Great new track. Killer production, great message and bringing your recorded music into the 21st century. I can’t wait to hear you guys play this live. Killer! 💪🏼
This is a great song. I love the fact that this group likes to defersify it's sound. They really are an interesting mix of classic rock/soul with indie funk.
I love the message and the lyrics are so powerful, capture so much of the collective feeling right now and emphasize the importance of our individual lives.
I really wish you guys wouldn't bring politics into your music. Especially in a video that shows one-sided propaganda as if it's the gospel. I love the song and the message is a great one but, instead of being a catalyst for healing and unity, it's rendered divisive and disingenuous by the editing in the video. I'm certain you guys weren't victimized by a politically motivated producer. These are your views. I know because I've talked to you guys personally online and at shows and you've shown your views as left-leaning. Well-intentioned? Probably so but, as for Rick Barrio-Dill (fantastic bassist! Love his style of playing and his stage presence), he has been openly hostile with me on the subject of politics on many occasions and I've unfriended him on FB over some of the nasty things he's said to me. I know that you guys are trying to help bring the world to a better place through your platform and music but, there are good people on both sides of the aisle who love your music and that's unifying and healing in and of itself. Taking up specific political positions alienates some of us. We don't need the lectures from our entertainers. We need them to do what they do best. Entertain. Your music is positive and uplifting enough without trying to attach it to a specific cause. The peace and love thing is hard to hear from someone who's been hateful directly to you. Rick B-D.
@patriotpizzaman rbd here. I dont usually reply to youtube but wanted to reach out. I appreciate your comment and If I offended you on my personal page, it wasnt my intention. I dont throw arrows unless i feel someone has done so at me. I dont know what specific exchange you are referring to, and in no way is it necessary to revisit, i just wanted to put that out. If I was being respected, i really do come from a place of giving the same in return. I will add that that the visual images are one thing here, but the lyrics juxtaposed over them become a new message and from my vantage, the very point of what you appear to be asking for. So perhaps keep that in mind as a new interpretation. That said, respect.
@@elainet1009 Yes, agreed. Music has been political and expressed opinions since the dawn of music. You could argue that it was even the purpose of music, to subversively express an opinion under the guise of entertainment. Modern music doesn't need to hide an opinion because everyone has the right to that voice.
I'm with 'ya on this, heard this band by chance on spotify, really started diggin' their music.i actually like this song, but started listening to the rap outro, dissing the president and let's vote for Michelle Obama? Please! Had to roll my eyes & go,guys please don't go down this road....does it change the fact that these guys are awesomely talented? No! But makes it hard 4 me to listen to this song, kinda ruins it 4 me...freedom of speech and all but,js

Musicians have always been political. Music isn't a superficial thing, and I like to know the politics of the musicians I love.
