Jeff.. Thank you again, I love it ! I'll never forget when you and JC were on that live stream, and he tried to wrangle my " Stack O Tracks" from me in trade, or.. whatever ! LoL !! I could tell that you wouldn't have asked me for it, and know that we all want one! That's a prized Beach Boys, and especially.. where I found it .. Thrifting, of course ! .✨️ I hope you nail one down, someday.. and if I ever run across a 2nd copy, I will let you know ! Smiley Smile .. completely awesome !!🫡
I figured you would know all about FM, and I recollect you speaking about them before, actually.. I am thoroughly enjoying both FM records, Brian.. Thanks !
Great VCLT from Jeff. That title, along with "Surf's Up", includes what I consider Brian's last great compositions. Killer Prince 12". I love the Sade single as well. The Ella recording is beautiful. You do have a knack for finding great stuff!!! I can't believe those prices. Great finds, Jt.
I did brag a bit on our record hunting prowless.. Haha👍 T Cat, JC, Tuco..and Dillon, have the magic touch, from time to time as well ! That Ella would have gone for 40-50.00 in Tokyo ! I love that Prince single.. I goofed, just that one was from Bill's.. same price, about 6.00.. Thanks, Mark !
Fantastic find out in the real wild, as I like to call thrift and 2nd hand stores ! Haha 😆 It's a good one, for sure ! Thanks for looking in on this one.
Greetings Jt! I was a little surprised you passed up on the Patrick O'Hearn record since you picked up the Windham Hill label records. He is in the same genre of New Age and a wonderful artist, composer and musician. Very relaxing and enjoyable music. Great video as always my friend! I appreciate you sharing your music and vinyl journeys!
I'm pretty sure I picked it up ! Mint condition.. I pulled a lot of records after filming.. Thanks for mentioning..and I just streamed ( sampled ) it !! Excellent album. Thanks, Danny🫡
It sounds amazing, Tony ! I should do a " Best Of Bill's ".. and show my Spanish Linda !! Amongst other good finds.. Have a great day. It's still early back east ! 🫡
One thing I love about your videos, JT, is that I never know what treasures you'll find. Some really incredible finds that turns me a light shade of green. LOL!! A Japanese pressing of Lady Ella...cha ching!! What an incredible find. As is that USofA LP. Lady luck does smile down upon you, Brother. I'd love to check out your Discogs. I imagine that you have an amazing and eclectic collection. Anyway JT, another great and informative video as always. Take care and I'll see you on the next one. ✌️ ☮️
I confess, I have never entered anything into Discogs database ! I'm always too busy .. I will get around to it, though.. one at a time ! Yeah.. You know what kind of music you and I like, but.. I love stretching out with jazz and a lot of other genres... As you know, thrifting does that for us !
Hi JT! That rib cook off sounds fun and tasty! My mother is 95 and still talks about seeing Julio Iglesias in concert with my dad in the very early 80s. In the words of Alvin Lee "I'm goin' home!" That Live Ella Fitzgerald album looks as minty as it gets. I have a few Isaac Hayes albums but not what you showed. He was amazing. I saw FM open for Rush in Ottawa in /86!
I'm stoked on discovering FM ! I had heard them a long time ago.. never bought anything by them. Almost all of these records are in great shape. I like that Jody Watley single " Get Real".. at the time, the music annoyed me.. I like it now ! " To All The Girls I Loved Before".. Stone cold fact ! LoL !!! 😉 See you on yours.
Nice scores. Like many I was obsessed with Windham Hill CDs back in the 80s so finding vinyl is extra special. George Winston albums can often be found for cheap and they are well worth grabbing.
I agree.. I grabbed most of them ! I have two boxes of new age/ Windham Hill titles.. I like Alex DiGrassi a great deal.. and William Ackermann. Thanks !
It really is.. I have amassed a pretty good collection of New Age / Windham Hill .. ( 2 boxes ).. I have been collecting them for about 20 yrs. now.. Thanks for watching.✌.
