My Dad used to sell Cutco. They told salesmen to cut a penny in 1/2 to demonstrate the strength of the scissors, but then they told them to stop because it was defacing currency. That was in the 60s.
I remember one video where the kids were so excited to get stuff from gum ball machine, so rather you make money or not, your making children happy and that’s priceless ❤
I think the gum ball thing is rather fun, and Josh your excitement is contagious. You’re like a little kid who just got a cool toy out of the machine when you talk about it. 😂😂

Hi Josh, just a recommendation for redeeming the gumball numbers at checkout. Would it help to put the prizes in ziplock bags say 1-10 in one bag and 11-20 in another? That way the kind folks at the front counter are not having to search through 100 baggies trying to find number 82.
I was thinking along the same lines as you. Maybe throw it all in a bag and let anyone who buys the capsule reach in and pick out a toy. Lots less work.
I love the gum ball idea!!! I asked my Hubby if we can do a road trip to get a gum ball...lol...he said "Did Florida run out of gum balls?" and of course he thinks, I have completely lost my mind.
That vase with the holes is a vintage strawberry planter. Water goes in the top. I don't have a dog with medical problems, but I do have a cat who could use a week at a fat farm.
Maybe you could save time for the cashier by instead of matching a ticket and ticket you could put a token in then go up to the front and they swap the token for a random toy out the box that the cashier can grab at random

Just a thought - if you know who the dog surgery lady is, and you know that most of the stuff is lower value, why not do a special Whatnot auction of it all - recoop your investment and expenses, the profits go to the dog surgery? That way we can all chip in a little?

Cool score on the coke bottle bank, I do pest control for a living, and was in a customers attic, and they had one in there attic old and dusty, I told them about it and they had no clue what I was talking about, so I brought it down and said it was probably the old owners , so they said throw it away, I asked if I could have it. They said by all means take it. I sold it on offer up for a hundred bucks .
Oooh, you should number the actual clear little containers in the gumball machine. Easier & then you can reuse them! Zero tiny plastic container expense.

The interest of the better prizes will put more eyes on your booth, thus bringing in more sales. Also having the bins to find items for free or next to nothing keeps the flow of interest coming in. I suspect the lady selling the t-shirts for her dog's surgery was planning to lot up some of the lower-end t-shirts. I do pretty well on clothes (especially kids clothes) that I lot up in bundles - assuming I can get them for cheap. Also, I do still try to include mostly recognizable brands such as Nike, Under Armour, and Polo Ralph Lauren.
The gumball machine seems to be quite the hit for visitors at the booth. You should come up with a hashtag for people to tag what they get for a prize 😂

Great video! I have a suggestion. Why don’t you just let the customer grab a toy from a bucket or just have the employee grab one so they don’t have to take time looking for a match number. That would help offset the cost of the prizes for the ones you have more money in. Another thing you can do is order a bulk lot of temporary tattoos. My kids would completely wipe out any quarters i had to get as many of those tattoos as they could.

The Lego have to used. When you turned the box around, you could hear the blocks rolling from one side to side inide. The blocks is deliered in several small plastics bags and these wouldn't make much noise at all.
You could take a page out of Phoenix resales book. Take a restock day and you can only get prizes for the gumball machine that you can cover with profit from items on that shop. Or just count it as marketing. Because its an awesome fun thing for all
