Hello everyone! So with the songs vs show, maybe we can meet in the middle. I wont react to the major story spoiler songs and save those for the show. so maybe like, 2-3 more songs and then we can watch the show together :3 Does that sound good?!

For clarity, the original pilot of the show came out back in 2019, and this song was after that. In the pilot/Addict, Angel Dust is voiced by Michael Kovach, however for the release of the official Amazon Prime show Angel is now voiced by Blake Roman. That explains why they don't sound the same lol, they aren't!
Also the other character in this song is Cherri Bomb, Angel Dust's best friend, she is from the pilot and makes an appearance in the show!
Definitely recommend watching the original pilot for some clarity on the whole story and characters!

Still, the idea of following around a guy suffering sexual abuse and working on escaping his abuser while trying to better himself is such a nice concept.
I mean, he more or less is. Charlie and Him are the 2 with the most room for growth, so they may as well be the 2 protagonists

In season 1 Charlie, Veggie, Sir Pentious, Niffty, Husk, Angel, Alastor are one of the main characters, in this show there isn't only 1 main character, there are other important characters too, like Lucifer, and the other overlords, and the villain such as Adam, Lute, Valentino, Vox, Velvet etc
A really fun detail about this music video is that if you pause near the end when Cherri and Angel are walking out of the studio before they blow it up, there's a neon sign that you can see for a split second that says "it was all a dream" which needless to say shows that basically he's just fantasizing of breaking free from this horrible self destructive life that he's trapped in in this big over-the-top way with his best friend. And then the last 30 seconds after the credits is him coming down from the high and having to start facing reality again.

A fan of the original pilot wrote this song. It got made into an official song because they liked it so much. It is based on extended lore released by the creator of Hazbin Hotel at various points.

Good ear. This is the actor who did the voice for the pilot. The show was recast for the full series, because most of the original cast wasn't capable of singing the songs. Michael Kovach was the original VA and has gone on to do voicework in Poppy Playtime, The Amazing Digital Circus, and as Rocky Rickaby in Lackadaisy, which I highly recommend.

Poison is a sort of spiritual successor to this more standalone song that was made around the same time as A24 picked up Hazbin Hotel to start producing the episodes.
It was also before Angel had his current voice actor. In the pilot, everyone had a different voice actor actually.

The pilot for Hazbin hotel came out in 2019. Either 2020 or 2021 Viv finally sold it to A24 and has kept mostly creative control. Addict was a fan song done by Silvia Hound and got animated by the studio (spindlehorse).

The pilot of the show came out 3 years ago but the Actual Season of the show came out recently
Also watch the pilot before you watch episode 1. The creator calls the pilot sort of 'soft canon' now, but as long as you watch it with that in mind it sets you up to watch the rest of the show alot better.

Edit 2: the show started off as a pilot on RUclips in 2019 and the music video was released a few months after. The show got picked up and was released as an official show with a completely different voice cast in January. Hope that helps :)

So some information about the show it was originally a indie animation pilot video that came out on youtube 4 years ago after all the popularity of the pilot it was picked up to be a show on Amazon prime now! Also for the voice actor in addict is the pilot va while the one in poison is the new angel dust va! New va is Blake Roman the original pilot va is Michael kovach which is the one in this video
The creator of this show is actually Vivzepop, whose name is on RUclips. If I remember correctly, she uploaded the pilot episode to RUclips with the song Addict a few years ago. The creator has another series on RUclips, its name is Helluva Boss and there are songs in it, my favorites are House of Asmodeus in Helluva Boss and Respectles and Stayed gone in Hazbin Hotel.
I would Suggest U do a reaction of ''Hell is Forever'' next It's one of the best in the show(IMO)

the pilot dropped like 4-5 years ago its been a while since i looked
this song was a little bit after the pilot and all the characters VA's got changed for the shows release so the VA's for this song are different from the VA's for poison
to my understanding the demons figure and power is based off their life in some way so not everyone is an animal but a lot of the demons are because of how much symbolism goes with them.

Would HIGHLY recommend you watch the Hazbin Hotel PILOT (if you haven’t already) before watching the A24/Amazon series, but also keep an open mind that a lot if not ALL the VAs got replaced between both versions, so you may or may not hear lotta differences between the voices in the characters!
Michael Kovach voices Angel Dust in the Pilot and sang in this music video, the voice was then changed to Blake Roman for the main show on Prime because Viv wanted Broadway actors/actresses to be starring for her helluva musical show!

If you haven't already and plan to watch the show I would recommend checking out "Thank You and Goodnight" (maybe after watching the pilot) which was a song recorded by the show's Pilot cast as a sort of thanks and farewell to the fanbase that fell in love with these characters in part due to their performances. Because as others have mentioned the whole show was recasted for the Prime release.
It doesn't have any real connection to the show other than the voices, like no lore or story, but it's such a good bittersweet song still.
It is a different VA: Michael Kovach is Angel Dust's original voice from the Pilot and this song!
Piece of advice: I would first check the PILOT of Hazbin Hotel from 2019 if I were you, because of the spoilers

So The character that pops up in the puddle and the one shot of Cherri Bomb is named Izzy, he was an original character for Vivs orginal youtube series called Zoophobia, but was later scrapped and put into the Hazbin lore. While his character is still a mystery he has some connection to Cherri bomb and is possibly an Australian mob boss or bounty hunter

As others have said, ADDICT came before the show but after the pilot, so the VA is different. The VA is the same one from the pilot actually!