Hi JT. Thank you very much for that Brian Jackson album. It was very good and something I would not have thought about buying. I really enjoyed playing it, huge thank you. The Salvation Army did have a lot of album. Kudos to you for being able to find a few nuggets in all of that vinyl.
Glad you like it , Steve ! I have a copy. and I sent one to Mark, as well. With that 180 Gram vinyl.. mine isn't the flattest ! I didn't bother returning mine because the sonics are excellent, and it plays quiet ! If you get a chance, read about Brian.. He never got his dues collaborating with Gil Scott Heron.. Interesting story. Thanks for watching this one, and see you on yours ! 😊
It plays and sounds.. Good ! I would have never thought or believed to find that thrifting ! One of the several reasons I keep doing it ! Thanks for watching, Dave✌️
Alright Jamie.. I have even better cheap vinyl scores as of late ! Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel.. Pink Fairies "What A Bunch Of Sweeties" and the debut Blondie ! ( from Bill's garage earlier today ).. Later, dude ! 🤔
Yeah.. It was nice of him.. I sent him 2 nice titles as well, a ways back.. I never had Smiley Smile on record, ever ! Very cool .. USOA at a Thrift store ! Who would have thunk ! LoL !! 🤣 Thanks for checking this one out.
Fantastic pick-ups! The maxi single Prince and Sade are great finds. I spotted John Klemmer's album when you were flipping through the vinyl stack..my heart jumped! I'm a big fan of Klemmer. So interesting and educational to learn about other artists I know nothing about. Thanks for an enjoyable video.
Hi JT. Lovely VCLT from Jeff Whitcher. Considering the tortuous background to the recording of 'Smiley Smile', it's a mighty fine record ... The other record that caught my eye is the original Together pressing of the Hillmen. Now that is definitely minty (so much so that you thought it was a later pressing). Chris Hillman looks so young! His mandolin playing is extraordinary, and the harmonies are wonderful.
That's exactly right , Carl.. It is so clean, and because the recordings are from 1963-64. I thought this to be a later pressing ! I will eventually get the newer excellent stereo repress of Smiley Smile.. Right now, it is a 50 Dollar record Maybe I should enjoy my great sounding Cd. instead LoL ! a tough thig for a vinyl collector to do .
Aloha Jt, You purchase some really awesome Record Albums. That Tonio K. Lp, brings back memories , I had a promo copy back in 1978, which was also on green vinyl. Thanks again for sharing your record purchases. Brings back some great memories . Looking forward to watching your next video. Mahalo Ed
Thanks, Ed ! At Bill's Garage on Tuesday.. I pulled out that Liz Damon's Orient Express on White Whale ! I couldn't believe it ! I bought a 7" of hers at Aloha Got Soul on King Street last year.. that funky one, anyway.. yeah, Tonio K.. good stuff ! Mahalo✌️
It’s funny how different the Salvation Army/Goodwill type places are around here. All I ever find is normally a stack of records that are total trash. Nice you are able to find a few keepers! Have a good week JT😊
Same to you, Gary.. This Thursday should be fun with you and the boys on a podcast.. I will check it out ! Thrifting has been excellent lately, and Bill's garage is still producing, as well ! Unreal.🤓.
Good golly, I wish we had better thrift store vinyl selections in Maine. Some great finds. Digging that sealed Jody Watley. Nice Smiley Smile VCLT. I have an OG stereo copy that my dad picked up in 1967. Such a fun album. Love the song Vegetables. I’ve never heard of Tonio K, I will have to give it a stream. Happy spinning.
Thanks for mentioning the Jody Watley record ! I appreciate this style of music way more as the years go on ! It's pretty infectious.. and good to move to !!! Haha✌
Wow ! What great scores ! That Wally Badarou looks interesting ! On the wishlist FM’s a great band ! Love that progressive rock ! Wow that USOA ! Had never heard of them Psychedlic/Acid rock ! My cup of tea ! another for the wishlist ! Good stuff there, man ! Your Salvation Army store there still has good selections and super cheap !! They’ve ransacked all our stores here in San Diego ! Lol, you’ll never find anything anymore ! Cool video ! Cheers
I'm lucky, JD.. I am one of the few relentless pickers for records in some of the stores. I go to almost all of the thrift shops around, and love discovering new ones that I never get to ! I always think of you being from L.A. ? You're in San Diego.. I lived on 29th and Juniper in 2000. ( South Park ).
