    This is the most clear explanation, with the most detailed video description, on the Quad Hinge system I personally have come across. Thank you for the placement/use ideas as well.

    I had no idea that hinge for track saws even existed . Thank you for the video and giving me ideas. Much appreciated

    Nice presentation! Thanks for the info. I've been considering the Quad Hinge for the bench I'm designing.

    Excellent video, I’ve experimented with all of these different things, I still haven’t found a set up that I’m completely thrilled with. I like the bench dogs hinge, I wish that it didn’t go into 20mm holes however, it would’ve been nicer if you had infinite variability as to where you could put it, plus they way my setup is I can’t really put a set of those holes on both sides…. Anyway, great video!

      Thanks for the compliment.
      The Quad hinge system isn't as compelling if you cannot implement the 20mm dog hole setup.
      For dog hole advocates, it is a strong option.
      The best thing about this maker environment is that we all can design and create what works best for us. Keep at it; you will find or develop a system that works best for you.
      Thanks for checking out the video.

    Great video! I bought the system this summer and am hoping to having it up and running in the next week or two on my new DIY MFT style table. Woul you consider doing a flip up out feed wing on your bench.

      Thanks. I have considered that and even purchased folding brackets for that purpose. I am still determining if I will implement it, though, due to other ideas I have.

    Does the front part that catches the rail have any adjustment side to side in case there is any out of squareness with the holes in the bench? Nice workshop buddy 👍

    • @daddysharespace
      @daddysharespace  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks. The Benchdogs.Co.Uk Rail Hinge System has machined holes that are not slotted. It does not appear to have the ability to adjust in the way that you are asking. The hinge system has multiple holes for different types of track saws, which allows for adjustment to various rails.
      Thanks again for checking out the video.

    You should get a dashboard shortcut (or DIY your own out of 8020) for your smaller setup and compare the dashboard hinge

      I like your idea. I was planning of doing a video about the Dashboard setup. I just have not gotten around to it as of yet. Thanks to taking time to check out the video.

      Bench dogs are much better quality and style with Zero plastic and perfect for small or larger set ups like yours. That bench is a beast and bigger than average woodworkers on here. I applaud you for not following everyone and buying from Britain.@@daddysharespace

    I noticed you didn't have a small dog behind the under rail fence, You may not need it with your setup but I have noticed that the under rail fence can deflect and you need a special dog ( it has a cut out) to stop that.
    The under rail support kit has this special dog or you can get the support dog alone.

    • @daddysharespace
      @daddysharespace  Год назад

      Are you referring to the flat sided dogs? If so I believe I do have one or two some where around the shop. I usually reference off or the main fence as opposed to the under rail due to the deflection. I actually removed the under rail from my shorter fence for that very reason. I will have to try the flat faced dog.
      Thanks for checking out the video.

      @@daddysharespacethe flat faced dog is useful, sometimes when we press the material against the fence, it doesn’t sit flush and moves due to the deflection. Noticeable on long cuts for me

    • @daddysharespace
      @daddysharespace  Год назад

      I have seen this as well. I was compensating by putting pressure against the main fence section with the fence bolted down. The use of flat face dogs seem like an improvement over my method.

    I have absolutely no idea why the algorithm brought me here but I’m totally enthralled 🤔

    I’ve never understood why The mft is set up to have the cut line towards the right, considering the part your cutting is to the left, ie under the rail. Your first setup even exaggerates that.
    Would it not be better to have the cut line more towards the center like your second placement?
    9:27 if you use the offset built into the jig you got with your hinge, drill offset holes in the outside row of holes on your table. Your cut lines would then be between the dog holes when using the ujk rail clips. The Peter Parfitt goes through all the variations.
    Ok finished the vid, I see why you’re down at the end with the cut, kind of see why the 4’ table is maybe not the way to go for cross cuts. Your table does work well for ripping sheets down and assembly.

    • @daddysharespace
      @daddysharespace  Год назад

      Mine is set up like that because I have the 2200mm fence which is over 86 inches. My MFT needs to be longer than 8 feet to have decent off cut support. To manage that I use my table saw cart which is at the same height or my Festool MFT cart. That gives me additional out feed support.
      I made my MFT 4 foot by 8 foot so that I can process full sheets of plywood.
      I did not know about the offset holes. I will have to check that out. Thanks for the info. And checking out the video.
