In my family it is common to make this joke NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE when someone sees a crooked picture! My inner Adrian Monk is well suppressed in the foresight of what happened to Loriot😂
As a German I knew these sketches, of course. But watching your reaction on those sketches just kills me. BTW: I think comedy is the best way to learn foreign languages.
Watching, listening, reading Loriot since i been a toddler..and still laughing every time, he is portraying german behaviour on point..these two? My parents, as they're getting older, 1:1 !!!!!!! Love from Hamburg, Germany (keep them reviews coming)♡
Brother D, this was a riot, this reminded me of a time I cooked my late husband some eggs and he gave me a lecture about how they were not right lol. I need to watch more of these! Thanks for this reaction D!!!
In Mitchell and Webb's brilliant corner shop sketch, there's this line "Is it really? How fascinating!" I keep thinking how, in a german translation of this sketch, Mitchell would've simply said "Ach!", because that's exactly what it means.
You mean "Weihnachten bei Hoppenstedts - Das Weihnachtsgedicht" - literally translated "Christmas with the Hoppenstedt Family - The Christmas Poem". This is an awesome Cartoon (thats what Loriot named these sketches) from Loriot but i dont know if there's a version with correct subtitles, since this would be pretty hard to translate without loosing the funny bits and pieces.
Ich glaube der Sketch verliert eine Menge, wenn man kein Deutsch versteht, weil auch die Aussprache und die Betonung den Dialog wunderschön untermalen.
Vico von Bülow (Loriot) was one of the best german comedian and I think you should see him in his live performances. Because his drawings are also good too. Thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from hamburg (germany)
Loriot, a.k.a. Vico von Bülow, has also acted in skits for TV and movies he wrote himself. "Papa Ante Portas" is a good one, where he plays a character who recently retired from his job.
These cartoons and some acted jokes are known by nearly everyone. They are part of German culture. Especially the bathtub cartoon, Kosackenzipfel, noodle in the face.. etc
Hi D, JFYI: i am a former german GE (Healthcare) employe. We had a very valuabe Company Training themed "how to do proper and efficiend conflict handling" just based on a deep psycological and retoric Analyse related on this specific brilliant comic strip But there is much more in each of his artwork pices than U might imagine. I hope U have the courosity to find out and explore the even much more deeper details of euch of hia TV scatches and movies.... Vicco von Bülow aka Loiiot was a real cosmopolitan Genius ...
Very fine you watched that too! Details: The suspenders, the sleeve-holders, the eldery-womens haircut, the conservative warm-keeper for the coffee, the music as well... Speaking of music. Mr.Big Colorado Bulldog covered by Yoyoka is really worth listening (or her 'forty six and two' of tool).
Mate, these "classics" where made in the 70's. Watching my parents these days (both in their 80's) it's like Loriot had a chrystal bowl then how they do now. Listening to my parents is actually a comedy!
ruclips.net/video/Dhj1xhv3rZI/видео.htmlsi=qvEW4YbGg9LVVESp Loriot- the crooked picture. Here's another one. Also there you can see Loriot himself in action. With love from Germany 🤘🏻 ❤
