So good to see you and Occy thriving! A hint for cleaning a grimy wood stove window: dip a damp paper towel into some of the ash in the stove and rub over the grime. The abrasiveness of the ash loosens even the toughest grime but won’t hurt the glass. We clean our wood stove window every morning this way to keep it sparkling clear for fire-gazing. @@MaxandOccy you can strip the bad paint off this new truck and then go to your local car supply parts store and match the exact paint of this truck year to spray your truck (see yt vids on how to do this = easy). A car parts store will have a book for you to look thru for VW 2013 truck paint that were used for that exact truck production year to match the rest of the truck) Also, think about taking all the panelling down or at least sections down in each room to make sure you do not have termites before you really start redoing the new bathroom/old bathroom/kitchen. Good tools definately make a difference on any home improvement project.

Mental health hygiene is a necessity to life; we take care of ourselves externally; we nourish with food, healthy drinks, move our body's, brush our teeth wash our hair etc...and cleanse our external self. Yet, the internal of ourself, our emotional and mental bank gets lost. Society is getting better, but MH is still stigmatized. I'm so grateful for your journey. It is your journey that has given you the gift to share and inspire. Your messages are needed. It is crucial to find a therapist that one can connect with, and if that connection is not present, it is OK to find another. Thank you, Max, for sharing the values of Better Health.

Max ... take a damp paper towel or newspaper and dip in leftover ashes. Wipe the glass in a circular motion to loosen caked-on soot. Repeat several times or until the soot is lifted.

I cant get over just how beautiful your new property is. Saying that, if I saw that snake I’d be heading for the airport asap 😂 Max, to clean the glass on your wood burner, just take a sheet of newspaper or any paper if you dont have newspaper and dampen it a bit, then dip it into the old ash and rub away. It’ll come off so much easier. To finish just use clean damp paper.

Just a tip for you if you didn't know already. When cleaning the glass on your wood burner, use damp kitchen towel and dip it in the ashes in the fire grate. Use the ashes to clean the class - works everytime! 👍

Awesome going. I ripped out and replaced my whole 😮kitchen when I retired at 65, I built a closet with shelves and replaced my cabinets, so you can too, no sweat. Power tools are easy to use. Piece of cake. I can't wait to see how you do.
As a woodworker Ryobi is a fair entry level tool. As you grow more experienced with woodworking the step up is to buy high end tools. Don't settle for average tools as you will kick yourself in the butt later. You have an absolutely beautiful property. I admire your dedication to being its steward.
Still love the idea of using the Van as a guest room, parked beside the house for any friends that want to stay over. Someday you might want to give it a nice little paint to make it look like a nice addition One suggestion for ya, make a compost heap for all your organic material. Start now and save on your garbage, and then next time you decide to build a little raised garden, you can go to the compost and scoop a bunch. I've heard that as long as you keep it 50/50 soil and compost material, it will be fine. Any more compost and it gets too hot for plants. We have a few new planter boxes that we willed the bottom with dead tree bits and food scraps and such, and then filled the rest with dirt. Saved us quite a bit on dirt, and will be great for the soil as it breaks down

@@MaxandOccy you can strip the bad paint off this new truck and then go to your local car supply parts store and match the exact paint of this truck year to spray your truck (see yt vids on how to do this = easy). A car parts store will have a book for you to look thru for VW 2013 truck paint that were used for that exact truck production year to match the rest of the truck)
Also, think about taking all the panelling down or at least sections down in each room to make sure you do not have termites before you really start redoing the new bathroom/old bathroom/kitchen.
Good tools definately make a difference on any home improvement project.

You have a great family. Glad to see your Dad in such great shape. My Dad built his last house at the age of 65 or so after work. He was an engineer not a professional builder but learned how to do it and so we all grew up in them. I LOVE the bird sounds! You are sure blessed!

I am an 85 year old lady and am so rapt in your videos. Love what you’re doing and the generosity of your friends. May I just mention about dogs and snakes. My youngest daughter 52 lives off grid with her beautiful dog but recently engaged a guy who trained the dog to be alert when confronted or senses a snake. Maybe you already know this but just thought a mention wouldn’t go astray. Your enthusiasm and joy of living in such a rich environment is contagious even for an old feisty lady like myself. Handy tip from Canada: the best product for cleaning stove glass is... wood ash.
Simply take a moist bit of newspaper and dip it in the ash from the stove.

Max ... take a damp paper towel or newspaper and dip in leftover ashes. Wipe the glass in a circular motion to loosen caked-on soot. Repeat several times or until the soot is lifted.
I get a lovely calm satisfied feel from your new house videos, and seeing you with your friends and family sharing with your happiness and adventure is wonderful. Recently I’ve been restoring a pond for my parents and it’s been so lovely to help them, I think the whole project has made me even happier than them!

I cant get over just how beautiful your new property is. Saying that, if I saw that snake I’d be heading for the airport asap 😂 Max, to clean the glass on your wood burner, just take a sheet of newspaper or any paper if you dont have newspaper and dampen it a bit, then dip it into the old ash and rub away. It’ll come off so much easier. To finish just use clean damp paper.

Just a tip for you if you didn't know already. When cleaning the glass on your wood burner, use damp kitchen towel and dip it in the ashes in the fire grate. Use the ashes to clean the class - works everytime! 👍

Awesome going. I ripped out and replaced my whole 😮kitchen when I retired at 65, I built a closet with shelves and replaced my cabinets, so you can too, no sweat. Power tools are easy to use. Piece of cake. I can't wait to see how you do.

As a woodworker Ryobi is a fair entry level tool. As you grow more experienced with woodworking the step up is to buy high end tools. Don't settle for average tools as you will kick yourself in the butt later. You have an absolutely beautiful property. I admire your dedication to being its steward.
Still love the idea of using the Van as a guest room, parked beside the house for any friends that want to stay over.
Someday you might want to give it a nice little paint to make it look like a nice addition
One suggestion for ya, make a compost heap for all your organic material. Start now and save on your garbage, and then next time you decide to build a little raised garden, you can go to the compost and scoop a bunch. I've heard that as long as you keep it 50/50 soil and compost material, it will be fine. Any more compost and it gets too hot for plants.
We have a few new planter boxes that we willed the bottom with dead tree bits and food scraps and such, and then filled the rest with dirt. Saved us quite a bit on dirt, and will be great for the soil as it breaks down
