- There are a ton of aftermarket options for an F-4's J79 exhausts. But which one is the best for the Zoukei-Mura kit?
I've tested a whole bunch of them - ResKit, Aires, GT Resin, Eduard, Mk.I. See which one prevailed.
You love your phantoms. Good man.
Saving me a ton of money, thanks for doing this.
I went through the exact same search last year and bought all three, Reskit, Brassin, and Aires and came to the same conclusion that Eduard's Brassin is the way to go. With Reskit and Aires, I cloned the stock engine with epoxy resin and then just cut off right before the turbine section, then sanded off that ridge just before the nozzle leaves to make them fit. This way, I get a couple J79 engines outside of the aircraft for display.
This is a great source vid. Cool.
they let shit like that pass and send them off? never seen resin that bad before.
I am a bit disapointed on Reskit engine nozzles. Tamiya 1/32 F-4 nozzles looked nice but very poor fit, the cylinder is way too thick. Another set i used was for kitty hawk 1/32 F-5 and another poor fit. Now im working on Tamiya F-14A and I really can't be bothered with dealing with thse anymore, no more fucks left with these and it looks like im just gonna use the kit nozzles. I also have Reskit sets for Meng F/A-18 super hornet and kinetic F/A-18 legacy hornet that i didnt touch yet but I already have a bad feeeling about this.
Thank you for doing that 1/32 F-4. I bought the same kit and the Reskit nozzles. They’re still on my shelf. Will probably get to it later this year.
Why throw the GT resin exhausts away? I’d send those suckers back and get my money.
Thank you for your search on ZM's F-4G exhausts
Regarding the Eduard/Brassin exhausts, I would like to ask you what their code is, because I couldn't find anything related to the ZM's kit on their site
EDU648314 - they're marked as for the ZKM F-4J, but work with the F-4S, F-4E, F-4EJ and F-4G as well.
@@DoogsModels thank you very much!!
You mentioned the kit part having a sprue attachment point on the inside of the nozzle. Is this a case of an attachment point that wraps around the part? Lately I've had newer kits where you nip the part off the Sprue and have to turn the part 90 degrees to remove the rest of the attachment point. Really effing annoying.
Not in this case. There's literally an X-shaped sprue inside of the nozzle.
WoW 😜
Why another over price/rated zucchini F FO?🙄
Jman
Mate, its been a long time since the last video.
Hope you are ok.
2023 landed on me like a ton of bricks is all. Been playing "is it burnout or is it depression?" while dealing with a lot of work craziness.
@@DoogsModels I'm happy to have a response.
I was dealing with dipression myself.
I'm better now though.
Had a bad feeling about your long absence.
Please take good care of yourself.
@3:15 GT resin WTF!?!
I feel compelled to add ... GT Resin is without a doubt .. the WORST .. they're whole line.. not just this. QC do not exist and the guy who makes them ... just don't buy them
Okay how much does that crap cost what a waste
