The best bedding for sheep in barn confinement, at least in our opinion is sawdust. The purpose of bedding your sheep barn is to keep your sheep and lambs comfortable, clean, and the environment dust free. Saw dust give excellent absorption abilities which result in a clean environment for your sheep. It also creates less dust resulting in fewer respiratory issues. Here is the real kicker, it is also economical and provides additional nutrients to our hay field that we spread the manure on.
