I remember when this song came out, I only heard it few times on the radio and saw it once on TV. After that it seemed to disappear. It only spent a few weeks in the charts, and apparently its highest chart position was 36. I am surprised because this track is so damn good, i feel this song should have been number 1 and one of those classic songs everyone knows. I'm so happy more people have gotten to hear it over the years.
With this track, i always think how some music stays on radio, and some don't. I think this piece should still be played on radio these days, it's just so incredible perfect pop music...
Covered this in 1994. Love the string synth pads with augmented 5th following the utterly brilliant guitar middle 8. Up a semitone into it as well. Music at its best.
I really like this song, I heard it a few days ago on the radio and I wrote in a peace of wood the name (I didnt have any papers at hand) and today I found the wood and I am here!! Thks for sharing!! 😘
Really Great Song of Dave Stewart. Heart of Stone was Released in 1994, I have the Album Greetings from the Gutter since 24 Years and Also Two Greatest Hits Albums from Eurythmics. The Second Single from the Greetings from the Gutter Album was Jealousy. But Heart of Stone is the best Song ever. Greetings from Germany!
I remember blacking from too much alcohol... about 4am in the morning I'm at a party the black mist lifts and I'm lookin through the music selection and I see this song "we gotta play this!" everybody groans...apparently while incoherent I'd been playing this song back to back for the last half an hour and tackling anybody trying to change the stereo...awesome
Buenos recuerdos...esta cancion llego a ser una de mis favoritas y llamaba una y otra vez a la radio pidiendo esta cancion y para confundir al DJ me presentaba con diferentes nombres y voces para apoyarla en el top 10....que recuerdos!!!
Fantastic song - I discovered it some years ago (in a film) and couldn't say who it was by & when but I found out & realised I already heard it (of course since it was a hit !) but I didn't remember (shame !) - It came out right in the mid 90's, my teen, this is why it bugged me at the first listen... The strings are (like the rest of the song) quite amazing, maybe not the most essential element in the song (for me - it could have been replaced with hammond organ - Personnaly) but really good !

The version of this live at Darly's house is superb. Dave's guitar is something else, talented geezer.
Never really paid much attention to this song when it was a mini-hit for Stewart years ago, but love it now, particularly the Daryl's House version.
Listen to the Prince's Trust version too, serious quality - and the blonde looks incredibly hot !!!
Daryl's house version is amazing! 🔥

Back in the 90´s, there were so many good music, so many great videos like this one.
Fantastic sweet soulful guitar solo reminding me of Summer Breeze by the Isleys.

An excellent sample of Pop-Art. Thanks
Love the dude playing bass - he is an icon. If I remember correctly he also played for "the Godfather of Soul"
Yes, Bootsy Collins played with James Brown.
This is art in every sense of the word.
The guitar solo is absolutely sensational. Anyone spot the semitone up key change ?
Spot on
Not until you mentioned it (if you read this after 11 years haha ), but now I think there's another one right after the solo, into the chorus.
@@obnoxious. Laughed my head off. Of course I recognised it, how could I miss it!!!!!

Oh god, when the lead guitar kicks in. Utterly sublime!
Great song. He absolutely kicked this at 'Live from Daryl's House.'
18 years ago during my studies I was crazy about this song. she sounds better very loud.
I wish I could play on a guitar like that...:(
I remember blacking from too much alcohol... about 4am in the morning I'm at a party the black mist lifts and I'm lookin through the music selection and I see this song "we gotta play this!" everybody groans...apparently while incoherent I'd been playing this song back to back for the last half an hour and tackling anybody trying to change the stereo...awesome

Wow, I haven't heard this song in ages! :')
Like any great song, this one sounds best when listened to at maximum volume.
The middle 8 of the song makes it though... great sound.. captures the sound of the mid 90s perfectly
Love you Dave. Brllliant.
