That TopDon scanner is a great tool for the price, definitely going to look into that. Great video Sky, I was wondering about converting to the newer coils. Was going to try exactly what you did...now I don't have to. The only question I have is the early Hemi's used the waste spark system, the newer (2007+) use the dual fire from my understanding, so does the conversion still fire the coil on the opposite bank as well, I guess it would?
Finally a scan tool that doesn't cost 2000$ and is real world usable. I'm going to replace my old Matco Determinator that is way past its sell by date with TopDon scan tool for home shop side job work. Thank you for sharing it with us. As a retired Mopar tech I appreciate you bringing stuff like that in with the great bread and butter builds you do. Now people are able to build these Gen III's at home and have fun with these cars on a serious note without the high dollars spent. LS may be cheap but the Hemi wins the day.. Mopar or NO Car baby!
Thank you, for the respect you give to the LX chassis Mopars!! So many bad mouth the LXs. I have had a total of 3 LXs. All 5.7 2006 Chargers. Two R/Ts and my 06' Pursuit. I also have a 2016 Scat Pack Challenger. I have had many Mopars. I am looking to add an awd LX for a daily driver instead of my 14' FPIS. You can take a woman out of a Mopar, but not Mopar out of the woman. I have alwats worked on and modified my cars. I know how important it is to be able recalibrate the steering angle sensor is and diagnose the dreaded abs codes on these cars. Thank you, TopDon for incorporating these functions!! Reignited, your channel is THE BEST Mopar tech channel. You deserve the Donut Cheif job more than anyone. I appreciate how thourogh you are and your tips!!!
You can perform the steering angle sensor reset without a scan tool. There’s a specific procedure where you turn the wheels lock to lock finishing with the wheels pointing straight ahead with the engine running, shut the engine off, start the engine and and drive a bit. There’s also the auto window up procedure you have to do when the battery has been disconnected. If you want to crank the engine without it starting you don’t need to pull the fuel pump fuse. Just press the gas to the floor and hold it there. Then turn the ignition to start it. It will crank and not fire up. Fuel is off. This is called a clear flood condition. I use this after all oil changes to get the new oil circulating first. After a few cranks I let up on the gas pedal and turn the ignition on again. Starts right up and I know the oil has had a chance to circulate a bit.
Everyone beat me to the Top Topdon thing, I have an 05 magnum, and I am currently getting the engine rebuilt and ready for twin turbos! So these videos are extremely helpful, thank you for what you do!!
Just found this channel when I searched for putting a Hellcat oil pump on my 5.7. I’ve already watched 5 videos. Thank you sir! TOPDON “enter me please”
That Topdon scan tool seems like a really good deal...... It's unfortunate that it doesn't have the misfire option, but it's still better that the scan tool I have now. As a Hemi fan and owner of two, I'm a huge fan of your channel Sky!
Sky, not sure if you've seen it or heard about it but FCAdiag lets you do some of the special functions also. I used it to disable tpms before, raise the headlight voltage, code a new set of keys (When I only had one), and probably a few other things I'm forgetting. I can't remember if you can bleed the ABS, but that feature is super useful for a home mechanic. I believe you can also turn off the canbus light check if you are running LED lights. It uses a simple OBD2 reader (I use the OBDLink MX scanner). It costs something like $50. Really great tool - note it is not a tuner though, this is more for accessing other control modules and stuff. Great video as always. Man those injectors sure are loud, but I think most cars are loud also. Especially the direct injected ones. I know a large part of the hourly rate is for leasing the very expensive scan tools, and the operating costs, but the amount dealers are charging nowadays is just incredible. Although I do have to thank a particular Chevy Dealer, because his estimate was so high, it was the impetus for me to start working on my own cars (In a more than just basic maintenance way) over 20 years ago.
Another great Reignited video. I appreciate the Love for the magnum LX platform. And with more and more content creators doing a magnum series on RUclips, might help the guys and Gals at Dodge to bring back this Beautiful wagon. Of course you will be the "TOPDON" at Reignited Thank you and keep the good stuff comin!
TopDon, I really enjoy your videos. My Dodge has a 5.7 Hemi. Cyl 8 started misfiring bad. It was not the coil or the fuelinjection and it rattled bad. I'm not a novis on engines and the biggest job I have done was the crankshaft bearings on a Jaguar in line six cylinder about 50 years ago. I watched a number of your videos. Got camshaft, lifters and more from Mopar. Thanks a lot you gave me the motivation to do it. Purrs like a kitten again. Thanks
