PHILLIPS PARK ZOO: Adapting and Helping Animals In Cold Weather!

With the Phillips Park Zoo closed through Sunday, January 21 due to extreme winter weather, staff are working hard to keep animals safe and warm.
"We go through things like straw a lot more when it is this type of weather," said Zoo Manager Anna Borozenets. "Same with hay. Those are all consumable items that we do have to purchase, so those are all things that we roll through a lot quicker."
Borozenets said that nearly every one of the Zoo's 100 animals need help during this frigid stretch of days.
