My favorite wolf!
The wolf so chill nothing bothering him
He makes me laugh that way😂
now that's a real cartoon.........................
Best when said in that Daws Butler voice, ir best impression thereof.
The voice and talk of the wolf is very funny 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This is pure gold! 🤣🤣🤣

I don't remember the big bad wolf being such a chill ass dude.

I've known plenty of dudes up in Central Arkansas who talked exactly like that wolf 😂
The other cartoon with Joe the wolf, is most hilarius. When he come from the railroad, and say; "Who? Me? I hate lambs! 😂😂😂😂
they don't make cartoon characters as chill and hilarious as this wolf, man...

A wolf as a Dog catcher tho despite the Wolf being canine himself
My favorite cartoon characters ever
Vi muito esse desenho na minha infância! Gostaria de ver outra vez só que completo.
I love the wolf's voice.
Fun Fact: That’s the same voice as Huckleberry Hound.
Funny thing is, he may be a southern wolf, but the song he's whistling is a Union one!
Rebellious beatnik southern wolf. Makes sense to me.
Kingdom Coming was a southern one. Though north and south would use the same melodies for their own tunes.
I love cartoon logic
Gotta love how the wolf is just so chill. 😅
Never get bored with cartoon

High-larious. That car is stealthier than the Batmobile.
The moment he started whistling, started having flashbacks.
Lol, love it.