That USOA is repressed by Sundazed as well.. It's a popular vintage release.. unusual album.. That's what's appealing to many.. right ? See you on your channel !
Hey J.T. never heard of F.M. and excited to give them a listen. When my folks passed, I picked up many Windham Hill artists on cd for cheap. I especially love George Winston, Liz Story, Mark Isham, Tim Story etc...They helped me through those times feel their presence. Also, have you ever heard of Marshall Styler from Austin he is another great New Age pianist....thanks JT for all your shares. I really enjoy your Channel...Paul
Hmmm.. I will stream Marshall Styler.. Sounds like he must be excellent ! Thank you, Paul.. For the encouragement ! My favorite WH Artists are : Michael Hedges, William Ackermann and Alex De Grassi !! So many great ones, though..😏
thanks for the tips on flash and tonio k.. you remain a man like myself. i however am seen as a crazy person for giving people cd's with songs like "small beginnings", "why can't we live together?" and "h-a-t-r-e-d"!
Went to my favorite Goodwill in Knoxville about 8 years ago. Some former USAF vet stationed in England had donated all of his early 1980s vinyl. Mint gloss vinyl and all UK pressings. Got what I thought was valuable but it was overwhelming to cull through it all standing and carrying the albums The vinyl went quickly when word got out. I think I went twice and by the third the table was clear.
Right.. That's how it works. I leave some behind. often.. Because I do so well out in the "real wild" as I like to call thrifting, and 2nd hand stores, garages and storerooms. My Grandma is from near Taswell in Campbell Co. It's called Cupp, Tn. ( In the old days ).. Thanks for checking this one out..🙂
Hi JT!!! glad to see you really score big at the salvation army store and the record look in pretty good condition too, that's something you don't see very often. Nice Prince single and i guess for a fair price. Btw killer VCLT from Jeff, very generous to send you Beach Boys "SS" and you really scared a little almost picking Julio in English, lol. cheers and be well
Nice of Jeff to send me a great record, like that ! I did buy Julio !! lol ! 89 Cents.. and eventually, I can give it away, or trade it ! I love thrifting.. and I know you know that ! Spring is coming in Chile ! Chao, Cristian..
I'm new at this band.. but, I believe he followed Nash The Slash ! They had a personnel change early on.. OK.. I looked it up, that is what happened, Ben Mink followed Nash The Slash. I love Rush, but I'm not an expert at this or that.. I didn't know that Ben Mink played on "Signals".. Love that record , as listening just yesterday..
Wow ! Unreal.. Isn't it the best thing.. To find something like that for so cheap and for the albums mean something important to us ! That's one of the reasons I still do this .. ( thrifting ) a lot ! I check in to different stores often, because we never know when the magic is gonna happen ! Thanks for this comment, you can see , it inspired me !
Completely took me by surprise ! USOA .. I will have to spin it , again. Hope you are doing well, Bro.. See you on yours.😊 ( I just got back from Bill's ).. It might not ever stop ! LoL !!
Great selections JT. Surprisingly I have both Flash albums. Both have disco looking covers, for a prog. band? Luckily I found out about the band. FM was always a great band here in Toronto. Thanks for sharing.
I am excited to have records by both mentioned bands, Walter.. FM is terrific, and Flash, through the years..I heard some. I am impressed ! So fun to still collect and discover bands that I never got into ! Thanks, again😉
You saved the best till last JT! That United States Of America is a find and half, bet your heart skipped a beat when you saw that cover! 😀Good to see finds like these are still possible at thrift stores. Unfortunately UK stores check everything on Google and price based on the internet value. Takes the fun away!
