I hope you like green. This mission is another tug-of-war with two lanes, but much more difficult than Pride of the Empire. Attacking towards the first expansion is harder after watching the opening cutscene versus skipping it since the Demon Gates are active during the cinematic and summoning units during it. I take the harder route to show you don't need to exploit this fact, but you can make the first part easier by skipping the intro.
Taking out the rightmost Demon Gates removes one major source of attacks on your base as the left Demon Gates will target the Dwarves who can take care of themselves. This leaves Wolf Regiment attacks and you cannot avoid antagonizing them into sending attack waves. Destroying their base is a main objective, but it is across the map and maintaining your allies lanes' integrity has to take priority. I tower spam my main base and this keeps me safe from Dark Gray, but it is tough to split attention across taking the early expansion, assisting lanes without losing heroes, and properly building a defense.
By not fully destroying Lera's base in Defense of Home, you get an extra hero here with the powerful Starfall ultimate. You're going to need this and I'd recommend going back and even replaying Defense of Home if you didn't spare Lera initially. Our allied NPC heroes also have some great AOE spells like Salana's Starfall and Merlon's Thunderstorm. Theoden in the top lane has survivability but lacks major lane push. I would say be ready to support him, but frankly you need to support anywhere and everywhere on this map.
Responding to any lane that seems to be getting pushed back with Aedale's Mass Teleport is an ok strategy, but I found myself struggling quite a bit when trying to play reactively like this. I found the solution in being much more proactive and teleporting anywhere an enemy hero appears, no matter how far up or back the lane has been pushed. Sir Lerrig in particular will push his lane pretty much entirely back across the map, but all the enemy heroes have the potential to do this.
Kill an enemy hero and soften up the enemy units with some AOE, but don't stick around too long and instead move to where another hero appears. Aedale, Lera, and Harmos together are great for mobile lane assist with their AOE, while Blen and Zarin can hang back for Wolf Regiment and assist bottom lane occasionally. Successfully doing this enough times will get your lanes to the enemy fortifications, but mana and cooldowns will eventually prevent quick enemy hero kills and therefore halt too much early progress.
Follow this repertoire and have mostly self-sufficient tower spam against Wolf Regiment in order to eventually be able to destroy the left Demon Gates and take a third gold mine. Be aware that you can build structures in the Knights of Kome base and this will draw Wolf Regiment's attacks up there instead. I recommend not doing this because the lanes already need all the help they can get and it is a bad idea to pile on additional pressure to them, even if you support them with towers.
Do not try to path through the connecting center swamp. Progderas hangs out there and the difficult terrain requires a large force to clear him out. I am not able to do this until fairly late into the map, but once it is open I can start moving army units through to prep for an attack on Wolf Regiment. I make sure to push my allied lanes a bit forward after I was busy with Progderas and then Wolf Regiment falls easily with the combined power of my heroes.
Thoroughly destroying all of Wolf Regiment's production is time consuming and I end up leaving early with my heroes because bottom lane needs help. After regaining momentum, I finish up Dark Gray and get back to pushing lanes towards the win. Bottom lane can have a tendency to get bottled up on the enemy ramps, but if either lane gets stuck and pathblocked then teleport to the other lane instead and push hard. Closing out the map becomes much simpler without the Demons, Progderas, or Wolf Regiment interfering.
Blen will not be usable again after this mission, so I give away his best items. Harmos will be appearing in a few late game missions, so it's not a bad idea to prioritize his inventory. Lera's items are not droppable, nor will she be returning to player control again.

Jay activating hard mode by refusing to exploit the cutscene trick for us unlearned viewers, what a man, what a guy!
I remember when this was a no-build mission, the pain was in fact real. Props to Shar for his work on bettering the maps

Merlon supporting either side with Thunderstorm and his aura: what a man.
Edit: And let us not forget the Truth that Sage bears: that level 3 Divine Shield is stupid in tugs of war.