The translation got one word wrong, missing the point: "Es ist dir also egal, ob ich viereinhalb Minuten in der Küche schufte" was translated to "so you don't care whether I work for and a half minutes in the kitchen" but "schuften" is "to toil" in English, hence, it would be so you don't care whether I *toil* for and a half minutes in the kitchen" 😅
When ever you show LORIOT films or catoons, you must have every time one eye to the little details. All this catoons are like old Disney catoons with thousend of draw picutres by hand. Every little move are 20 to 50 picture. There was no kind of amimation possible. Young people don´t now this.
And here's another example of German comedy. This time something scary, or rather funny? "Forklift driver Klaus" ruclips.net/video/ChOHnSL7ZCg/видео.html
BTW the German TV show "extra 3" had some very funny episodes, mostly about bureaucrats doing stupid things. Ryan Wass has some Videos of those episodes with English subtitles. Some recommendations are the Sögel transport mishap (search "extra 3 Sögel") and the now world- famous railway station of Bad Bentheim ( even the international press made fun of that😊). The Sögel episode is one illustrating German Schadenfreude at its best 😅 One more is the song about the Deutsche Bahn by a group named The Wise Guys. And there ist Torsten Sträter with his appearances as vice replacement spokesman of several different organisations, among others Deutsche Bahn, of course - quite hilarious videos, but they need translation. apropos railways: the video "the trouble with our trains", a report by the BBC about the problems with railways in Britain, presented in humorous way, in parts is quite hilarious as well, for instance, "the seven twentynine, the train that never runs on time", "we don't have a train" about lack of trains in some parts of Britain, and an odd thing named "Pacer", in the film they call it a " Frankenstein train". My biggest laugh is "when you finally find a successful private company, you find out it's owned by the state ... the German state" about the only private railway company in Britain that has built in new railway line in a long time😅 have fun!
"Das Bild hängt schief"
👍😃👍
The best ever.........
🤣🤣🤣🤣
der englische fortsetzungskrimi.....
In my family it is common to make this joke NO MATTER WHERE WE ARE when someone sees a crooked picture!
My inner Adrian Monk is well suppressed in the foresight of what happened to Loriot😂
The noodle and two guys in the tub are also great. Loriot was truly special.
The noodle is too cringe
The noodle 😂😂😂
As a German I knew these sketches, of course. But watching your reaction on those sketches just kills me.
BTW: I think comedy is the best way to learn foreign languages.
From the day we saw it, my family kept citing "a housewife can feel it!" ("eine Hausfrau hat das im Gefühl")
Loriot,"" the noodle "", the best Komedie😉👍
Loriots knew the people ! A true Genius - the Best !
Yes, he wa a true Genius in observing the ordinary.
Perfect choice to introduce classic german humor ... Loriot nails it in a perfect way, hilarious and priceless!
Klassiche Loriot Sketchs.Alle genial.
Classic Loriot Sketches. All brilliant.🤣❤
Watching, listening, reading Loriot since i been a toddler..and still laughing every time, he is portraying german behaviour on point..these two? My parents, as they're getting older, 1:1 !!!!!!! Love from Hamburg, Germany (keep them reviews coming)♡
My favorite Loriot sketch is: „Ich will nur hier sitzen“- „I just want to sit here“- hilarious! 🤣
Brother D, this was a riot, this reminded me of a time I cooked my late husband some eggs and he gave me a lecture about how they were not right lol. I need to watch more of these! Thanks for this reaction D!!!

