I saw Wishbone Ash perform live at Leeds University around 1973, when they came on stage, Laurie was introduced as their new band member. From memory, I'm pretty sure that was his first live appearance with the band...needless to say it was a great night
@ 1:35 His 'ole 1954 Fender Strat is a beauty! Saw Laurie Wisefield with Wishbone Ash (my favorite era) back in the mid '70s, at Winterland in San Francisco a couple of times. Such a great tasty melodic guitarist and humble musician. Cheers.
Fascinating to see and hear Laurie in an interview and playing a bit after all these years . I enjoyed his playing and contribution to Wishbone Ash very much .
It should be noted that before joining Wishbone Ash in 1974, Laurie Wisefield was the guitarist for the fantastic band Home with their concept album The Alchemist for example (released in 1973 by CBS Records).
Great to see Laurie here- I saw WISHBONE ASH once with Laurie- November 1974, There's the Rub, with Caravan as opener Tower, Upper Darby, pa( Philadelphia ). Looks like the same 54 Strat he had! Trevor, glad I found this today!
Laurie, Scott Lohr here. I emailed you through your personal website some 10 years ago? asking you both about your name (Laurie in England, Larry in USA) and FUBB from There's the Rub. You explained to me what my fellow friend and guitarist, Keith both debated over, and sure enough we were correct about: that it was the abbreviation for Fucked up beyond belief. I couldn't believe it. Talk about LOL!!! You're return email was nothing short of fun and hilarious. You treated me like some long lost friend and it only served to quadruple my appreciation for you as one of my all time favorite guitarists, but also a truly down to earth gent, and I'll always be grateful for that. So...thanks again, Laurie and I'm glad we're both still breaking guitar strings! A lifelong friend, Scotty Lohr
Both bolder and Wisefields talent blended together bringing out such great sound together. Both have great respect for each other. Thats what made them so great. Class 76 I listen to there music all the time. Breast feed with this music.
Trevor - as all other Spiders From Mars - was from my hometown of Kingston Upon Hull (Ok maybe Woody Woodmansey was from nearby Beverley). Trevor Bolder had a great CV. David Bowie's band, Uriah Heep, Wishbone Ash. Terrific bass player. And Laurie Wisefield, great guitarist with Wishbone Ash in their 70s heyday. Good to see Laurie here reminiscing and playing superbly. And great too to hear some quality stuff from Trevor Bolder's album. PS In Gipsyville (area of Hull) back in the 60s-70s there was a little record shop called the Bolder Record Bar. I might be wrong but I always thought that record shop had some connection with the Bolder family. I hope so anyway. RIP Trevor, Hull legend
Nice to hear Laurie's comments about Trevor, someone i first saw when the Rats played Hull Grammar school xmas dance and then several times as a Spider..but never in his Ash incarnation, then by accident much later on in Willerby. Great wear and tear marks on Laurie's Strat; much used!

He was the best in Uriah Heep!
Hi folks, I have been waiting on this release, does anyone know when it will or if its out yet?
He was very handsome guy. True class, and amazing guitarist. Excellent replacement for Ted Turner. I could not imagine better than him.
The smiley ash member.
