Step 6 - If you take on gas but have internal engines, don't forget to run your blowers immediately. Really nice video again. We take a picture of the Garmin screen before resetting the trip. We also take a picture of the gas pump so we have gallons and cost with a timestamp. I try not to look at the amount... instead, I look at the Marnia, where we are at, and look at all the boats and think, "Most boats spend their lives not being used." Just bought a "Sailboat Winch Bit Adaptor" for an old drill. Hoping to spin those caps with the sharp edges a little faster. Great VHF 1w reminder! Thank you for the Waterway Guide site. It looks very helpful. You may want to add a link to the show notes and/or ask if they offer affiliate links so you can make a little money. If they do, maybe do a whole episode.
Thank you for the feedback. The vast majority of my experience is on diesel and outboards - allowing me to overlook that imperative of running the blower on inboard/outboard gas boats. I will add the water way guide link. We have hard copy, but check the app for gas prices when traveling, at least as reference.
I truly love your videos and the reason why is, I'm used to small 18 foot aluminum lake boats but as i'm getting ready to retire, i'm planning on getting a larger boat like an 895 or 1095 and these tips are awesome for those of use who have never had to Pump out the black water, fill with diesel for heat or cool, fill water tanks etc..... Thank You!!!
That brings me joy. Good luck finding that next boat. A major motivation for starting a channel is to help make being on the water more accessible by showing what it is like to own an express cruiser and answering people’s questions about them without being a dick.
