Thanks for this one, Mike. I moved out of Aurora 30 years ago; this was a fun way to see how much I still remember. Yeah there were parts I would have liked to see but I’m not complaining.
My birth town. New York and Blackhawk: that park used to be a school New York and Greenman School: road used to go straight through with the school having a gate to block traffic during school hours Rail road tracks along Highland Ave: used to be a high speed freight rail for the area going up to Elgin, IL Galena BLVD / Hill Ave: used to be how US 30 went through the town River St: used to be northbound IL 31 13:00: Leland Tower, used to live there from 2013 to 2015 16:50: tracks on right was the original way for trains to get to Aurora As did this being a "downtown" video, you completely missed both Downer and Benton Streets going over Stolp Island with Stolp Ave being the East/West divider of the town.
I grew up there on lakelawn and highland. Right by old, and new Indian trial. Mercy hospital was the best.... I'm with you wanting to see downer ave, I was apprentice mechanic in 1978 at Jones n Cates auto... Many stories about Aurora.. especially when cat , Lyon metal and/ or all steal laid off. Its seemed like one laid off they all did and the town looked like Detroit
Does anybody notice the car disappearing in minute 7:47 right in the middle of the screen before the stop light switches back to green? And also the guy on the right side if the street riding the bike in minute 09:41 disappears for a second then appears in the corner. Is that a glitch or something wrong with the Matrix? Lol.
this Aurora town seem like a more established town. Thanks for showing us. The more I watch these videos is the more I learn what's out there out of my little bubble.

Aurora is the second largest city in Illinois (only behind Chicago.) First settled in 1834, incorporated as a city in 1857.

Nice looking city. Was rated as the 2nd best city in Illinois in 2010. All of a sudden it's losing population at a fast pace. I wonder why?
