Number One: THAT IS SO SAD! That poor woman died alone and no one missed her, no family called on her, no friends! How else could she have been dead in the house that long with no one knowing? :'(
Wouldn't the family with the snake infestation have a case to sue the realtors for not disclosing the information that there was a snake infestation? Like, isn't that something that you're required to tell potential buyers?
I honest to God have a cousin who had this same thing happen to her and her husband! They slept the first night in their new, MASSIVE, beautiful home. The next afternoon, my cousin saw a snake slither across the livingroom floor! The closest door to getting out of the room went to the basement: upon reaching the basement, she found hundreds of them, actually in a pile, in the middle of the floor. But, they had inadvertently signed a piece of paper saying that they understood the situation, the document was sadly accurate. Did I mention that my cousin had a TRUE phobia of snakes! Not just afraid of them, but so afraid of them that being around one was a danger to her health due to possible heart attack, etc. The story actually has a happy ending: with no snakes dying, the house being virtually empty of snakes and my cousin is now almost comfortable with snakes! Also, as my cousin is a model, even with the snakes, it had a high pricetag: it's now worth over eight times what they paid for it 🤑
It depends what country it was purchased. In the U.S. I'm pretty sure it matters what state. But one would assume they would have a big lawsuit on their hands ehh?!?
@@ballisticcoefficientdepend9811 lesson of the story, read every paper you sign! Especially buying a house or even a car from a shady salesman. Of course they will do everything possible to tell you that house isn't filled with hundreds of snakes! With that said, I'm happy everything worked out for your cousin and she made out like a bandit with 8x's what she paid!
Different states have different laws regarding disclosure. I am not familiar with real estate law in Arizona, but in Indiana you only have to disclose if there was a murder committed in the house or answer any questions put forth by a potential buyer as honestly as possible. So, if buying a house in Indiana, make sure you ask alot of questions, especially "was this house ever used for a method lab"...which makes a house toxic and unliveable, yet not illegal to sell undisclosed.
When he had the tank in the basement he had a ramp dug down on the side of his house and knocked out a wall and put a big door in to get it in and out.
Hannys doll set up in the basement is part of the appeal, there's open stairs right by the entrance that lead down to the dolls. Part of the atmosphere is odd art and sculptures :)
I'm 26, I haven't lived with my parents since I was nineteen, and I play Fornite in my own basement. I feel like my case is far more rare than what you'd mentioned.
The people with snake infestation..My first job would have been to see a lawyer and sue the hell out of that realtor for selling me a house knowing there was such a problem and not saying anything.Im sure the court would side with them on a refund and some personal compensation, especially with her being pregnant.
They moved and couldn't afford rent on another property and the mortgage of the snake house since no one would buy it. Not sure what they did about the disclosure issue since the people who owned the house before had moved because of the snakes and the information about them was easily found when the previous owners did a search on the property. The place is listed on Zillow. Just do a search for 'Rexburg snake house' on your fave search engine.
Especially since it sounds like the snakes were musking in the water, which could make them all really sick as wild animals can carry disease and parasites.
I live in Phoenix and go to Hanny’s pretty frequently. The basement is set up for anyone to wander down there, they move the dolls often so they’re never all in the same positions. Unless they move themselves... 🧐
I used to live in Phoenix about 18 years ago, and I was more surprised to hear that this place even has a basement, seeing as how basically no one has basements in Phoenix, since the bedrock is so shallow and you typically have to use cost-prohibitive explosives to create one prior to building, than I was to see the dolls. Dolls are creepy, sure, but a basement in Phoenix is an anomaly😂
I know a guy that bought a house in an older neighborhood. He decided to expand the basement and found several skeletons. They where determined to have been there for quite awhile. He did get the nickname Bones out of it & he of course sold the house.