A Topdon scan tool would be a great addition to my tool collection. As a hemi owner in my 19 Ram, your content is so valuable. Thank you for the hard work you put into sharing with us.
Good news my man, just picked a winner today and you're it! Email me your shipping info sales@reignitedtx.com and I'll have them send it out to you, congrats! 🙌🙌🙌
Great video Sky, timing was perfect I am just installing the heater tubes on my 5.7 I had to pick up the new o-rings in the city $15. each at the Dodge dealer. TOPDON
I’ve honestly been really curious about swapping to the coil pack but was nervous about chopping the harness for them but this definitely motivates me for it
I've been religiously watching the channel since the truck install and it's always informative with great tips to make hemi work a little easier, I have the Top Don scanner and it works great on a budget just as good as my autel.
I bought a decent scan tool, a launch crp129e, it was about the same price. Paying a little extra really pays off. I have diagnosed a few problems on my car and my friends, so it has paid for it self already and some
i took a large flat plate and drilled to bolt on where the intake bolts on and in the center bolted to the plate one of those holley universal carb lift plates. it works really great engine is always level and i positioned it where the tilt is perfect to mate up the transmission makes install and removal so much better expecially on trucks because i work by my self and do not remove the hoods
Appreciate that, I do want to do some transmission videos since that's my specialty. But I'm trying to find the right subject matter that will appeal to the widest audience. 👍
I got a 05 300 c that I love it has 196000 miles on it with a 5.7 and the hemi tick I want to save it and your videos r the only ones I trust that I can save and fix myself
Awesome video series Sky! I recently got the TOPDON 800BT and I love it! Would be nice to have more of their products. I also wanted to say thanks for all your content. I'm currently putting my Ram 1500 back together after having a lifter fail. Followed your Cam swap series and its coming along nicely.😎👍 First time tearing apart a 5.7 HEMI.😁🤘
Great Magnum PI update video. Also, I purchased a TopDon battery tester based on youre previous video. It works great. I may want to purchase the more advanced TopDon scan tool. $270 is a deal! 👍
I really enjoyed your video. I've watched the whole series because I'm rebuilding my 5.7 at this moment. I would like to be entered to win the topdon scanner. Thanks for all you do for us DIY guys. We'll guess I missed the contest. I just noticed you did this video series a year ago
That’s a really grateful thing for TOPDON to do as well as yourself in these times to give away a product! Your videos have been so helpful and informative! Keep up the great work and I’m looking forward to the following videos about the oil pump tests!
Thanks for posting this and all your videos, they are always informative and interesting. I purchased one of the TOPDON battery testers after you talked about them and have used it many times, great product. I am interested in the scanner as well, however I recently discovered ALFA ODB which is not really a scanner insomuch as it provides access to all of the vehicle computers allowing you to configure pretty much anything as you would do at the dealer such as changing tire size, changing the TPMS settings, adjusting the speedo, etc.. It does allow you to erase codes from any/all of the computers/systems but I do not believe it acts as that scanner does.
Man love your content big fan from iraq baghdad keep up the good work thank you for the information about the hemi engine god bless you wish you all the best in the future
Hey guys, really appreciate the support! Just a quick note: The giveaway is for the BT100 battery scanner, not the Artidiag 600S 👍

Tony Soprano digs cool cars, he would absolutely drive this as he is the "TOPDON"
Nice work on this one 😄👍
@@ReignitedAuto Forget it about it 🤣
Nice work on this build sir.

The TopDon really is an affordable scan tool for its capabilities

That's going to be a beast! I want to see it when it's done 💪
Its amazing how these companies like Top Don have shown the world snap-on isn't the only one out there
Just found this channel when I searched for putting a Hellcat oil pump on my 5.7. I’ve already watched 5 videos. Thank you sir! TOPDON “enter me please”

TOPDON is gaining in popularity seems good value for the money.
Thank you Sky!!! TOPDON for sure, can help my 14 year old son and I further expand our love for working on our cars.
That Topdon scan tool seems like a really good deal...... It's unfortunate that it doesn't have the misfire option, but it's still better that the scan tool I have now. As a Hemi fan and owner of two, I'm a huge fan of your channel Sky!
A Topdon battery tester would be nice addition.
TOPDON sounds like a good company
if a person doesn't want to cut all the wires several companies make shorty wires it just funs from the coil down to the plug looks good
