I second Denison math! My son has math anxiety as well, we did the sample lesson for pre-algebra and it went really well. I just ordered it and can’t wait to use it. We’ve been using Math U See but wanted to try something different. We also love Gather round and campfire curriculums.

This is such a great video! There really isn’t much out there for high school homeschoolers and I absolutely loved that you took the time to dive into everything and give your thoughts on everything! 😊

I love our morning time too :) I've used those Simply Charlotte Mason guides in the past when they were younger. Their art and music studies are AMAZING! Right now, we do a Not Consumed Bible study, vocabulary cartoons SAT I, and World Watch News.

Is the SAT 1 done by vocabulary cartoons? There's a lot of free SAT stuff out there so I was going to use that. But I'd love to know if there are any engaging plans out there.

@@gratefulmom5781 The vocabulary cartoons are books that just present vocab in a fun way that helps kids remember through cartoons and word links. They have two editions that focus on SAT vocabulary called SAT I and SAT II. My son will take an SAT Prep Course online during his fall semester before he takes it in the spring. There are SO many to choose from! So far, I'm leaning towards PrepScholar.

My son LOVED Notgrass World Geography last year! He is doing their world history this year, and he has asked for their American History for next year. It's a fantastic curriculum!

I'm going down the Chemistry road next year with my upcoming 9th and 11th graders - LOL. We're all going to do it together, and I am hoping it goes well. We have chosen Master Books, so we shall see! I have heard fantastic things about Berean Builders.

I looked at Master Books a bit and liked it, but read their materials are a bit challenging. Let me know what you think of Master Books! The other chemistry curriculum I considered was ChemExplained. I printed out a sample lesson and watched a video, and it seemed very good.

YES! We have had so much drama from church youth group this year with my 8th grader - And guess what we used? NAVIGATING FRIENDSHIPS - LOL! I'm currently teaching that at our co-op to our middle school group.

Thank you so much for this video!! My son & I just decided that we’ll start homeschooling next year for his 9th grade year. I feel like I have a pretty good grasp of what we’re going to use, but you brought up a few things that I need to consider. ❤

This was a great video. Thanks for sharing. Makes me glad we’re going to go with berean builders for science next year. Do you have a reason y’all chose it over apologia? I’m going to have to look into notgrass geography. Did y’all find it to be too much though? We thought one of the history programs was a lot. We love cle. Just subscribed. I also have a channel and would love to be friends and connect. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

Homeschooling veteran here🙋‍♀️ Another Excellent math to look into for kiddos who aren’t “math-minded”, children with ADHD, or kids who just generally hate math is Denison Algebra. He teaches everything from pre-algebra through graduation, so don’t let the name deter you. He has two programs..regular, and “success” (for kids who Really struggle). I will say my son has ADHD, and we did the regular program this year-Mr. Denison breaks math down into bite-sized pieces that Anyone can actually process. I Wish I’d found this curricula when my girls were still in high school. He’s phenomenal!

Yes! Dennison is the best! My daughter did pre-algebra this year, and after years of tears over math we finally had a totally tear-free experience. She loves how independent it is, I love how clear and to the point it is and that she is getting A's on all of her tests. It's the best.

Thank you for this video! Would you be willing to do a video on Dr. Del's Math? I would love a deep dive explaining how the system works, with a flip-through and sneak peak of the video instruction. I've never heard of it and I can't seem to find any sample info on the website.
