- Finished! I have about $30 into this....$100 saved!
At the end, the generator makes a rubbing sound from brushes. I found out that when you run it as a motor, it turns the opposite way it normally turns.
So if you run it as a motor to re-polarize the field, it runs clockwise.
When used as a generator, it is turned anti clockwise.
So: I'm turning it the wrong way and it makes brush noise, however when turned anti clockwise...its quiet.
So, It should be fine. Авто/Мото
Good job fixing the generator. It should be good for another 50 years of service.👍
Ha, ha, ha...probably so

Air-cooled vw's, will out live Volkswagen, if they keep building junk cars. 😆
@@vintage76vipergreenBeetle every car company is building junk cars now. You can’t believe it.
It used to be 30 years or so ago. I would put Glass in cars. And they would be all these intricate moldings, and screws and attachments.
Now, all you have is a painted pocket. A big bead urethane glue. And the glass. As cheap as they can make it.
Most of this stems from the EPA. They have to make the car lighter, in order to pass miles per gallon standards. So everything is made out of plastic, or omitted completely. Cars nowadays are a big box of air.
Funny… They didn’t get any cheaper.

You're right. They should be cheaper, because of all the plastic parts.
just love this school from home due to covid. I'm learning something everyday but the big lesson is I missed a lot of fun in life but enjoying it through you guys out there. Thanks again
😀😀😀
Great video; I learned something new today! Thanks.
Thank you, I learn also.....this is the 6th beetle I’ve owned, and I’m still learning.
FYI, if the generator turns counter clockwise when polarizing, stop and spin it clockwise manually, or with a drill, remove drill and immediately apply power before the generator stops spinning, if the generator is polarized in the wrong direction it will not charge when the engine turns it in the clockwise direction.
ahhh thank you. did not know that
Interesting moments!
Great video as usual.
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you sir!
new tip i'm using on my 6v dynamo to test it.
Good idea
