Luka really is that guy and I wouldn't be shocked if he broke Kobe's 81 before his career is over. He could've done it this game if he forced things but he's too unselfish of a player to force things, especially in a close game.

73 pts with 76 % . Close to triple Double. With an impact on the game of over 100 points, playing away and against a mid-table team, it's one of the most important and outstanding performances in NBA history, and he's only 24. For instance, Embiid, at 30, is having a great season at the peak of his career, but his 70-point game had many free throws, was at home, and against the worst team in the West. What happened last season? Embiid was MVP, considered a steal as Jokic was the true deserving candidate. What will happen this year? Embiid deserves the MVP so far, but if Doncic continues like this, it won't be a theft; he'll deserve the MVP, just like Wemby for ROY, despite their teams having worse records than Philadelphia or Oklahoma.

I don't know if you watched the game but there's no rational argument for saying there was no defense played on Luka this game. Guys were doing everything they possibly could and it didn't matter. Overall year scoring is up but a lot of it is just how efficient offenses are. Sure you can change a rule or two to allow what rightfully are fouls to be considered "defense" but that doesn't change the fact analytics have completely revolutionized the game's offensive potency. Defense needs to adapt next to keep up, they're lagging behind the curve compared to the offense.

If you watch every single bucket he got you can argue 8 of those points were easy ones, the rest was all defended well

Unbelievable game from #77. Just add 3 solid players. A big tall long 3D wing. A quality rim protector to back Liv up or split time with him. A on ball defender that can hit the open 3 but D is their top talent.

You‘re wrong a guy like Luka would still manage to have 30 ppg with defense because he can do it all and has a physical game that no other PG has.
I do wish rules in favor of defense again because let’s be honest the NBA today is a joke. We have great offensive talents that don’t need that much easy rules.