My heart did skip a beat, but .. I played it cool ! Hehe😉 It was in between filming , when I spotted it ! The Charity shops are taking the fun out of it for you over your way ! Bad, bad shop owners !! LoL ! 🤗
@marks6908 Thanks, Mark ! I'm opening up a big box of records on Tuesday that Mad 4 Vinyl ( Mark ) sent me as a gift ! I didn't peek, and I can't wait to see ! ✌️
Really ! Good to know.. I guess I should just grab the clean " Living In Stereo" records, and if I don't like some.. re donate ! I'm listening now to.. Lisbon At Twilight 🐯
It's always great to see one of us "bargain finders" at work. You know the drill, you gotta look through a lot of junk to find those treasures! You are definitely one of the best. Maybe we should get some of us bargain seekers together to do a combined video of some of our thrift store excursions. Holy cow! Great find with The United States of America, hope it's in good shape. I agree with picking up the Windham Hill releases when they are in great shape. The samplers are always great, I think I have all but one of them. Chiaroscuro (Mike Marshall and Daryl Anger) and is a great album so is the Mark Isham album. Nice 12" from Prince. I found a bunch of Eurythmics 12" singles at one of my local thrift stores a week ago (which I will hopefully show soon). That Ella album is in sweet condition, looks like new! Great looking copy of the Flash debut too! Great finds!
Chiaroscuro, unfortunately, I passed up ! ( Im gonna listen ) I was in such a hurry with the store closing . I would prefer to film if I was ever in Edmonton or if one of you guys were here in Reno ! Podcasts aren't my thing, although I do watch some of them.
Thanks for mentioning the ones you and me like ! The USOA is in G to VG shape but plays nicely all the way through without any skips ! I did pick up most of the Windham and other new age titles !
Mike.. do me a favor.. I typed out a big message about a podcast.. and Chiaroscuro ! It's the very top message on this video.. It's meant for you, somehow I sent it to me on this vid.
The message to you above is to say.. We could do one.. The 3 of us, Mark, you and me ! Chiaroscuro is amazing and beautiful ! I might buy it on Discogs... 9.00 dollars !
Absolutely ! Man.. I need that Timmy Thomas single.. I'll take the full length, when I track it down. Sade is definitely a smooth operator, I have a bunch of her amazing music ! 😊
Thanks for that, Greg.. I'm still learning about old timey labels, and all kinds of stuff ! Bill liked his gifts.. 3 Bill Gaither's on Heart Warming, and a few other records.. he is into Cd's, that's where I'm lucky !
All three of these are amazing finds.. The Wayne Shorter was a real suprise.. superb album, and good for you to mention Jody Watley, very versatile, and a big solid sound !
@@jtsrecordroom3963 I need to check out that Wayne Shorter album. I have the Hayes on wax and the single for Real Love. Friends was also a great single with Eric B and Rakim guest appearance on it.
Hehe.. That's right ! LoL !! I'm into 70's and 80's Soul/ Funk lately.. Well, Always, actually. I picked up a Yarborough & Peoples "The Two Of Us" .. Don't Stop The Music is contagious !! Haha.. They grew up together as kids in Texas, and later married, such a nice story and background for this couple ! ✌ Thanks so much.
I have that same pressing of Smiley Smile, cool album. Never seen that Hillmen LP, sounds interesting.I've seen that Flash album a lot over the years, but never listened to it. Do they sound similar to Yes? USA is a great album! Nice thrift finds Jt, looking forward to your next trip to Bill's Garage! Take care.
I had never listened to Flash before, either ! And.. No , they don't sound like Yes.. Very proggy, and good, though. USOA at a thrift store was shocking, in a good way, for sure ! Well, then.. See you at Bill's ! Thank you, Michael.
