I’m 32 and have super oily skin, so if it doesn’t work on you, it sure as heck won’t work on me. 😂 thanks for all your honest reviews. You’re definitely someone who’s opinion I trust.
Thanks for sharing!! :D
Your videos are always helpful. In her last live chat, Jen Luvs spoke about how sometimes “negative” reviews from a content creator can be “positive” for some viewers because we all have different preferences and skin types. So, when I watch this I think the ones that sucked for your skin would be the best options for me! I have very dry skin and live in Vermont, and I like a glowy, dewy finish. :). You always explain why something didn’t work for you, not just saying, “This is trash, don’t buy it.” But you aren’t afraid to say when you think something it is an all around bad product, that doesn’t perform as the brand says it will. You’re a wonderful person to watch. Thank you!
Awh thank you! ❤️
I saw that same live chat & thought the same thing…btw Jen rocks too…if u like Angie & her honesty & the way she explains things you’ll probably like Jen too.
I love that the highest ranked ones are also the most affordable! 💜
Definitely! :D
Ikr! I noticed that too!
The Haus Labs foundation is definitely more suited for people with dry skin. It turned into a greasy mess on my normal to combo skin, so I gave it to my bestie who has dry skin. It’s her holy grail perfect foundation now and looks great on her. I love other Haus Labs products, but that one just isn’t for everybody.
Thanks for sharing, its the same for me :)
Agreed! I have oily skin, tried a little just on my hand in Sephora, and thought, "Nope!" Waaaaay too oily just coming out of the bottle. I suspect it would be fantastic for those with truly dry skin.
And as it turned out with me, it's not even that well suited for some with dry skin! I was so sad too, bc I really wanted to love it. My husband could instantly tell I had it on, and not in a flattering way. He (very nicely 😂) admitted that it made me look older than 37, versus when he always tells me my skin looks a lot younger than 37 😬 I couldn't return it fast enough to Sephora!!
@@ashleycox5316 your husband is the man🙌 a keeper for sure 😉
I don't wear foundation & I'm still here. I think that speaks volumes. Lol! Good morning!
Thank you for being such a trustworthy reviewer! Even though our skin types are different, your descriptions are so thorough that I can really tell if something will work for me or not based on your reviews.
I feel like the true match and the haus labs go on my skin very similar which is kinda funny because they're so different on you. Just shows how different we all really are.
For viewers with straight up normie normal skin like mine (no oil comes off my skin, but it does not get dry either) the Haus Labs is fabulous. It’s very similar to the old liquid foundation from MUFE called Mat Velvet+ (I loved that one!)
Getting your perspective on how foundations perform on your skin is definitely helpful. I am 42 with dry skin, so I know I will get along best with the ones that make you look oily. Especially in the winter. In the summer, my skin is more normal, and I have to switch to a natural finish foundation, rather than dewy or radiant.
I really appreciate how SPECIFIC you are in your critiques-both positive AND negative.
I’ve tried everyone of these that Juvias place has blown me away I love it ! The L’Oréal is nice just as described but lacks coverage the Juvias place has a lot of coverage but some how looks like SKINNNN
Love that the drugstore beat high end this round ❤️
Hi, Angie! I love the Juvia’s place foundation on you. It seems like it’s been a few days. I hope you had a great weekend. We, unfortunately, had to put down our sweet cat, Squeaks, on Saturday, so our hearts are broken. She was mine for 12 years, and she was my mom’s before my mom passed away. It’s amazing how much we grow to love them! ❤
I'm in my 50's and have oily combo skin. I would like to try your #1 choice. Love the earrings! Enjoyed seeing you on the cruise with Samantha, Heather and Ashley. You always look so pretty! :)
This is why I’m so grateful for RUclips review videos. Hearing your thorough reflections on what worked for you and what didn’t helps me save my money by not purchasing foundations that won’t work for me! I appreciate you & this video! I love foundation and am always interested in these types of reviews! Keep ‘em coming! ❤M
Same here! You don’t get to hear thoughtful insights on products in short videos and that’s why I will always love these long form makeup videos😊
I agree with what you said about the Juvias Place foundation! It’s definitely more full coverage and not radiant on me either.
