This is better than any beginner guide, I learned what I needed to start instead of getting tone of information in short time like in other videos.
Having watched all of the episodes in this series, I have to thank you for providing such an excellent "tutorial" masterclass on how to play. I was about to be overwhelmed by three groups of 18 brigands in the first "normal" attack. And since I had badly messed up balancing the oxen, I had lots of villagers but no retinue and no archers - just one band of 36 spearmen. With your help, I survived the assault, albeit losing 17 spearmen. And then I learned something: IF you have someone assigned to the church, they will not only bury villagers in the churchyard, but will ALSO bury raiders in the corpse pit. No need to staff the pit!
Wow. The first sttlements of Crown Falls. I am hyped up to see the development of this town.
This was the first playthrough I watched and it peaked my interest for the game.
Now I've played about 200 hours and decided I would try this hardest difficulty level... NOOO! I've failed, repeatedly, so now I'm going to RE-WATCH your playthrough and try to see where I keep going wrong. Thanks, friend, for your delightful videos!
If your first move of game is to turn homeless camp into workers tents - you get zero homeless debuff . I’ve just tested it - still works. Then, once you’ve built 5 homes - destroy the workers tent.
This is a trap. The moment your families have a home they want clothes, two types of food and a church. You won't be able to finish the church on time and people will leave because of a -20 church unhappiness.

Yeah, saw one of these playthroughs on extreme settings already ... game ended when all 5 families left because of discontent. Was boring to say the least, player was put in an impossible position, with no way out.
I have no doubt he will give his utmost to go as far as he possibly can.

its really funny to watch the detailed work, like the guy who's running away from the chopped tree,
I think i like this style of play better than your other playthrough. Because of the extra pressure, theres more strategy and stuff. I do like when its very chill and slow, but I also like this style.

@@MrSigmatico this game is like 20 times more complex. Frost punk is nice with good atmosphere but the mechanics are stone age.

They could implement a StarCraft multiplayer verses game mode and it would flow so well. Hard to place that into a single player framework though.
This game is the ultimate combo of Age of Empires and City Skylines, they absolutely crushed it.

Should have upgraded tents from the start, houses 5 people and no negatives.
There is a bug so they stay homeless after the build, its fixed by saving and exiting the save and reload

I do have a question that's puzzled me: is there any particular reason you didn't add another hitching post early on?
As far as I can make out it only cost one log and I would have thought the extra oxen would massively increase productivity and more than pay for itself in no time.
Admittedly my knowledge is basic as I don't actually have the game yet (on console) so could easily be missing something.
Haven’t really played the game but have watched DLCs for different types of culture would be cool like making a medival arabic society or feudal Japanese village as a clan would be cool

I’ve found that the construction reserve in the saw pit keeps resetting to zero. Does anyone know if it resets when you unassign then reassign a family?

This is crazy to me. I tried this a couple times (less extreme settings actually -- more bandit camps in particular will make this incredibly hard, as it will give the AI influence faster), and sure I manage the building and fighting the raiders, but the AI comes knocking year 2 with some 200-300 troops, at which point I die. Tried twice now. REALLY curious to see how you manage THAT!

I don't know if anyone mentioned it but it is just a bug. If you upgrade your camp then save the game and load that save game the penalty will be gone.

Well i was loving it because i was learning so much, but didnt like that you skipped 15 days on the video when you had 22% approval (22:22)
I think the worker's camp could be a good tactic early on because it hardly costs anything and provides a bit of storage and pantry. I think it also slows the rate of the homeless penalty in the early part of the game.
Try it. Upgrading the worker will immediately add more discontent and you lose your first family before February.
Yes, it gets rid of the homelessness modifier but since they are no longer homeless, their needs (clothing,fuel etc) start kicking in, which snowballs much harder than just being homeless, which will make them leave your village.
I'm going to keep playing Farthest Frontier until this game is or is near completed. I hate having finished my city and then new stuff comes out

Might get wrecked if you're going Archers. Apparently they got nerfed pretty hard. I tried using some as support for some Spearmen and they were barely doing any damage at all.

Does it matter how big the backyard of an house is?
I think only for vegetables and orchards. They will produce more in a bigger backyard. The rest all don’t need a lot of space

It’s hard and make you think every second that’s the fun of it I played on the middle difficulty and that was fun but when I got to max town with 300-400 people and start another town that was easy and no one can go against me anymore and no one came on me that fun is you grow but they constantly try to start war with you and when you have couple of territory’s and each one of them is being attacked and each army of the towns defend their land that’s so much fun

Yes, sort of. You can change how much things have an effect on the happiness of the citizens.this effectively makes happiness not a concern anymore.Keeping happiness isn't that hard once you understand the basics.
These videos with extreme difficulty are not that fun. The game is constantly on the edge and you barely make it through all the bullshit the game throws at you. But oh well... Let's watch!