The one with Andre Previn ? I should have, I like both of those artists ! I checked it out, actually, not good enough to take home.. Appreciate you noticing, it helps, especially when I'm not aware if something is good ! Cheers..👍
I did !!! 👍 The old two-eye Columbia vinyl plays real good for its G to VG condition. No skips. plays through. nicely.. I couldn't believe it when I saw it ! Thanks, Richard..✌️
Smiley Smile makes me…Smile. Nice Prince 👍 Groove-athon has the best cover. That United States is brilliant. It’s like Stereolab before Stereolab. Onya Jt 🤘
Very true.. Guys in the back take some home.. The good stuff, and Goodwill is notorious for selling the best vinyl online. Here in my town .. I do well, because.. I got to know all of them, mostly ! I have been scoring good thrift records for 20 years here in Northern Nevada. Thanks for watching..
No sales tax or No sales tax on clothing? Chris Hilman sounds familiar , so that's the band the Byrds he was in, nice prince let's go crazy , nice Ella Fitsgerald album , nice Jody Watley , interesting Isac Hayes , same with FM very cool outfits from the 4th LP , united states of america. how does an album take 5 years the recordings were done in 1964 but it was released in 1969 don't get it? 2. how much is that Let's go Crazy worth NO I'M not taking the time to look it up I have a pool open for the next couple of days then there are things to do since your always looking up the value of the Records you can tell me besides what somebody is willing to pay for it is what it's worth. say in low grade condition a 1 or a 1.5 mid grade that would be excellent a 5 and in close to perfect Near Mint an 8 what's the 12 inch worth? 3. 89 cents for a record in today's money is it because it's a 1 or a 1.5 star album or because the album is scratched? tax on items is more than 89 cents this I don't understand? 4. how come I never heard Timmy Thomas you wrote down 80's funk/soul and Disco , I heard of Lipps inc , Michael Jackson, Rytham Heritage, Peaches and Herb but I never heard of Timmy Thomas? 5. what's your favorite album from 1989 list as many as you have time for? 6. which year do you like better 1988 or 1989?
Fortune favours the brave - good thing you waited for those crates congrats 🎉
Yeah.. I had to wait ! I looked at all of the ball caps. T Shirts, movies, Cd's.. Then it was.. Showtime ! Hehe😅 Thanks, Dean.
Love the Flash record great find JT. + Wayne Shorter 😊 Thanks for taking us along. Greg
Both are soo good, I have been spinning both, lately.. Wayne Shorter was .89 cents in Carson City, actually ! 😊
Some great pick ups! Hope you enjoy spinning Smiley Smile! Lots of great Windham Hill titles. 👍👍
Jeff.. Thank you again, I love it ! I'll never forget when you and JC were on that live stream, and he tried to wrangle my " Stack O Tracks" from me in trade, or.. whatever ! LoL !!
Didn't Ben Mink play violin for FM?? He also jammed with Rush on Signals, correct??
I stand corrected! Mink replaced Nash the Slash!!! LOL
Tune is called Losing It!!!@@jtsrecordroom3963
Ben Mink went on to collaborate on k.d. Lang’s records.
@danny1959 Interesting bit of info, I am learning more about FM KD Lang.. which is a terrific gig for any musician ! Cheers.🫡
I found a collection of Deep Purple albums at a thrift store years ago. I still have them.
Wow !
Great finds bro! United States ❤💯🎸
LoL ! 🤗
Thanks again.. I like chatting with you ! And thanks for the support, it helps motivate me.
No worries JT, we love your channel. My partner even tunes in and she is not a music fan. Keep up the good work!
@marks6908 Thanks, Mark ! I'm opening up a big box of records on Tuesday that Mad 4 Vinyl ( Mark ) sent me as a gift ! I didn't peek, and I can't wait to see ! ✌️
It's always a quagmire when you hit the motherlode in these stores and they are closing in 5 minutes. Please bring your purchases to the front. Lol.
Exactly !! It happens a lot to me.. but, I'll take it !! I can do a power dig any day, anytime ! LoL !! Bring 'em on people !!!