The Loreal is the BEST foundation I’ve tried in a long time (and I’ve tried a lot! Lol) I just did a declutter and I probably still have over 30 😮 sigh. I love the consistency, how it’s ‘one with the skin,’ how it feels throughout the day/and holds up so well, the color range is great (I got a perfect match on line). Speaking of that, I ordered the new revlon foundation the same day. Used the same guidelines, yet that foundation is about 2 shades to light for me. Anyway, I agree with Angie and I really feel a lot of people will be able to wear Loreal and will love it. I also love their True Match Tinted Serum, AND their Infalliable Freshwear foundation. All 3 of those are fantastic & definitely in my top 5 foundations.
Your location definitely matters I’m fromNY and dewy foundations look really good on my oily combo skin most of the year but when I went to Florida, even matte foundations were greasy on me it was awful
I don’t test that many foundations out anymore but the newest ones I’ve gotten were the Juvias place ones. The powder I hated and it oxidized orange and I had the light 3 shade BUT I loved their radiance liquid foundation. Powder foundations aren’t for me and I put that at an end.
I can’t even remember what came out in 2022 that I purchased. The nars light reflecting was amazing but was exactly like their natural radiant longwear! ❤️
That Juvias Place foundation sounds like a dream 😍
Haha!!! The Haus Labs is my ultimate favorite!! Same age as you Angie, but dry dehydrated skin. I CAN'T STOP looking at my Complexion when I wear it! It's like a Luminous Satin finish on me!! But that is what makes make-up so fun and interesting!!!
Loving this eye look, first off!!
I don't know why some people get their nickers in a twist over makeup? Like Angie says, it's supposed to be fun! What works for you, may not work for me and that's ok. I love that you do ranking like this! I really want to try the juvias place foundation!! Have a great week beautiful!! 💕
Thought I'd contribute my thoughts as I watch! I'm about to turn 37 and I have normal to dry skin (dry in the Canadian winter!).
The Haus labs foundation actually looks beautiful on me. Definitely glowy, and I find it applies best if I rub it in with my fingers - which I usually hate but it totally changes the finish for me with this one.
I'd love to try the Makeup by Mario one... I'm so curious. I loved that Becca skin tint.
The DM blur balm surprised me so much! I have the translucent and the lightest shade. I enjoy wearing it as a primer and by itself, but I agree that it doesn't play nicely with all other products.
I haven't tried the Nyx one, and I haven't tried the juvias place one.
Thanks for the reviews Angie!!
I love seeing how foundations work on others or dont. Yeah the Haus foundation on me- with normal skin and light oily t-zone area works like a really satin finish and if I top it with the kosas powder it turns to matte even on my t-zone. But I also imagine that the NYX Blur would probably not look fantastic on me... unless very sheered out. How interesting how skin can turn different formulas into totally different looking foundations on different people.
Your perspective is definitely helpful! You have used so many different foundations. I believe you know what you’re talking about!
I'm selfishly glad your skin is oilier in Texas. 😅My skin is very similar to yours; not 20 anymore, combo, same undertone and your summer foundation colors are my winter foundation colors. I can usually figure out my shade without going into the store based on the shades that match you, so if you're more likely to wear the foundations that work with combo skin that is really helpful to me. I moved away from Texas a few years ago to a dryer climate, but I go there often for work, so knowing the range of foundations that worked for you when your skin was dryer and which ones work now that its oilier is helpful to pick which one I should bring on those trips. All this is very specific, but your perspective on foundations is pretty valuable for me.
😂❤️
You describe the Haus Labs foundation the way I describe the MBM foundation 👎🥴!! The MBM was just so greasy, heavy , sat on my skin, and never absorbed 🤷♀️. I went to Sephora and exchanged it for the new Hourglass Foundation, and I absolutely LOVE IT 😊 👍!!!
Very Swedish barbie-esque look today and I'm here for it 🙌 😍
You are spot on with these reviews . I love your honesty and thorough reporting on these . I can get the haus labs to work on my skin but otherwise your reviews are absolutely correct , as far as my skin .
LOVED your eye look today, gorgeous! 🤩
Thank you for this video! I've been trying to find a new foundation to add to my kit that will last and will be more like a film-forming foundation, and I'm definitely going to try the L'Oreal one. I love the Revlon Colorstay that I currently use, but I don't like how limited the shade range is.
I am definitely going to pick up that L'Oreal! Thanks for the recommendation :)
So pretty, thanks sooooo much!!!
