I am a lifelong vegetarian. I haven't eaten meat in my life and couldn't if I tried! Raised that way. And yet I find videos like this one to be absolutely fascinating and even mouth-watering! I learned so much from this one! In South Africa we don't BBQ, we "braai". My auto-correct once changed this word to "brazilian" and I ended up sending a rather awkward invitation to my father as a result! I love Food Trucks! We don't really have them in South Africa but they are very popular in San Francisco where I spent some time a few years ago!
As a southern American, barbecue is more than just grilling hamburgers and hot dogs. Proper American Southern BBQ is meats that have been slow smoked for hours until they just fall off the bone. What you described, with hamburgers, hot dogs, and the lamb It's just grilling out. For me, there is nothing better than a slow smoked beef brisket. Cook it long enough and it forms this beautiful crust on the outside but it's melt in your mouth tender and juicy on the inside. Then you slather it in a sweet, delicious barbecue sauce and serve it with some bacon flavored collard greens, baked beans, and some real baked macaroni and cheese. Then finish it off with a beautiful dish of real banana pudding with sliced bananas and vanilla wafers mixed in. That's eating!