You make crate digging look easy😉
Thanks, Jason.. Sometimes it is. The big deal is that I thoroughly enjoy the search and finding good records ! 🤚
@@jtsrecordroom3963 To tell the truth, I'm not even sure what I'd need to do a podcast anyway lol
Mike.. do me a favor..

Verrry Interesting ! Are you as well ? I would think. possibly so.🐼
@@jtsrecordroom3963 Correct. 🎩
Hmmm.. 🤗
Wally Badarou played with Talking Heads.
Too cool ! So prolific.. Check out "Echoes" !!
We would have had a wrestling match over that Issac Hayes lp!
Tell me about it !! Luckily, no one was standing around me ! It is terrific, really !! 😊
Sade does a great cover of that Timmy Thomas track too.
Absolutely ! Man.. I need that Timmy Thomas single.. I'll take the full length, when I track it down. Sade is definitely a smooth operator, I have a bunch of her amazing music ! 😊
I'll have to peek and see which album her cover of it is on.. Thanks !
Diamond Life ! Wow.. I forgot it is on there.. spinning that cool track, now ! Thanks..
Oak Ridge Boys were on Heart Warming label early on
Thanks for that, Greg.. I'm still learning about old timey labels, and all kinds of stuff ! Bill liked his gifts.. 3 Bill Gaither's on Heart Warming, and a few other records.. he is into Cd's, that's where I'm lucky !
Nice Jody Watley score! For a buck. Great album and killer single with Real Love. Nice Wayne Shorter and Hayes too!
Minty fresh!!!😂😂
I'm not quite sure what's going on on that Flash lp cover. lol. But I think I understand the title.
Right !! LoL ! If you like prog, like I do.. Listen to this one.. Loud ! ✌
Would have grabbed that David rose if in good shape
The one with Andre Previn ? I should have, I like both of those artists ! I checked it out, actually, not good enough to take home.. Appreciate you noticing, it helps, especially when I'm not aware if something is good ! Cheers..👍
You found a United States of America in a thrift!! Unbelievable!
Onya Jt 🤘
That is an accurate analogy.. I like it ! Quite like Stereolab ! Good to have you back in action, Ben.. See you on yours !
@@jtsrecordroom3963 It's good to be feeling a bit more human again Jt.
@benrankins4446 Covid is a very rough ride. Thankfully, you are on the mend !
Most thrift stores are now corrupt... they take the good vinyl.
Very true.. Guys in the back take some home.. The good stuff, and Goodwill is notorious for selling the best vinyl online. Here in my town .. I do well, because.. I got to know all of them, mostly ! I have been scoring good thrift records for 20 years here in Northern Nevada. Thanks for watching..
fresh thrift store? what the heck
This haul was all NM one dollar vinyl and jackets, that's what I mean... The records, not the grungy thrift store !
2. how much is that Let's go Crazy worth NO I'M not taking the time to look it up I have a pool open for the next couple of days then there are things to do since your always looking up the value of the Records you can tell me besides what somebody is willing to pay for it is what it's worth. say in
low grade condition a 1 or a 1.5 mid grade that would be excellent a 5 and in close to perfect Near Mint an 8 what's the 12 inch worth?
3. 89 cents for a record in today's money is it because it's a 1 or a 1.5 star album or because the album is scratched? tax on items is more than 89 cents this I don't understand?
4. how come I never heard Timmy Thomas you wrote down 80's funk/soul and Disco , I heard of Lipps inc , Michael Jackson, Rytham Heritage, Peaches and Herb but I never heard of Timmy Thomas?
5. what's your favorite album from 1989 list as many as you have time for?
6. which year do you like better 1988 or 1989?
That's correct. The Hillmen recordings were from 1964.. and they put out an album in 1969.. after the fame of The Byrds and Chris Hillman.
No sales tax throughout the store.
Let's Go Crazy " is worth what I stated in the video..20-30 Dollars ( Discogs ).
.89 cents because I get a discount from 1 dollar. That's the price of all the records, not based on condition.
Timmy Thomas is terrific. We can't hear everything.. Lots to be discovered.