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE this eye look on you! 😍😍😍
I tried the haus labs foundation at sephora and the formula seemed perfect on my very dry skin. If I can ever justify spending the money, I'll consider buying that.
Not an oily girl but I live up n Florida so I need sweat proof makeup 💄 I don’t even bother with foundation as I sweat to much
Yes I love foundation reviews 😍!
I just ordered the true Match foundation today from Amazon. I am looking forward to trying it and crossing my fingers that I licked the right shade.
I haven't even opened my new NYX one.... I see it one the 'suck' side of your thumbnail. Dang it! I got into the original Bare With Me tinted moisturizer because you spoke so highly of it, and it became my holy grail. I'm just finishing up my last backups now, and I have two very deep shades I keep on hand for mixing. Why couldn't they have just expanded the range of that and made it a permanent product?? NYX can be so frustrating!!
Yes a thousand times yes to the L’Oréal!
Thank you for saving me from the Haus labs foundation and the Surreal Skin! I love your insight and descriptions!
I have loved the Mario foundation as well .. thank you for your honest reviews always ❤
Did you see on a group on here about the drama your name was said a bunch of times as a reviewer we can trust for honest reviews❤❤❤
You an a few others are ones I always watch and know I can get the best honest reviews from ❤❤ keep it up Bella ..
I love that we're getting so many great affordable options lately!
I always like trying new complexion products, my current favorite is the Haus Labs but I just ordered the Makeup by Mario one. Hoping that it’s even better than the Haus Labs. I think the biggest takeaway from this video is that your skin is also very unique, there’s no such thing as one size fits all because there are other variables that makes a difference even when you have a pretty good idea of what your skin type is. Also, I think your skin tends to change along with the temperature. I have always known I have dry skin, but in the summer, when I go to the south to see my family, no makeup survives on my face by the end of the day unless I have a gripping primer and setting spray. My Sahara Desert of a skin is capable of producing oil in the summer! Imagine that! But summer in Atlanta where I live is not always as humid as Florida and here, I don’t need to ‘baby’ the foundation as much. I think it comes down to one’s preference, comfort and budget, yes, budget. I used to never buy high end makeup but my 40 y/old skin has forced me to look into better products and I can say that the price tag in most cases, really makes a difference. And people can call Dupes all day, but there is a reason why certain products are more expensive than a drugstore as long as you know what product works for your skin & you’re not just paying for the name. So when someone is Normal/oily, that means that person’s skin also adapts to the weather and humidity based on where she is so what we assume should work beautifully on a normal or combo skin may not be true for her all year or at all. I still like that you try and review foundations regardless of whether you think it’ll work for you or not. Thank you for always taking one for the team Angie!
I bought the Juvia’s place velvet matte foundation in Cebu which is just a hair dark for me but I can make it work. I really like it a lot. I have ordered the dewy (the one you have in the video) and am looking forward to trying it. Both seem to be full coverage which at 65 I prefer. I have dry skin which leans more normal in Texas summers. Thanks for this video!
The Juvias place foundation is also a natural finish on my combo oily skin. I’m really enjoying this one just not easy to pick a shade online from the UK, I have Capri but it’s a bit peachy on my light olive skin, I should have bought your shade Cebu as it looks more neutral yellow which is what my skin is like in winter.
This eye look is giving me life❤ would love a video on how you created it.
I might try the L'Oreal one, I've seen a few really positive reviews of it, and I'm almost out of my go-to foundations
Probably will be picking up Mario or House of labs one 🙈 I’m dry skin lady, looking for some shine in my foundations, and if something is described as CT flawless and not separating it is win on my eyes ❤️😂 Loved good review, it helps even if expectations from products is different ❤️
Even though we have different skin types, I find your reviews very helpful. I appreciate that you describe the foundation itself, not just how it wears on your skin. I was considering the NYX Blur foundation but if it’s a thick mousse, I wouldn’t like it. Bad purchase prevented! Thank you!
It's so nice to hear someone have the same opinion on the Haus Labs foundation as I do. Because honeyyyyy I was an oil slick in less than two hours. It was by far the greasiest looking foundation I've ever tried. It was so bad that I returned the two shades I bought after only using it once. I could just tell that there was no redeeming it or helping the situation at all. I've heard people say "just use it with this primer and this powder or set it exactly like this" . . . No. No, I won't. I've got 40+ foundations that work just fine without having to baby them. It was terrible.