Ye the show only came out very recently but it's basically been in the making and process for a while now mostly because they needed to pick a good enough partnership for it, the pilot came out literally years ago and my gosh it's probably one of the few biggest fandom because of how odd and unique it was and even with just pilot and a few other official things the fandom have only grown over time and been active and now with the show finally officially coming out it's only grown even more and at a faster rate old fans coming back and all and more fans and fan content makes it more popular and thus the cycle goes on!

So this song came out after the pilot which came out in 2019. That other girl is Cherri Bomb, Angel's best friend. And she blew up the club for Angel so he doesn't have to perform there. I love their friendship 🥹 The pig is Fat Nuggets, Angel's pet and that girl at the end is Charlie the princess of hell!
Honestly, it's been really fun watching you feel out the show through the music (I especially like watching you work frame-by-frame to get the good details). I think it would be nice to see you get the context for the music through the show. There's two songs per episode as well, so you'd have a ton to work with.

Very important for context, it is a soft canon (style changes and some things got changed/swaped) but you definitely need it to understand what th tension is in episode 1.

Harbinger hotel’s pilot came out a while ago before the show was greenlit. The creator was a youtuber and had basically the entire world lore made with an audience watching updates. A few music videos were made by the voice actors after the pilot was released. Unfortunately none of the pilot actors are able to go on the show due to legal reasons and stuff. Highly recommend reacting to the pilot before the show

I think the only songs you can probably listen to without major story spoilers are Stayed Gone, Hell's Greatest Dad, and mayyyybe More Anything. Other than that you might to leave the rest for show reaction. If you want to react to just more songs, you could go back to the pilot songs that are kinda like Addict.
The reason this had the warning while the others didnt is this was an individual release, while the other songs were part of an episode

This song was before it was taken on by Bento box, A24, and Prime. The pilot and this song used the original voice cast. The official show on Prime uses a whole new Broadway voice cast. However, in my opinion, they did a pretty good job with finding similar voices in the recast. The original voice actor for Angel Dust in this song and in the pilot is voiced by Michael Kovach. The new voice actor is Blake Roman, who you would've seen do the live performance of Poison.

I really like hazbin and since I have already seen all the reactions in my language. Now I went to foreign - English to watch the reactionaries. and you have one of the most memorable reactions. my knowledge of the language is extremely low, but +\- I understand what you are saying and your emotions speak better than any words. This is extremely surprising because in my country emotions are usually hidden as much as possible and this is so interesting to watch. just how other people exist

Hazbin made a pilot about 5 years ago. The hype kept going as they pitched the show and fans made songs. Some of these where animated.

6:22 the show did come out recently, but this music video was right after the pilot (kind of like a trailor) which was I think four or three years ago.
And now in the new show, Angel Dust also has a new voice actor

As a note on top of recommending watching the pilot for a good base like @Jingleicious said in another comment (I definitely do recommend it) - there 𝘩𝘢𝘴 been a fair amount of change made in the voice actors and some of the character personalities are tweaked. Still an awesome start to the hotel madness tho!
As to your question: I personally enjoy watching the song reactions as you can put the entirety on RUclips as opposed to the episodes (though you 𝘮𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵 be able to record a pilot and first episode reaction since they’re on RUclips already🤔…). You will definitely get spoilers, so that might effect your experience watching the show, but I personally think it’d still be worthwhile to get shorter reaction videos with content you can share the entirety of. Definitely your decision though!😁
Regarding the release timeline: Episode 0 came out a few years ago, probably to gauge interest. Over the next few years, they released a music video or two. IIRC there were some legal issues, so basically every voice actor had to be replaced, which is why episode 1 only came out recently, and why Angle Dust sounds different. HOWEVER! What you may not know is that there's a sister show called Helluva Boss that is done by the same animation team (or at least style), and takes place in this same universe. This show has been putting out episodes every few months directly to youtube while we all waited for Hazbin Hotel. I also highly recommend checking that out as well, as it is also quite excellent.

So a little explanation. Hazbin Hotel has been in the making for at least 5 years. A pilot episode aired on RUclips in 2019, which led to Addict and another song called Insane being released. Vivziepop had to wait to get the show signed with a network, which ended up being Amazon. The VA for Angel Dust in the official show, as well as in the song Poison, is Blake Roman, while in the Pilot and this song, it was Michael Kovach. Both are phenomenal voice actors and singers in their own right
Side note: You should check out Insane by Black Gryph0n, which is a song about the character, Alastor, he has a studio version and a period accurate live version. And you should react to the pilot episode as well!

Looking at all your reactions that I already watched (yes, I came here with Poison,then Loser Baby, so, yes), I JUST REALLY CAN'T WAIT FOR YOU TO GET TO EPISODE 4 (I really hope that you will decide will watch and react the show,)!! And... just get ready, man, this is going to be VERY... difficult. I don’t know if this counts as a spoiler (I really hope not), but it’s in episode 4 Angel Dust and everything he goes through is revealed to us. It’s hard for a lot of people when they watch it.
I strongly recommend watching the pilot episode before the actual show, since it gives a lot more context for the universe and the characters
