I live in college park md and was so stoked to watch these two aircraft (22 and mustang) flying together one afternoon in preparation for an airshow at Joint Base Andrews just screaming. Beautiful sight man!
For those of you that have never seen an F-22 in a combat zone, let me say what you see at Air Shows is but a very very small basic example of their true performance and flight envelope.. It is something they never display in public for good reason... This is one impressive jet.
That's been true about all US jet fighters who've ever performed a demo at an air show. Even at Stead AFB, Miramar, Lancaster, Beale, etc. They all tone it way down....
@@phyiir1322 SU57 has much more advanced avionics and much, much better missiles. Russian missile tech is a decade ahead of NATO. The question is: how much difference does the superior stealth of the Raptor make? On all other capabilities the SU57 is superior, except maybe for topspeed.
@@PatrickSavalle Hm...Completely Agreed. Well stated! While reading through your well proposed statement. I found a slight error. You said that the su-57 has much better avionics and missiles than the f-22. But how does that work if we compare the blackbird and something modern. Obviously the blackbird (sr-71) is going to win... unless it's compared to an A-10 lol. But, something that's behind modern technology (like the f-22) doesn't mean it should be put down. I dont have enough time to finish my statement so sadly, I will not be able to finish right now.
Thanks for the amazing video of this monster! I had an up close moment with a Raptor several years ago as Lockheed put it thru testing. I was driving on I-75S near Marietta GA when a Raptor came out of nowhere, vertical, right next to my window. It was uncomfortably close and started me and everyone around me. The pilot had the bay doors opened, it made no sound and was gone in an instant. I watched cars behind me swerving as they saw it fly over the interstate 150 feet above them. After reaching my hotel I did some research and saw that LM was indeed testing the Raptor in Marietta. A profound experience I will never forget. Such a beautiful beast and deadly to a fault...
I second that. When you look at this jet from the cockpit forward, it has the look of a prehistoric creature. I can't quite put my finger on it, maybe it reminds me of a pterodactyl. A simply amazing machine. Admiration from the UK!

In the olden days we used to have some confidence that superior technology would provide an advantage over an adversary for at least a few years, maybe even a decade or more. With the pace of progress nowadays, pretty much anything might become obsolete in the blink of an eye. But what an amazing airplane...

I was walking along the stockade fence next to the asylum and i keep hearing the patients yelling thirteen, thirteen, thirteen...I spotted a knothole in the fence so i looked through it...All of a sudden a stick hit me in the eye and i started hearing fourteen, fourteen, fourteen...
And to think the pilots are only using 1/2 the F-22s capabilities. I’ve seen them make a maneuver whereby they can turn within a little more than the planes length. I could believe my eyes. They don’t display their true nature at air shows. Well done video.
DON'T get me wrong, I love the F-35 and know it beats the F-22 in alot of categories but from an appearance stand point it just looks like a cool modern jet. The F-22 still looks ahead of its time and has that wow factor in its looks. I'm not talking function wise, I'm saying it looks outta this world and menacing. The f-35 doesn't give me that feeling.
Thanks for some great videos from Oshkosh - very enjoyable. One small minor gripe - I know it would add to editing time but be great if you broke most of the fast pan shots and lost maybe 80% - just instead cross fade from view left to view right for instance. Your coverage of home builds was if I recall a case in point though you got some great footage. Anyways - a great record of the event - and the F-22 is awesome. :)

The acceleration after rejected landing is amazing. The gear retract speed is awesome. Let's see an F22x that gets new bay doors (can still retain former) to hold 4 more AMRAAMs (2 on each bay's door) that can see 10 internal 120Ds, or 6 internal w/ 4 1k JDAMs, while at the same time modifying the side bays to hold 120Ds or AIM9x. It'd be nice to see 120D also be able to hit radar's like the heavier warhead HARM. Tech wise we should be able to enable ground attack w/ the 120D.
There is simply not that much room in the weapon bay. It is just deep enough for s ingle AMRAAM vertically, and they must be offset upon the longitudinal axis to fit all three. The only reason an F-35 can carry AMRAAMs on the door station is because its bay is much deeper to accommodate a wider variety of weapons. Deepening the weapon bay of an F-22 would require a complete redesign of the air-frame from the ground up.
@@ApeRiderr I wouldn't worry about the weight too much, an extra pair of AMRAAMs is like 1000 lbs IIRC. But if you had to thicken the weapons bay it would not be the same plane for sure.
How come cool things like this never happen near my neighborhood? And I live about 20 miles from Dobbins Air Base! And what's scary is most of the test pilots for the 22 and 23 said the 23 was the better plane. Now that's scary! F22 is an amazing aircraft. I told my dad that if the Wright Brothers could come back for one day, they would be amazed to find out that they started ALL of this. Can't wait to see the 6th Gen fighter jet that's forthcoming. They say it won't be ready until the late 2020's.

Best of show in my opinion. Those engines have a thundering sound unlike anything I've ever heard. Just awesome.
How could you not watch this over and over?? Awesome!
Some of the best F22 footage on youtube!!!
The sound of those engines roaring with headphones on at 100% volume sends chills down my spine. Absolutely beautiful.
What!!
I love the F-22. I get to see them fly in October at Wings Over North Georgia Airshow.
KevieO same but in Florida and I get to see them once in a while cuz I live near an air force base
I realize that jet engines are a thing of the past, with the anti-gravity we have had for over 50 years, but I still love watching them:)
This never happens around my house. This is awesome. After watching Top Gun in the 80's we used to always look up when hearing a jet approaching!!
What these planes can do is just out of this world . They defy all physics
Those Raptors have a very distinct sound. Best sounding jets in the world if you ask me
The F-22 looks so elegant.