I picked up the True Match foundation and am excited to try it, the bottles look really different in Canada for the re-formulation which threw me off at first. I also picked up the Nyx recently to try for lighter coverage. Love the product updates as always! Hope you're enjoying your cruise!!!
It’s so funny how everything works differently for people. I am the same age with very similar skin and I live in Houston… the Haus Labs works for me, I don’t love it but it works. I do want to try the Juvia’s Place I’m just unsure of the color. 🧐
L’Oréal purchased IT Cosmetics a few years ago, the way you described it makes me think of that foundation, I want to to try the L’Oréal, now that it seems like they moved some of the formulation into their line.
Hello! I have mature oily skin and live in a humid climate. I love the Haus Labs foundation! I use the Yummy Skin blurring balm powder as my primer. Works extremely well to control the oils and keeps the foundation looking amazing.
I agree with you about the Haus Labs foundation. It makes my skin way too shiny - I end up mixing it with a matte foundation to even it out.
Foundations are such a hit or miss for me, my 2 favourites are the Physicians Formula Healthy Skin and the Wet n Wild Tinted Hydrator, I am not even bothering trying new ones. Thank you for your honesty!
Love your foundation reviews. We learn about the good, the bad, the ugly. I picked up the reformulated True Match in C0.5, which is the lightest shade in their range, and is a perfect match and looks great.
I really appreciate you trying different finishes and price points.
Have you tried the Salt NY skin tint balm? It did not sound like something I would like but I have seen reviews and it looks fabulous.
The NYX blurskin tint really reminds me of the one size beauty beauty blur balm
Thank you so much for doing foundation reviews. I feel like most beauty RUclipsrs have dryer skin types, so it's nice to get a different perspective for us combo/oily folks. I learned my lesson with the KVD Good Apple balm.
I got the L'Oreal foundation a couple weeks ago and it's the first foundation in my life that I've had that matches my shade and undertone. I'm also combo/oily and got it off of your recommendation. Easy to say my top favorite foundation also ✨
I'm 39 and have combo skin (dry in the winter and oily in the summer) and I was NOT a fan of the NYX one, sadly. But my new favorite is the L'Oreal True Match Serum Foundation (with the dropper) - I actually did a 12 hour wear test a few weeks ago and it looked just as good at the end of the day (and I put it thru the test!). The shade match was actually really easy and I just love how it wears - it's overtaken my Fenty Ease Drop!
The 2 foundations I really would like to try are the loreal and juvia's place foundations. I was going to try the nyx one recently, but decided not to knowing mousse like textures don't go well with my textured skin. Not only that, but the one from nyx doesn't seem to have a good shade range/undertone.
I love the re-formulated L’Oréal! It’s so good for mature skin and for drier skin! Have you tried the Cover girl foundation with the red cap??? It’s also very good drugstore option!
Thanks for coming back and talking more about the NYX Blur foundation! I jumped on it too early after your first impression and I didn't like it 😅 I think we have different skin chemistries... For some reason everything you like, my pores soak it up and the rest is a slip n' slide! (Also oily combo, starting to mature skin)
The JP radiant foundation is so super matte full coverage foundation
Im in the process of trying out the Juvia’s Place! & I really love the way it makes my skin look! 😍😍😍
I used to have the L'Oreal True Match ages ago, so it might be worth trying it again!
Good morning Angie! I hope yall are enjoying your trip 😊💚🩵💜💙🧡🤎
Cannot agree more on the L'Oreal True Match!!
That's interesting the Mario foundation didn't break up on you. I feel like we are similar in age, skin type and makeup preferences and the Mario broke up around my nose after 3-4 hours. And that has never happened to me before with any foundation and I have quite a few. Yeah needless to say I wore it once and knew it wad not for me so I returned it. However I bought the hourglass soft glow foundation and absolutely love it!
So glad I watch this I just saw the reformulated L’Oreal foundation and I’m gonna give it a try. I love the original, so thanks for your recommendation.
It settled in my pores
I hated the make-up by Mario foundation so so much. I got it at the same time as the haus foundation and I definitely preferred the haus. The Mario was so sticky and dry looking on my combo dehydrated skin.