I keep thinking how, in a german translation of this sketch, Mitchell would've simply said "Ach!", because that's exactly what it means.
"Du willst es doch immer viereinhalb Minuten haben."
There is a very good Christmas time poem by Loriot which starts in a kind of romantic mood and then turns really morbid. You should watch that too.
Ach jaaa! So schön
You mean "Weihnachten bei Hoppenstedts - Das Weihnachtsgedicht" - literally translated "Christmas with the Hoppenstedt Family - The Christmas Poem".

@@RSOFT92 Yes, that’s what I meant. But you are correct, translation will be hard.
Zicke Zacke hühnerkacke
This or that chicken shit
Loriot was one of the best philosopher and comedian of the World. He was a Genius... 😊
Very funny Reaction...." Broken TV" is also good...
You missed "Weihnachten bei den Hoppenstedts" (Christmas).
does it have english cc?
Loriot voices both characters. :)
ahhh good to know lol
also watch at other and real life loriot sketches, his humor and timing were terrific - RIP loriot german greetings
You must see Herren im Bad ("Gentlemen in the bathroom"), one of his best cartoons, it's so funny
HERR DR. KLÖBNER !!!!
Oh wow, i did not even remember this one! I am getting old... 😅
Loriot was onw of the best in comedy in Germany. You should watch them all if possible
Ich glaube der Sketch verliert eine Menge, wenn man kein Deutsch versteht, weil auch die Aussprache und die Betonung den Dialog wunderschön untermalen.
Ja das denke ich auch! Dieser süffisante Unterton fehlt dann einfach
Your wife is always right, poor Herrmann. In the USA too !!! 😂😂😂
Vico von Bülow (Loriot) was one of the best german comedian and I think you should see him in his live performances. Because his drawings are also good too. Thanks for sharing and best wishes @all from hamburg (germany)
You have got a new subscriber ....love your reactions to the Loriot Scetches..
You got to see "Das Bild ist schief" (the picture is uneven)
Loriot (Vico von Bülow) , the best !!!
Important part of german Culture.
🇩🇪🍻🥨
Loriot, a.k.a. Vico von Bülow, has also acted in skits for TV and movies he wrote himself. "Papa Ante Portas" is a good one, where he plays a character who recently retired from his job.
And a street violinist who tries to kick someone in the buttocks and loses balance
He can't cook an egg himself.
That's the hilarious part!!!
Loriot was a genius! 💖
You choose one of my absolute favourite comidian.
Love it to see you loving Loriot like I do. Watch the "Heppenstetts" or the "Klavier"
😆 so .. did your wife like the first video ? (of the married couple)
Somehow this man makes me think of Flake! 😁🙃
You have to see the "Talking dog" from Loriot Hilarious
These cartoons and some acted jokes are known by nearly everyone. They are part of German culture. Especially the bathtub cartoon, Kosackenzipfel, noodle in the face.. etc

Vicco von Bülow aka Loiiot was a real cosmopolitan Genius ...
Very funny! (You, too)! 😂
His genius is on psychology: The man is on the fact, so the wife moves to the emotional level.
He's walking on very thin ice on a daily basis!
'Two men in a bath'
Very fine you watched that too!
Details: The suspenders, the sleeve-holders, the eldery-womens haircut, the conservative warm-keeper for the coffee, the music as well...
Speaking of music. Mr.Big Colorado Bulldog covered by Yoyoka is really worth listening (or her 'forty six and two' of tool).

Loriot is good in any language.
They changed the " i kill her, tomorrow i kill, her" Line because in the other Sketch it would have been too true, too true.
You pronounce the German R in Loriot really well. Don't hear that very often from Americans
I speak a little french and that helps the rolling R's
😂😂its perfekt 😂😂
Now "Die Nudel" ist missing.

Loriot- the crooked picture.
Here's another one. Also there you can see Loriot himself in action.
With love from Germany 🤘🏻 ❤
🇩🇪
Try to get "Pappa ante Portas" (1991) with english cc. It's a great movie by Loriot.
If I had to teach german language to english kids at school, I would start the lesson with a Loriot and end with a Loriot.
For some sketches of Loriot you don't need subs, "Das Bild hängt schief" is one of them.
The translation got one word wrong, missing the point:
"Es ist dir also egal, ob ich viereinhalb Minuten in der Küche schufte"
was translated to "so you don't care whether I work for and a half minutes in the kitchen"
but "schuften" is "to toil" in English, hence, it would be

😂👍
To Bad you cant understand the Lotto gewinn from Loriot 😁😁😁😁
In my opinion the subtitles are not precise. I'd change the "accidently" to "by random". Makes more sense.
"I only want to sit here." is better.😎😎🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Watch the two men in the bath tub and then you will instantly be reminded by Electric callboy!
😎😎😉😉😂😂

facts
Loriot served as an lt. In the german army during WWII. His superiors disliked his funny character.
Victor von Bülow aka Loriot.
watch böhmermann "be deutsch"...
Böhmermann is a Demagoge.
"Volksverhetzung" is a legal crima.
un oeuf a la coque! NOT a la cuff.
Relatable, huh? 😂
