hey buddy, i apologise if you already found it out, but just in case, the durbitily is on the menu so u hold tab and using mouse not click move the mouse say to knife as long as the knife is in ur back pack and not ur hand, it will say what its durbility is in the middle :)
few "pro-tips" I am sure you already discovered but might be useful for those watching this and thinking "i want this" The first island you see in front of you at the start is good for one thing only, first resources. Grab anything loose on the ground (rcks, sticks) and craft your knife. Cut down a palm for some additional sticks and the coconut. Check out any wreck that can be reached easy for crates (one crate has 3 slots but takes one slot in your inventory) and goodies. leave island and row to closest island you can see. This should be significantly larger. Here continue the tutorial with campfire and basebuilding. Use that island as first base. lashing: Yucca and young palm tree give the leaves, 4 of them is one lashing. most important starter buildings in order. Campfire, Shelter, Solar still, firepit, smoker. Make additional firepit for a spit for potatoes. drink drink drink. Coconuts are great, a solar still is better. use an empty whole coconut for drinking. These steps should help you survive the first week. explore as many wrecks as possible for goodies, work till late so you sleep into the day (less risk of sunstroke) and DO NOT MESS WITH THE GIANTS untill you are late game... you die... seriously... you will die