Oooh ok I need to try the new L’Oréal then… you’ve convinced me 👌🏻
I feel like there was one formula of the True match in the US and one in Europe, because in 2011-ish I bought one in the UK and it had a pump. Then in 2014 I bought one in the US without a pump. Then in 2018 I bought one in France (my country) and it has a pump (and shimmer mica as well, which the others did have, and I preferred it). And now, in my understanding, this one doesn't have a shimmery particules. I'm going to stay strong in my low buy, especially because I tried the one I have left at home and the match is really good, but the shimmers are... 🤢
I bought that Juvias place foundation when it launched and it’s been sitting on my vanity bc I am scared to try it on a day I have to go somewhere or get through a 9-10 hr work day. Natural radiant made me think I wouldn’t like it or it wouldn’t be longwear but i like juvias place and trying new foundations so I got it anyway. I thought the same as u ok the Haus labs so maybe I will like it !!
I love the Danessa Myricks blurring balm 😍😍😍
I mix it into my foundation sometimes!
I mix the NYX Bare with Me Blur with Revlon Colorstay in the Combo/Oily formula! That helps it last!
I didn’t like the Haus Labs or the MBM foundations. Both left me super oily and I’m a combination skin type. I gave up on the Nyx because the shades are orange, but I don’t feel I’m missing anything. I like the Juvia’s pace and L’Oréal foundations.
I love foundation reviews. I really hated that new NYX foundation. It makes my oily skin look dry, even when applying with a beauty blender. I dunno.
What a disaster! Thanks for the warning. I was going to buy some, but will avoid it since I could never use it on combination or oily skin.
I’m actually having a difficult time with the Juvia’s Place foundation. I’ve tried a few different things but have yet to find a combination of products that keep it from breaking up around my nose and on my forehead. It looks great on my cheeks though.
I'm going to use up what I have, then go search out the reformulated L'Oreal one!
Have not tried any new foundations last year. Have been working on what I have. I tried the makeup forever and although it was beautiful I could not get a match. My skin is now drier and will want to like some of the ones that are greAt for dry skin. I’m want to get a sample at Sephora before I commit to trying a new foundation. Thank you
I had to get a neutral or warm in haus foundation and I have a cool undertone but their cool ones were Yellow which is bizarre
Tarte calls their light yellow shades "neutral" and "pink undertones." Tarte is okay if you need fifty shades of yellow.
Thank You ❤
I have combo skin and Haus labs goes satin matte on me. VERY longwearing
The haus labs foundation is definitely not matte on me. It’s not oily but it doesn’t last and separates
I didn't like the Haus Labs either! I tried it different ways.... And it amplified the texture on my skin... And I couldn't find a color match either.....
That L’Oréal True Match settled in my pores and lines.I have mature skin. It was terrible
Impatiently waiting for China to hurry up changing their laws so I can use L'Oréal and Maybelline 😭
Hello Angie, could you please do a review on the new KVD apple foundation? It's not quite out yet, but I am soooo curious
You just saved me a couple of hundred dollars. Good info...
Your skin makeup must really not agree with Haus Labs. I bought it, and LOVE IT. Like yes, I am dry, well actually my face is more normal with oily T-zone, such as yourself. And I live in Western Australia, so very hot and goes between dry and humid (it's currently 36°C with heavy clouds in the air). Sure I look shiny with it but I wore it for 10hrs under a mask at work and it was still looking amazing afterwards. And I went for a walk in the heat and sun and even though I was sweating I was able to just dab it away. I think this just goes to show that our genetics are WAY MORE COMPLEX than just skin type, ya know what I mean? And that's why it's so good we have different formulas around. Like I know you love Make Up For Ever Foundation and it doesn't work for me. Their Concealer on the other hand is great for me
Can you review the new KVD one?
It sounds too good to be true I need reviews lol
Morning Angie 🤗
I really like the Hause Labs foundation but I do put the Danessa Myricks primer all over my face. I think that helps out and I always powder. Sorry it didn't work for you.
I'm so sick of waiting for my drugstores and Ulta to stock the new reformulated L'Oreal foundation
Can you try the very new KVD foundation when it will be released ? I have the same skin and same age as you (well, in 6 months) so I'd love to have your opinion !
Good afternoon Angie, i am on a journey to find some drugstore good foundations this year , the true Match is a good one that i love for years but i'm interested to try something new! 🤗 The Nyx one is still not available in Europe!
I have been waiting for this
